Reviews for Wright's Landing Marina
Weedy West Side, 2015-08-06
Captain: , Bay Port (314)

Came in with a strong west wind and was assigned slip "Orange 7"
which is in the lee of the hill and park that is to the west of the marina. Made backing down the fairway easier, but it was weedy.
Ended up with a strainer full of weeds! And it was a tight fit - we're single engine with a thruster, 34 ft and 12-3 beam. Better slips with less weeds are located at the east - at the club, which is also handled by the attendant at the booth at the lauch ramps.

Good spot for a few days., 2015-06-24

West wind makes docking a bit difficultbut otherwise the place is fine. I found the $2.00 a foot a little high after the free walls along the ERie but it is a city marina and well maintained. Electric and Cable with clean hot showers --wha'ts ther not to like.
REad Capt. Foster's note a few down --I almost did a repeat --and I knew it was difficult. Dock folks helped pull the stern around and spring line final did thier job.

Good overnight, 2014-07-11

We stayed here when we couldn't get into Oswego Yacht Club because of a regatta they were having. Called ahead for reservation and the lady was very helpful and informative. Fee was $2.00/ft. We tied up on the long wall with good electric and water. Showers and restrooms at the start of the pier, Free pump out at the end of the pier. Short walk to a nicely renovated old canal town. Lots of dining and shopping opportunities. Nice park to the west up a hill, where we stumbled on to a Big Band concert. Busy place, but a good stay.

A great marina, if there is dock help, 2014-05-25

There are two parts, the former International Marina and the Wrights Landing Marina.

We came ito the International Marina in a full west wind, gust to 25. There are reviews below with comments about the west wind, but Ho, I'm Captain Foster, west winds bow before me.

So on the 10th pass of the winds bowing before me, some kind soul came to manage the lines. We managaged what would be described in the "Songs of Capt Foster", not my best docking. We got hooked up on the T head. We were glad for help without them, we would have circled with the 11.2 million sea gulls and waited for the wind to drop,

Rates are $2/foot with electric. A very cool museum 10 mins away, bars and food a little longer. Pump oit and fuel are available, but if you are coming up the canal, buy / pump their first. We are well sheltered from the waves, but the west wind will test your skills. Learn fore/aft and double springs befoe you come here.

Bonus, sunset to be admired. Ever wondered what happened to the extras from "The Birds" they live here.

I've been on a roll of great places on this trip :Bohemia Yacht Harbor. Delaware City, Utchs's in Cape May, Half Moon, Shady Harbor, Illion, and the Ess-Kay Yards.

3 Stars for Fuel, Pump outs and 15 min walk to cool places. If iit had not been for the person that helped us, we would have set sail for Rochester and left the gulls behind.

Boat Karma is a trip: One day you get Ess-Kay, the next day Wright's landing.

Wonderful Stay for Harborfest, 2012-08-15
Captain: , Baldwinsville, NY (26)

We stayed at Wrights landing for the week of harborfest. I arrived a day before my wife. Taking our boat up with a friend from lock 24. It took about 6 hours to get there. I had paid in advance for our slip so I knew by the map they sent me where we were headed. Most of the cruisers back in and take advantage of the center floating dock as living space. Charis, umbraellas etc. It is a very nice setup. Boats back up to eachother. Everyone was very very friendly. We had private bathrooms with showers, private meaning they are locked and we were given a code to access. The marina was staffed well. I'm not sure if it was just because of harborfest. They brought my wife from the parking lot with a cooler and groceries in a golf cart. I thought that was a little extra you don't see to often. They were running pickup and drop off all day long. Our floating dock entrance had a swinging fence gate to keep riff raff out. Wonderful location for the festivities. Stores arent the closest. A byrne dairy about 8 blocks away. It was a very pleasant stay.
