What a great stop !! I had not planed on going to this marina till a friend of my we were traveling with wanted to see a boat for sale at this marina. We came in at mid tide and had plenty of water for our 4.2 draft. The marina is family run and it shows with there attention to detail and care for their customers. The bathrooms and showers are spotless they have a very nice pool on the grounds and a restaurant with a nice bar what more can you ask for. During my stay I had a medical issue. The marina was kind enough to take me to the hospital. The marina supplied my wife with a car so she could go back-and-forth while I was in the hospital. We will be stoping back when ever we are on the upper Chesapeake and you should too!!!

Quiet spot, easy in/out. , 2016-06-08

Nice spot just off the bay. Access is good, be true to the nav aids. We draw 4-11, had no problems. Restaurant is only open weekends.

Jason the new owner (6 months) is an outstanding chef. only open th, fri, sat and maybe Sunday. We were there Wednesday, called to see if pet friendly, closed, but Jason said " c'mon over, I'll make you something good".

best mussels I ever had. prefect salad. great crab cakes. like having our own chef!

Quotes from Owner are worthless, 2014-10-22
Captain: , Nottingham, PA (10)

I have spent almost $30k at this marina and their quotes made by the onwer are not honored and I received very unfair and unethical treatment by the owner. Please review local BBB complaint for full details. Owner John P did not cooperate with me or the BBB. The staff is the greatest and are the only thing that is the saving grace....feel free to discuss the owner with long timers at the marina. They all know. Happy to provide full details.

Emergency Repair, 2014-10-01
Captain: , Cape Cod, MA (179)

After exiting the C&D canal on Friday 9/19 stbd engine lost power and we found water in the bilge. Limped into Worton Creek Marina where our problem was quickly diagnosed. Very lucky choice as WCM is the only full service marina for miles. Part ordered Friday, delivered Tuesday so we spent 4 nights at the marina. Beautiful tranquil spot with a nice restaurant (but not open Sun, Mon, or Tues.) wonderfully accommodating people. John our mechanic even brought us fried catfish and muffins Sunday morning. High quality mechanics and a very reasonable repair bill. Very complete ships store but limited "groceries." Not much to do except relax and watch the crabbers & cat fisherman come & go, but a great place to do it. Also a nice place for some dinghy exploration.

We have stayed here twice this summer and really enjoy the peace and quiet that Worton Creek Marina offers. Judy is extremely helpful. Marina not fancy but great value. Nice store. Will be back.

Great place, 2013-11-03
Captain: , Ft Lauderdale, Fl (10)

We stopped to have our 68 Ft MY hauled for a survey and I can honestly say it was like a trip back in time when people truly cared. John the owner and his staff could not be more accomodating. We had a couple of problems and they helped out like we were long term clients. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer more professional group.

Great Quiet Marina, 2013-09-02
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (130)

We have stayed here many times and enjoy coming back. The condition of the marina is average for an older facility. We have only used the bath houses which were very clean but not the pool. The dock hands and marina owners were very accomodating and they even let us borrow a fying pan on one visit so we could cook breakfast. The marina store is nice with a good ships store, some provisions and a gift shop.
We would recommend getting a reservation at the restaurant, Harbor House, if you get a slip as the food is excellent. The marina will set this up for you. Ignore the look of the restaurant, the menu will make up for it.

Nice but Watch the Electric, 2013-06-23
Captain: , Wilmington DE (782)

We were assigned the face dock of the dock with the covered sheds. We need 240 volt/50 amp. Found one broken recepticle that measured 195 volts, and another recepticle at 202 volts. The yard man came out and found a third that he said he measured 212 volts. Later HE learned this is a 208 volt operation. I would not risk it and so had no AC. We checked three near by 30 amp plugs and found two that were defective, and one that was OK. So we had refrigeration without running the generator to top up the house bank.

The facility needs some TLC. The grounds were very nice and the marina people were very accomodating of our 60+ person group. We did not try the pool or resturant.

We entered at 0.7' above MLW and saw 4.5-5' in the channel as well as at the dock. The bottom was soft and we were 'pushing up mud' as we approached.

Our first day!, 2013-05-19

We stay for a night or 2 every summer and then come for dinner at the harbour house restaurant at least 2 more times each season. Great people, no pretense, just good service at a good price.

New to the marina, 2012-10-31
Captain: , West End Boat Club (74)

We had gone to the 2012 US Power Boat show in October at Annapolis and were on our way back to our previous boat yard. At the show Worton Creek Marina had a booth and was offering a discount (still might be available) on dock space so we stopped by as a transient to check the place out.
We ended up staying and getting a ride back to our car.
What a change.
I'm reviewing this as a new fulltime 'resident' at the marina and since we are new it's hard to give a complete review, but I'll tell you what I know now.
First, it's a little more expensive during the summer season than at our previous location. Winter with a haul onto the hard is less expensive.
Second, the marina has a 'Yacht Club' which I am told gets together during the season for cruises, outings and get togethers. You don't have to join, it's available.
Three, cell service and wi-fi are either very limited or non-existant, but I was told the utilities should be providing services in the very near future.
Fourth, we just rode out Sandy and the jist of the experience was a tide about a foot above the dock and then it receeded. So a safe harbor if there ever was one.
Fifth, instead of a 10 mile cruise to get to the bay we are 1.5 miles from the Chesapeake so getting where we want to go is a lot shorter.
Sixth, we got to choose our slip from those available, which was about 6 or so.
Seventh, I saw a mention of 'skinny water' which the first time in I was a little cautious about my approach. The owner has a 92' Burger and when I saw it go out, I lost all trepidation about 'skinny water'.
So far everyone we've met has been very helpful and open to a new 'member' so we are looking forward to a great summer.
I'm planning some work to be done by the marina so I'll report how that goes as well.
4 Stars is all I could give at this point but it is a very honest reply as to my experiences so far.
P.S.-the resposes I read from others I would echo as well.
P.P.S.-they are fair, when we stopped as a transient, their regular fee is $1.50, but since the pool and restaurant weren't available they only charged us $1.00/ft.

