Reviews for Wye Heritage Marina and Resort
Fabulous Marina!, 2016-08-05
Captain: , Blanco, TX (520)

Didn't spend much time here, wanted to top off fuel before heading into Georgian Bay. Facilities were very spacious and clean. Needed just a couple of things from grocery, gentleman who worked there(failed to get his name) offered to pick up on his way into work the next morning, extremely accommodating. Would love to spend more time here to explore the town and take advantage of the marina amenities.

Great Stop After the Trent, 2016-08-03
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (728)

This is truly a first class marina and a welcome break after 2 weeks on the Trent-Severn. The AGLCA perks are another great reason to stay. Every staff member we interacted with had a smile and always asked if there was anything we needed.

It is a very large marina but most transiant slips seem to be an easy walk or bike ride to the office or pool. We'll gladly stay here on loop #2.

Nice Marina & Great Service, 2016-07-25
Captain: , Norfolk, VA, USA (185)

We came here on a Friday after completing the Trent-Severn Waterway and ended up staying 4 days. We received clear instructions to find the slip and were helped as we pulled in and tied up. We ended up renting a car from Enterprise for a great rate for the weekend and toured several interesting local sites, some recommended by the marina staff.

As other reviews have stated, Andy was very helpful and spent about an hour with us going over places to take the boat in Georgian Bay and the North Channel.

The restrooms and showers are very nice and clean, and the whole complex is well maintained. It is a large facility but we were placed on a dock that was convenient to the office and Henry's Restaurant.

Good looper stop, 2016-07-20
Captain: , Portsmouth (553)

We came in with about ten other Loopers. The marina took care of everyone even hosting a wine and cheese gathering for us. Andy and the staff held a briefing on Georgian Bay and the North Channel for us then made themselves available the next day for one on one questions. Excellent people.

Fantastic Place - some slips are pretty far from amenities, 2016-07-02
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2870)

We echo all the good things written recently. GM, Mike Sweet, shuttled us twice for errands during our 3-day stay and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only thing to consider is that it is a HUGE facility and your slip might be a long walk to the showers, laundry, office. etc. If that is a consideration for you, ask to be put closer.

Great Stop in Georgian Bay, 2016-06-29
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (1541)

After coming out of Georgian Bay, we needed a place to stop for a few days. Wye Heritage fit the bill perfectly, especially with multiple discounts offered to AGLCA members. As AGLCA members, we paid for two days and stayed a third for free, received 5 cents off on diesel fuel, and received a free pumpout. That's almost beside the fact because even without the discounts this is a superb marina. Very friendly staff, especially customer service rep Andy who met us on the dock to catch our lines, then checked us in at the office. He even took a half hour of time to go over my Georgian Bay charts with me, pointing out places to anchor, and channels to avoid. The bathrooms are first class and very clean, and the whole marina is well maintained. Also, they've got great wifi - something so many marinas struggle with. Great stop, and we're so glad we chose to stop here!

place to leave the boat some days, 2015-09-09
Captain: , Cape Coral (221)

Very nice marina with a friendly staff. The place is very well protected, away from everything. We left our boat 2 weeks here and had a very good feeling. Security is high, the gates to the marina are always closed and they have a good video control.

Must Stop Marina, 2014-08-01
Captain: , Evansville, Indiana (65)

We stayed at the Wye Heritage Marina in Midland, ON for 4 days to recover from the TSW and take care of some personal business. The manager, Jay Forrest, and assistant manager, Sheila Baxter and their entire staff, could not have been more helpful to the four Looper boats that were in the marina during this time. (Several Looper boats had just left the day we arrived).
I asked Jay if he would have time to recommend areas and routes within Georgian Bay to a person new to the area. He not only willingly did that but went one step further by inviting his boss, Ken MacDonald, to the marina to give all the Loopers a full brief on where to go and what to see in Georgian Bay, to include marking the preferred and alternate routes on everyone%u2019s charts.
The night before we left, Sheila invited all crew on the four Looper boats to a fantastic dinner in town, compliments of the marina.
From the great staff, to the spotless facilities, to the loan of a golf cart, and the special treatment they provide to Loopers, you should make Wye Heritage Marina a must stop while traveling in Georgian Bay.

Great marina, 2014-07-23
Captain: , Massapequa,NY (1176)

They really put out the welcome mat for loopers. Love the marina & staff couldn't be better. Free rides to town & shopping. Fuel dock gives looper discount. Great to cool off in the pool. Restaurant on site. Spent time for chart review of best spots to stop.

Bluegrass loves Wye Heritage Marina, 2014-07-12
Captain: , Hertford, NC (61)

We stayed at Wye Heritage Marina twice during this mini-loop cruise. Best marina in Georgian Bay by far! General Manager Jay Forrest and Service Manager Steve Goddard were so helpful when we limped in on one engine with a shaft casualty. Steve and his crew took Bluegrass onto the travel lift and made repairs within 2 hours of our arrival. The Crew was professional and very helpful throughout our visits. The pool and washrooms were very clean. They even loaned us a golf cart at no charge to get around this largest fresh water marina in Canada! Wye Heritage is also the site of one of the two famous Henry%u2019s restaurants. Great food, especially the local pickerel. If you need to shop, stop by the Midland Harbour Marina on the way to Wye Heritage. They have a free shoppers%u2019 dock for boaters, and all the stores you need are within walking distance.

We only came for lunch at Henry's, 2014-07-07
Captain: , Nowhere,OK (1314)

But we were treated like long time members. They say they are the largest marina in Canada, it's the largest one I've been in.

Met at the dock by three dock hands and were soon tied up.

Short walk to Henry's from our location, but they have golf carts if you are docked farther out.

Lunch at Henry's was good, if you won't make the one on the island, a good second choice.

Excellent, 2013-06-19
Captain: , santa barbara (771)

Left boat during winter in heated storage, have worked with Jay and his staff re various issues and repairs - all very courteous and knowledgeable - this is a very well run facility

Excellent Staff and Service, 2013-03-04
Captain: , Charlevoix, MI (211)

I had my mast stepped here after coming through the Trent/Severn Waterway in the spring. The staff were fantastic and the manager himself stopped by each day to see how we were doing. Expensive, but they did give us free dockage for two nights. Very friendly. Nice facilities. It's a long way from town but easy to hitch a ride with one of the local boaters.

Good marina, 2011-02-22
Captain: , Toronto, Canada (391)

I get my fuel at Doral, the entrance channel is clear and accessible in almost all conditions. Service is prompt and friendly. The marina itself has the usual amenities, such as water and hydro, but it does have some other facilities, such as a pool and ship store with limited offerings. The marina's restaurant is Henry's South, a spinoff of Henry's on FryingPan island. You'll get a hearty if unrefined fish meal there. You won't go hungry and it will cost you $20 per person including coffee and tip. Midland is nearby, a quick cab ride away.
