Reviews for Winterport Boat Yard
This is well maintained yard that is investing in itself, 2016-06-21

A new travellift is underconstrution and wheel guides are being welded daily. It will be ready in the spring. A long Face dock is undergoing electrical upgrades. I came up river this morning with the rising tide and l was greated by Criag the yard manager who helped us tie up. I'm here for indoor winter storage and some upgrades on my 40 foot sail boat. Craig promised personalized oversight and work. I hope for a good further review in the spring. I have no need for the facilities so I can''t comment on that aspect. Wifi at the dock with a amplifyer ,ask Molly for the password. Don't expect a tote bag of do-dads, this appears to be a working boat yard that can do the job competantly at reasonable prices.
2016 update: The yard suffered the loss of a yard manager in January and that lead to the Owner Jim Griffiths and Henri Gignoux--an extermly competant mechanical engineer to take direct control of the works. They commisioned my boat with efficency, and Jim's wife and the yard secretary Nancy, even went to the boat to clean it and freshen it up. Winterport Marine even paid for two nights at the Homestead Inn in Searsport ( a lovey place) for myself and my wife while the boat was being set right. Winterport Marine are honest people who delt with a loss of qualified help in a prodfessional way once it was brought to their attention. The bill was reasonable.

They have gas, one clean shower room, and a secure fenced in yard. A nice picnic table at the top of the ramp from the floating docks Transient docking available about 34 dollars for a 23' boat if you have a Boat US card. A couple family style restaurants straight up the hill from the boatyards gate. At the top of the hill make a right a small pub has food and achoholic beverages. Sometimes a local band plays here, can be noisy.

Winterport Marine is ideally located for those who enjoy the water and the peaceful relaxation of Maine. Winterport is a quiet, quaint community on the Penobscot River, located 15 miles south of Bangor. It is convenient to Bangor International Airport and area shopping, as well as the charm of Penobscot Bay. They keep a clean secure boatyard and work hard to insure a positive experience for all who visit, stay, or store boats there.