Nature at its best, 2012-10-22

Many moorings available. Unspoiled surroundings. We saw deer on shore.

Pleasant and Peaceful Marina, 2012-10-09
Captain: , Oriental (270)

We had a great stay at this marina. They were very accomodating. Despite it being the end of September, they unlocked the pool for my daughter and I to swim. They have a small gift shop/'pantry' for a few food items and sodas. They have plenty of marine supplies. The bathing facilities and bathrooms are older but very clean and great showers (very clean) with exhaust fans and air conditioning (the bather can control) to keep the humidity down. There is fuels and pumpout that worked well. The water can be a little skinny, you just have to time it right with the tides. We layd over as a big blow and heavy rains came through. It was a very comfortable place to be.

Love The Restaurant, 2012-10-01
Captain: , Magothy River (319)

The food at the restaurant was delicious. Dockhands and marina store personnel were very friendly. Nothing within walking distance to see.

Outstanding place to stop, 2012-09-05
Captain: , Middle River, MD (50)

We stopped here for fuel, pump out, and a picnic lunch, and were delighted with the facility and staff. The marina store is excellent, as well - my XO thought the country store was très chic, and their provisions section saved me a trip to the grocery store.

We're definitely going to go back for a weekend - we'd really like to check out the restaurant and it only serves dinner.

Stayed a night over Labor Day weekend. The restaurant is indeed quite good and the staff excellent. We came in at dead low tide and were a little nervous... Between 5 - 6 feet most of the way in from the first private marker upstream of the inner anchorage.

Note the water gets a little thin as you head up Worton Creek. We draw 4'9" and didn't have any trouble at about mid-tide, but in many spots my sounder was indicating less than 6 feet of water... might have been a problem at LLW.

Great place for repairs, 2012-06-17
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2486)

We stayed here 8 nights for a major engine repair due to parts being back-ordered. There was no charge for the slip or electric because we were having some major work done. Staff was incredibly helpful; owners John and Libby P were terrific, too. Head mechanic, John LeClair was absolutely terrific and as previously mentioned, he will let a competent owner do some of the work or even help in some situations.

Pool is nice, showers are so-so but with lots of hot water and good pressure, restaurant is over-priced for our taste. The town of Chestertown is not that close, but we had an opportunity to get there and it was nice.

great place for maintenance, 2011-10-10
Captain: , Rock Hall, Maryland (119)

They have the staff with skills to take care of most maintenance and repair including carpentry, fiberglass, engine. I have stored my boat here over the winter several times. Staff very friendly. Marine store and gift shop well stocked. If you draw more than 5 feet and go in at low tide, you will be plowing mud for the last 50 feet. It will not stop you, the mud is soft and you plow your way in. Better to go in at high tide.

Boat Yard and dockage, 2011-06-25
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach, SC (3210)

combining that it is a boat yard with the fact they cater to transients, this is a great stop. Owner is great.

Great service manager, 2010-08-02
Captain: , Here and There (443)

Called them one morning for a serious engine problem. The Service Manager, John Leclair, got right to us and had someone working on the problem that afternoon. Very friendly and knowledgeable service, and John was happy tell me what work I could do on the engine to speed things along and save me money. Could not ask for more from them.

Nice pool, fantastic restaurant, decent little store with very basic groceries and good inventory of marine parts and supplies.

Decent WiFi internet availability would be a valuable addition, however.

Captain: , Marlton, NJ (171)

Knew we would be in late. Called ahead and took our charge card number over the phone. Left recepit taped to piling. Beautiful place. Friendly people. Great protection from weather. Watch out for the crab pots strung across most of the inlet.

Great Marina Store, 2010-06-30
Captain: , Middle River (186)

The store at the marina is great, they have a large boat area, small grocery area and a real nice nick nak shop.

Isolated Stop, 2010-06-05
Captain: , Wicomico Creek, MD (494)

Good stop for bad waether on the bay. Well protected. Only thing to offer is the restaurant. No shopping, no sights. Fuel price @$3.65/gal diesel is high. Slips are old, bathroom are clean and there is a pool.

Old School Marina, 2009-01-25
Captain: , Chesapeake Bay, MD (311)

The Admiral and I both injoyed this place. Quiet, plain, vintage.nice pool (small) up the hill. Neat little restaraunt overlooking the creek. Very nice folks at the store and docks. Pretty view at creek.

Good Haulout, 2008-08-29
Captain: , Bear, DE (197)

I was hauled out there last spring and found them to be a great place for doing business. They painted the bottom of my 62 footer and the bill was exactly as estimated! Everyone was very nice and the owner took time to show us the boat he was rebuilding.

quiet return to the past, 2008-03-16
Captain: , Riverside, NJ (6)

Worton Creek Marina is a friendly place, in the country. Worton creek is well protected from weather and has gently sloping hills on both sides of the creek. There is gas/dlesel/ice available, and a very nice gift shop with unique items, clothing, snacks and beer/wine/spirits too. Also a small pool. Worton creek does extensive repairs on engines, fiberglass, woodworking, paint shop. There is a restaurant on-site which has nice upscale dining overlooking the creek. As loud and party-filled as Great Oak Fairlee is to the south, Worton Creek is a quiet retreat to the way things used to be before the world got so fast and crazy.
