Reviews for White Point Marina
Great stop on the Potomac , 2017-07-02
Captain: , Chicago (630)

Stopped here 6/19 on our way to DC. We draw 5 ft and with good instructions had no issues getting in the entrance channel. We got fuel and then just moved back on same face dock which meant a quick hop for the pool. Excellent pool. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Owner told us he lived next door if we needed anything off hours.

Such A Nice Place, 2017-07-01
Captain: , Beaufort, S.C. (640)

Heading up the Potomac we were so pleased to find this wonderful gem of a marina. The people here are welcoming and helpful. The entrance channel is well marked, has plenty of water (we draw 4ft) and leads you to a pretty tree lined cove. We enjoyed our stay on the T- head with reliable 50amp power. There is a nice pool and a big lawn where our puppy had fun chasing his ball. A terrific relaxing stop!

Excellent Marina, 2017-04-01
Captain: , Athens, AL (112)

Stopped here for a couple of nights 3-30-2017 to recharge from five days on the hook headed to DC. This was before their season kicks of in a few weeks the hospitality was super. Rob and Drew were first rate in helpfulness and professionalism. Remote location was not a problem. Very clean and well kept facility. Ask about the Relish, if you try it you won't be disappointed.

Wondering Welcome, 2016-11-06
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (500)

We were met by Robert at the service dock, he was very pleasant and this time of year, Nov 6th. It was quiet, the bathrooms were very clean, pumped out our tank, filled our water tank and there is also a complimentary car to use to go to town for groceries. Internet is by the megabyte. 500 for fee then you have to pay there after. Very protetected area and would definitely recommend to future travelers.

Hands Down Best Marina, 2016-08-29
Captain: , Folly Beach (10)

Best marina on the river.....Rob and his team are great!!! Everything is clean, service is top notch. Pool is great, docks are in great condition. We love it there.....

nice little place, 2016-08-01
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, Fl (320)

So Rob and Drew are great hosts. We take 5 feet and was plenty of water. The place is spotless!!! The pool was spotless!!! So the yacht club was having a chicken dinner for members and we were invited up. How nice. Met some really nice people. Would definitely go back. They have a loner car if you need.

just pulled in here after reading previous reviews. A quiet we'll run marina. This is a stop for any one looking for a grand welcome, a quiet rest or in need of repairs.

Our new favorite marina on the south Potomac, 2016-07-13
Captain: , Occoquan, VA (354)

We stopped in here again our our way out to the bay and just as before, we loved it. Rob and Drew are the best hosts you could ask for and the whole property is immaculate. We will be going back again and again!!

If you have not stoped here, you are missing a great gem. Drew and crew are fantastic and the grounds and pool are spotless. Fuel prices are best I have found outside of our home marina. We will be going here again as a routine stop on our bay trips as well as for weekend getaways. There is no restaurant or bar but we like it that way as it is peaceful and there are only fellow boaters around. The charts show two high spots in the middle of the entrance channel but they never showed on my depth gage.

Nice quiet place + good for service, 2016-06-21
Captain: , Stafford, VA (1077)

This is a great overnight stop. It's easy in and out and the transient dockage is easy in/out. The management is very friendly and all the facilities are great, including a very nice pool. They don't have a restaurant onsite, but they will lend you a car to drive to one. There is no town though, so there's not much to do other than relax. 6/21/2016 update: This is also an excellent service location, possibly the best on the Potomac. We had our 1000 hour service done here plus some additional fiberglass repairs. All the work was done absolutely flawlessly and at a very good price.

Outstanding marina, 2016-06-11
Captain: , Au Gres, MI (42)

We bought our boat in September last year and it was docked here. We live in Michigan so I was concerned about the boat being so far away. Rob and his son in law, Drew took excellent care of the boat (and all the other boats) and checked on it every day while we were gone. They bend over backwards to meet your needs. I can't say enough good about them.

First Class Service, 2016-05-20
Captain: , Southport Queensland (300)

Very small marina celebrating 50 years of family ownership. Fixed docks but very good condition. My wife needed a doctor urgently and the owner Ron went ot of his way to find one for us and lent us his personal car. Just bring it back when you're done" Southern hospitality at its finest. Watch the crab pots on the way in just stay in the charted channel and plenty of water for our 5' draft at low tide.

