Reviews for Wormley Creek Marina
Calm marina, nice floating docks, 2017-06-15
Captain: , Kemah (130)

Thisn is a nice marina with friendly people and newer floating docks. We stayed here to tour all the historical sites and enjoyed the calm atmosphere. Only drawback is the proximity of the Coast Guard training facility where they sometimes / (often?) practice their use of automatic weapons at the nearby gun range. When they do; you will here it!

Management response:
We are located adjacent to the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve training Center Yorktown. The curiculum includes all facets of Marine operations including small boat handling, Engineering, Inshore and off shore operations, Homeland Security and anti terrorism operations, Part of this includes firearms training. This is performed 1-2 days every 4-6 weeks when the class is in session.

I am here because of previous reviews and pleased to be here., 2017-05-14

4 23 2015 The reviews are all accurate. My boat is here in water for two months and then on the hard for four. I needed a ride to airport they happily drove me there no charge. Everyone is nice and friendly. it is pleasant place to stay. I came in near low tide and shallowest I measured was 6.1 feet but channel is narrow so stay in the middle. I draw 3' 8". Only negative was no laundry facilities so had to drive a few miles to take care of that. I rented car for weekend from Enterprise they pick you up special rate $9.99 a day and toured around area and provisioned supplies. They ordered oil filters for my generator and engine . Reasonable prices and delivered quickly. They stock lots of maintainance items in ships store and are willing to order what ever you need. 4 26 2016 they did my bottom paint last Sept when on the hard. I have returned again for same cycle of in water two months and on the hard four months. Good location to see historical triangle. Nice friendly place. 10 17 2016 Just had boat launched again after four months on the hard. All the staff and owners are a pleasure to do business with. Anything you need to get they seem to get it delivered in a day or two at resonable prices. Very accomodating to help you get work done on your boat. Nice peaceful setting away form hustle and bustle. 5 3 2017 Here again with six loopers waiting out strong winds for several days. Good protection from all the winds. Storing boat again for the summer. This is a nice place to chill out.

Well run and well protected from weather, 2016-08-07

4/2016 Update: another fine job with haul out and pressure washing. They treated my boat like it was their own.

4/26/13 Had our boat hauled and worked on here last month, they did a nice job. Very friendly and good service.

Wormley Creek Marina caters to DIY sailors and powerboaters, but also provides a full range of services as well. Everything on land is high, so never a worry during high waters, you know those Nor'easters and hurricaines.
I plan on going here for my next scheduled haul out.

Nice facility with floating docks. channel narrow but well marked.Stephanie and owners Doug and Pam were friendly and very helpful. Rented a car from Enterprise drove all over area; saw the historic triangle. Fuel available, fresh water at fuel dock, water at boat was well water, a little odor. Restrooms are concrete building, but clean and neat. Ship store has supplies, we got the wire we needed.

A Great Place to stop when visiting the Historic Triangle! InSpeyered 2, 2016-07-03

We came because of the reviews and the very good price. The reviews are correct, this Marina is in a lovely, quiet area, it is well maintained and very clean. The owners and staff were all very pleasant and helpful. I even got a ride to a nail salon for a pedicure by Pam, the marina owner. Would come back and recommend it to any transient boaters!

We stopped here on our way south and am glad we did. They gave very good directions to get there and someone was waiting at the ock when we arrived. Rate is very good, we stayed three weeks. We rode out a storm and some very high tides, but the docks were sound so we had no issues. Folks here are very friendly. We met several couples here and made some new friends that took us to get groceries several times.

We just spent 9 days here and had a great time! You need a car, but this marina is close to all of the Yorktown attractions, and only a half hour away by car from both Williamsburg and Jamestown. We rented a car from Enterprise so we could just come and go. Enterprise picked up and dropped off. The marina is quiet, surrounded by trees, protected. The owners live onsite, were very helpful and friendly. It's also a working yard, so you can have work done while you are out touring! Great Place! We will be back!

We kept our boat here for 6 weeks and had them do several jobs. Results were excellent, price was reasonable. Ryan, Chris and the rest of the crew were great.

We stayed here for two and a half months this summer and really enjoyed our stay. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The owners are great people ready to help with what ever you might need. They hauled our boat and installed new props for us and we were able to do our own work on some other things while the boat was out of the water. A great place to clear up some loose ends on your boat at very reasonable prices. We will be back.

We stayed here for the 2013 season.excellent staff, very helpful and plaisant.

The new floating slips are very nice. You can do your own work and the owners are always very helpful with anything you need.

It is a quiet spot with nice sunset.

Safest Marina on York River, 2014-03-17
Captain: , Yorktown, VA (10)

Wormley Creek Marina is a great, boater friendly destination. It is minutes from the Historic Triangle (Yorktown, Williamsburg, Jamestown). The owners are very helpful and enjoy boating as much as we do! The restrooms/showers are clean and, because of a local artist, are a topic of conversation with all who have visited. The ship's store is well stocked for maintenance items. Fuel, fresh water and pump-out are all available there. Wormley Creek is easy to navigate as long as you respect the channel markers - no exceptions! This is the best gunkhole on the York RIver. I would not be at any other marina in bad weather.

Good spot for service and peace and quiet, 2013-06-21
Captain: , Newport (131)

Engine overheated in river while leaving Yorktown. Strainer was ok, guessed it was impeller. Dropped anchor and called Towboat US.
Delightful small marina, very well protected. Very helpful staff and excellent service. Back up and running in little over hour but decided to stay the night. Will stop again.

Pleasant Spot, 2013-06-07
Captain: , Albemarle Plantation, NC (389)

Marina staff friendly and helpful. Prices pleasantly lower than expected. Store hours 0800-1700 M-F; 0900-1300 Sat. Full services available. Refinery and power plant disappear behind trees, so nature trumps industry. No shopping/groceries nearby.

Fuel Stop and Watch your markers!, 2012-05-14
Captain: , Fishing Bay VA (335)

Stopped in for Fuel, very nice people and great price with discounts. One word of caution, pay attention to the markers! very skinny water in here. Follow the approach markers from the York river. Once you round the little point and begin the left turn notice teh RED private buyoys near the slips, you need to head there and not straight in as there no water in front of you. Kinda confusing on my way in, but once I saw it I made it around to the fuel dock wich is next to the lift.
