Reviews for Youngstown Yacht Club
Still great!, 2016-08-10
Captain: , Britt, Ontario (691)

Aug 4/16 - First time back in more than 10 years and it is still a fun place to overnight. Tied up on visitor wall with four other boats. Walk up hill to grocery, pharmacy and liquor store. Mug and Musket (formerly Brennan's) has very good food for reasonable prices. Yacht Club restaurant is also very good. Clean washrooms and showers.

Friendly Club in a great location, 2013-05-30

Waht's not to like about YYC? Staff and members are helpful, restaurant is excellent and good value, facilities are clean and open late.

Recommend you choose a mooring ball over the wall if you can - no wories about surge, which can be uncomfortable in a Northerly. Free club launch picks you up form your mooring - no need to anchor, no need for dinghy!

If you have dinghy with a decent engine the trip upriver to Lewiston is fun one you have exhausted charming Youngstown and Fort Niagara.

For Canadians with Nexus, YYC offers an alternative to NOLSC, which is frequently full in the summer. We have moored at YYC then dinghied across to NOLSC, cleared Customs there, and spent the day at Niagar on the Lake. YYC is slightly (very slightly) more sheltered from Northerlies.

Laid back, quiet, 2012-07-22

Very accomodating. Was there on a Monday/Tuesday so didn't get a chance to sample the clubhouse.
Great staff on the dock and launch.

Great river views, 2012-03-03

Host the yearly "levels" yacht races.
RCR Yachts is next door.
Friendly club.

Friendly club in quaint community, 2011-07-05
Captain: , TORONTO (424)

This club is casual but welcomes visitors who are willing to tie up to their wall - a portion of which is designated for members who have boats on moorings. The town is interesting with an 1812 fort close by and Canada's "Niagara-on-the-Lake" across the river. This is a theatre town and home of the Shaw Festival. Video reporting is located near the club.
