Reviews for Yankee Point Marina
Best value I've seen, 2016-09-08
Captain: , Middle River, MD (354)

It's easy to see why this is an AC 1st Choice Marina (which I wasn't aware of until I went to submit this review). My first clue was the immediate response (by Sandy) to my call on channel 16. My next clue was having the owner (Karen) assist me in docking (in 95 degree heat). The marina has everything - well stocked ships store, nice upper deck restaurants, new bumpers on the finger pier, very well maintained piers, fantastic salt water swimming pool with great lunch cafe, very clean restrooms and showers, and on and on. I've only been here a few hours and everything I see I'm impressed with. And all of this for $1.40 per foot (with Boat us discount). The marinas up north should come down here to see what these people are doing to attract customers. I'll be back - for sure.

Great place - but very poor wifi and zero upkeep on restroom/showers, 2016-07-06
Captain: , Essex (10)

Excellent location and facility. Friendly staff, low key and quiet.

But owners need to focus on very poor wifi and cleaning restroom and showers.

Zero cell service on anything but Verizon

Would be 5 star with attention to these details

Management response:
Hi Captain, thank you for your review. Our wifi service is unfortunately totally dependent upon our internet service which is extremely poor. We have no control over that as all of the providers are small local companies. Verizon service is virtually non-existent for internet due to their lack of willingness to put in towers in the Northern Neck. I welcome any suggestion you might have because we are as frustrated about it as you are! We are pushing our local elected officials to get off the dime. I will make note of this in the services/internet section to make sure everyone knows about this ahead of their visit.

The rest rooms are within our control however. We have made a concerted effort to upgrade them and have them serviced regularly. We have found that at times, the previous user has left a mess and we hope others will help by cleaning up after themselves. We will increase our cleaning schedule at your recommendation.

Thank you again for your willingness to provide feedback. We can't fix it if we don't know about it!

Very Friendly!, 2015-09-03
Captain: , Castine, Maine (2964)

Yankee Point Marina is located in a lovely, protected, and peaceful spot off the Corrotoman River. It is a very friendly place with staff and boaters greeting you and making you feel welcome. There is a pool and a choice of two places to eat on site. Our canine crew enjoyed their stay as much as we did as Yankee Point is very dog friendly. Make sure to meet the marina mascot, Ky. Thank you everyone for your warm hospitality! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Best Marina on Chesapeake Bay, 2015-09-01
Captain: , Wicomico Church, VA (10)

You won't find a better marina on Chesapeake Bay. Knowledgeable, friendly service with great amenities, easy access, and lots of wonderful people. Owners/operators Ken & Karen have created a true gem!

Beautiful setting!, 2015-07-18
Captain: , Arizona (216)

This marina is set in a beautiful, large cove, surrounded by tall pine trees. Karen and Ken were a pleasure to work with.

Great marina, great service!, 2015-07-10
Captain: , Toronto (10)

The team at Yankee Point went way above and beyond when our boat recently landed at their facility. Ken and his staff proactively handled our needs, including some unexpected extras. They also have tech services, great docks and other amenities. What more could you ask for? Best marina experience ever!

Yankee Point Marina Review, 2015-05-13
Captain: , Seattle (10)

We have had our ketch at this Marina for 6 years. The yard is
excellently maintained. The yard personnel are technically trained
in their specialiaties and extremely competent!! One feature that
convinced us to moor here was the capability to do our own work.
The bathrooms provide privacy and are clean. It is well protected
from violent weather. Our satisfaction with our choice of a marina could not be higher. It is a Number One facility in all respects! Matt and Jeri Hahner/ SV ENTCHEN

Bath House Update - January 2015, 2015-01-27
Captain: , Lancaster, VA (36)

Karenand I apreciate the feedback on the marina and have taken it to heart! This winter we are renovating the bath house to upgrade its appearace and make it easier to maintain. As a restoration and Do It Yourself boatyard, we do have a slightly different clientele from a straight marina so we hope you understand, black marble and gold fixtures probably isn't what you will find here but we try hard to keep the bath house clean and bright! Keep the comments coming, we really do appreciate it.

Fantastic low key marina, 2014-04-19
Captain: , Annapolis (2677)

We've been here several times, and this visit was in late June This is a smaller low key destination marina, on the Corrotoman. This marina is managed, run, cared for by Karen and Ken. They own it. They are totally involved and present! Fun and friendly, thay make you feel like your stay at their marina is a gift for them! they have managed to fit a working boatyard into a nice marina. The only detriment is the heads. The womens head is a solid B+ effort, the men's head is a bit less. Perhaps because it is a working yard...I don't know, but I hope this one detail can be improved. The pool cafe is wonderfull. great meals, not your basic short order foods, but good tasting meals. Yankee Point Burger with mushrooms and brie is terrific. If you like a small owner managed, owner operated, scenic, idyllic marina, with a nice pool and food, then you will love Yankee Point.

Exceptionally friendly staff and great service, 2013-07-18
Captain: , Boise, ID (10)

This marina is meticulously maintained. Their docks are easy to get in and out of. They are a full service marina in a beautiful, remote location. They offer a cruisers kitchen/lounge, showers & restrooms, well stocked ship store, brokerage office, rental sunfish boats, pool and poolside cafe as well as their dining room. Easy access fuel & pump out dock as well.

A Good Choice for Dockage, 2013-05-09
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4015)

There are many beautiful places to visit along the Rappahannock River. After a few nights anchoring, we found Yankee Point a nice stop for secure docks and friendly, helpful staff. Showers are decent, the one washer and dryer work well, docks are well maintained. It is not a place to provision, as there are no businesses close to the marina.

You should not let the "Sailboat" descriptor in the marina's title dissuade power boaters from stopping here. All are welcomed and and accommodated.

Do it Yourself Gem, 2013-04-17
Captain: , Lancaster (340)

One of the few marinas in this area that let you do your own work. Great support from the staff and the ships store can get you anything you need, pretty quickly and at competitive prices.

Nice place - good work, 2012-08-04
Captain: , Yankee Point, Lancaster, VA (48)

This is a laidback marina with good food and excellent maintenance facilities. There is nothing to get to ashore but you have just about everything you might need at the marina. The ship's store even stocks beer.

The rest rooms have undergone some sprucing up recently.

If you can get on their hurricane haul list this is an excellent hurricane hole. Even if you can't get hauled the marina is well protected and the crew really look after the boats if there is a storm.

Quiet, Friendly, Helpful, 2012-07-27
Captain: , Shelton, WA (10)

Friendly, helpful management and help along with good food, laundry, showers, and pool make this a nice stop to unwind.

Some good, some bad., 2011-06-19
Captain: , Chesapeake (80)

The work put out by the crew at Yankee Point is very good, but my dealings with the owners have left alot to be desired. Ken and Karen told me that I was not spending enough at their marina. I have never had a marina owner tell me this in my life and I decided I would not go back to this marina because of this attitude. This happen about 5 years ago.

Nice family owned marina., 2011-01-02
Captain: , Port Charlotte, FL (533)

"Great folks, and they do good work here. Ken is former Navy."

Fun and Friendly, 2009-07-21
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (68)

Great place to stop for fuel, supplies, or a meal if you are cruising the Corrotoman. Our first time there this past weekend. It's nice to have someone actually seem glad to help and appreciate your business.

Yankee Point Marina, 2009-07-15

This is a friendly facility which has welcomed our boat for summer storage. Owners are on the premises and have been very helpful.