Quite, Peacefull, and relaxing, 2015-09-14
Captain: , Racine, WI (525)

The previous review hit it on the head. This place is so peacefull you cannot help but relax. A little caution for depth getting there but our 5' draft was really not an issue. We just thought it was going to be.

Great place to visit, 2015-09-14
Captain: , Muskego, WI (20)

Fantastic hidden gem. Echo all of the other sentiments, but a few other items of note:
We draw 6.5 feet, no issues getting in.
Ask to be shown the "hidden trail" to the lake--a little spooky but worth the short hike!

Quiet Stop, 2015-09-12
Captain: , MV Red Head (3106)

This is a great spot to spend a few days on your way to DC or just to stop and relax. The cove is very pretty and nicely protected. The docks are well maintained and very sturdy. There's a great pool with an outdoor seating area if you want to meet with friends or just relax outside. They have a courtesy car so you can top up the galley before your next stop or forget the galley and eat out. The marina is family run and has a welcoming feel. Everyone says hello and makes you feel at home. All of that would be enough but in addition they have a full service boatyard should you need some unexpected repairs or if you want a peaceful place to stop and have maintenance items taken care of.

If you haven't stopped in you need to!

Best Marina on the Potomac, 2015-09-07
Captain: , Washington, DC (10)

Great family run marina. Great pool, bathrooms, slips, and staff. Supper clean and freindly. Used their courtsey car to go to town. All marinas should be like this. Thanks to Robert Redfearn for your leadership!

Very peaceful!, 2015-09-04
Captain: , Honolulu (712)

Nice spot tucked up into the bay. Two loaner cars available 24/7. Clean modern facility, great pool area. Visited the local museum, ate great hamburgers at the Backdraft. Stayed 9/29-30/15

White Point Marina, 2015-09-02
Captain: , New England (20)

Great Spot!!! Very clean Marina with good power and docks. My GPS showed there were two shallow areas near the green marker but there aren't, good water all the way in.

Great Hospitality, 2015-08-05
Captain: , Burke, Va. (30)

This marina is the ultimate in serenity. Rob Redfern is a gentleman that will do anything to make you comfortable. Use his vehicles to go into problem, no hassle. A real favorite for more than 20 years.

Wonderful! Wonderful!, 2015-07-14
Captain: , Knoxville, Tennessee (230)

Beautiful, quaint, and quiet marina! Rob was a most gracious host. Greeted us with a smile, helped us get settled in, and even gave us his home phone in case we needed anything after hours. (He lives on site). Very nice pool of which us and the 2 other transient boats enjoyed. Docks are fixed and in good shape. Wide slips with 50 finger docks. Also a face dock where we tied up with our 43' Ocean Alexander. Upon leaving a little after 7AM, Rob once again was down there to help us shove off. Will be stopping on our return trip from DC. Fuel prices are best we've seen

Great marina, 2015-07-04
Captain: , Occoquan Harbour (225)

Stayed one night wish it could have been more. Robert the owner met us and helped with the docking. Made us feel like part of the family which is what this marina is. Bathhouse was spotless probably the best on the Potomac.

Small, quiet, buttoned up, and expensive marina, 2015-07-03
Captain: , Richmond (223)

Very professional, mostly powerboats, very large roomy transient slips, but $70.00/night was a little rich for the area. Satff is very helpful and friendly, pool is small but quite nice with a view, grilling area well maintained as well. Bathrooms are spotless and cold on a hot day. Kayaks and canoes are available. Loaner car was a nice perk and necessary as ice machine was down. If you get the car, and you call ahead 3 miles away just after Kinsale and before the convenience store you can pick your order of fresh steamed crabs for dinner. The yard is a marine railway that looks like they take their work seriously. WiFi was reasonably fast, cell service was OK. Don't expect much from the tennis courts, though.

Serene and superb, 2015-06-13
Captain: , virginia beach (70)

Had the beautiful, quiet, friendly and helpful place to ourselves. Enjoyed the refreshing pool and relished in the solitude.

Tucked out of the way off the Potomac, 2015-06-01
Captain: , Nowhere,OK (1314)

As part of the Great Loop we took a side trip up the Potomac. Going up was the Eastern Shore, down was the Western Shore. This is a great maina, it's tucked up and around the corner of the Yecomo river. No waves no traffic.

People are nice and it has a massive railway lift and a full parts place. There is a loaner truck to take you around. This is the country, so expect wilderness.

The people here were super nice with recommendations, etc.

Traditional Chesapeake marina, 2014-09-21
Captain: , Beaufort, NC (290)

This is a grand old marina in the best tradition of the Bay. The approach can get a little shallow for sailboats, but it is worth the effort. Wifi is fine from the docks. Cell phone signal is weak but serviceable. A courtesy cal is available for local exploring. Note this is a rural area and what little commercial activity is available is at least 10 miles away; however, the drive is very scenic. The marina does not have a laundry facility, but the town of Callao has one of the nicest laundries we have seen.

Wonderful Hidden Spot, 2014-09-14
Captain: , Deltaville (51)

This place is beautiful. The docks have wide slips with great access. The pool has a great view. The facilities are pristene clean. The GPS indicated some tough spots coming into the marina but the reality was 10 to 12 feet all of the way. Robert Redfearn, the president, is a great guy.

What a gem! !, 2014-08-10
Captain: , Edgewater, MD (140)

Friendly staff and owners, gorgeous pool, immaculate bathroom. A very quiet spot to get some rest.

Well worth the trip!, 2014-07-23
Captain: , Havre de Grace, Md ac (50)

I stopped by here on a delivery in late March, Robert waited for me to come in even though we were running late. We borrowed his tuck and had a great dinner in town before returning to this beautiful place. It's incredible how pristine this place is, I look forward to my deliveries that give me an excuse to stop here. I've been back three times since March!

A Hidden Gem, 2014-05-31
Captain: , Annapolis (3379)

Somewhat off the beaten path, this is a very well maintained marina. Docks are strong clear, clean. Grounds are immaculate. A large pool and grills overlook a beautifull creek view. They have a small ships store and also have a loaner car if you need to reprovision or would like to go out to eat.

Gem of a Marina going or coming from DC!, 2014-05-21
Captain: , Northport MI (405)

Like other reviews, this is another of those "tucked away" gems of a marinas off the beaten path. Rob and Drew provided excellent professional and personal service. We had a minor repair on our outboard motor. Facilities are immaculate. Historic Kinsale is a short bike ride through pretty country. A little further is Historic Yeocomico Episcopal Church--services from 1706 to present.

A must place to visit off the Potomac on the Yeocomico River., 2013-10-06
Captain: , Mamaroneck (20)

Had the pleasure of visiting this marina on our trip north to DC. Rob is a first class dockmaster. The marina is very well run with nice docks and absolutely immaculate bathrooms. Pool and courtesy car are nice perks. Even got the morning paper delivered to our port side.

Great stop, 2013-08-04
Captain: , Wicomico Creek, MD (494)

Loaner car, large pool, immaculate bathrooms, a little isolated but great restaurants within loaner car distance.

Very Well-Tended Marina, 2013-07-13
Captain: , Seabrook, TX (323)

We were impressed with Rob Redfern's friendliness, eagerness to please, and obvious care of/for his marina. The pool was the perfect temperature and size, and the courtesy truck was serviceable. Kinsale is a nice town, but is lacking in restaurants and other shopping. Very clean showers/heads. Generally, a great place to stop upon entering the Potomac.

White Point, 2013-07-05
Captain: , Occoquan (36)

DOn't pass it by! Great place!

what a great stop!!!, 2013-05-27
Captain: , Bluffton, South Carolina (327)

Cannot say enough good things about Rob Redfern and this marina! In and out twice in the past two weeks and they have been great. Had a medical emergency and Ems was there in no time; even gave us a ride back from the ER! A very quiet and tranquil marina with a wonderful and attentive owner. Highly recommended.

Very Nice Stop will be back, 2012-09-19
Captain: , Stafford, VA (148)

staff very nice as well as helpful - nice pool - extremely nice bathroom and shower facilities - owner/operator came around the next morning with a newspaper - great added service - easy to find and get in and out of marina

One of the best marinas on the Potomac, 2012-08-08
Captain: , Colonial Beach, VA (650)

Visited for two nights July 15-16. Marina spotless. Owner operator friendly and professional. Courtesy car available. Beautiful swimming pool and very competitive diesel prices. No restaurant on grounds but crab purchase or restaurant avail with use of courtesy car. Have had work on boat done here (shaft and engine stuff). Very professional. Does not usually man the VHF so have to call on phone when arriving if in need of docking assistance.

Great Overnight, 2012-07-30
Captain: , Annapolis, md (33)

An extremely helpful staff coupled with nice slips, excellent pool and an overall pleasnat view of the surrounding creek made for one of our best stopovers in years. This place could not have been cleaner and the owner, Rob, could not have been more accomodating. I would reccomend ths place to anyone.

Wow, what a find!, 2012-07-07
Captain: , Las Vegas (322)

Stayed on 7/2/12. Quite a ways back up the channel but well worth the trip. We called ahead and told them we would be arriving about 7pm so they said take any slip. As we arrived the owner, Rob, walked out on the dock and helped us tie up plus gave us the tour. Seems he lives on property so he came down at 7am to get us fueled and on our way before they would normally open. And when I had my back turned he put a morning paper on the boat for us. Older place but extremely well maintained. Word of caution, IMMEDIATELY East of the fuel dock becomes very shallow. Otherwise a terrific place.

Great Stop, 2012-05-14
Captain: , Mackinaw City, MI (60)

Very nice quiet and protected marina. The owner, Rob couldn't have been nicer. Extremely helpful in tying up the boat. Called three restaurants for us to see who would be open on Mother's Day and then gave us directions and a car to use to get there. We have been on the Loop for nearly 9 months and over 5,000 mile and the washrooms here were the CLEANEST we have ever encountered. This place is a must stop. Would give it 5 stars if it had CATV and WIFI.

Quiet, clean and friendly, 2011-08-17
Captain: , Washington DC (57)

Crystal clean pool, well kept grounds and friendly owners. There is not much to do here other than swim, walks in the woods, dinners with friends. Cell phones barley work, and thats ok, because this is a quiet spot off the Potomac. They have a marina car which you can take to get supplies or go to some of the great local resturants. Also, if your taking more than 200 gallons of diesel and paying cash, you can get the cheapest prices on the river.

Captain: , Germantown, TN (181)

Robert Redfearn went above and beyond to help us. We needed to dock our boat in the area of his marina for a week to take care of some business but was having trouble finding a rent car. Bob talked to Enterrpise and arranged to have the car dropped off and picked up without us being there. He adjusted lines in our absence to prepare for a storm and the morning newspaper was on the aft deck the first morning we were back!

The restrooms are the cleanest I have ever seen and the docks and grounds are well maintained.

out in the middle of nowhere, but very nice, 2011-07-20
Captain: , Charleston (241)

Although it was a very remote location, we were delighted with this marina. Robert Redfearn couldn't have been nicer! He helped us dock our boat, offered us a loaner car to go to dinner, and offered his phone as our cell phone coverage was poor. it was a very neat and tidy marina. They had a nice pool and clubhouse. Very quiet, tool I would recommend this marina anytime, and we would definitely stay there again!

Hidden gem, 2011-07-13
Captain: , Palmetto Fl (545)

Bob, the owner makes you feel welcome from the get -go. Fuel is cheap, pool is great, nobody here during the week, unbelievably clean bathrooms, courtesy car, discount on slips for cruising club members, discount if paying for fuel with cash or check and let's not forget the 17.5 cent rebate from Virginia on road use tax. I never heard of it until Bob told me about it. There's no restaurant or laundry but who cares. I'd come back again and again.

clean and quiet, 2011-05-27
Captain: , Colonial Beach (91)

This is one of our favorite potomac spots. Stayed here many times and never disappointed. Bathrooms and grounds are spotless...a nice change from most potomac marinas. Rob (the owner) is great and always helpful. Nice size pool...also very clean and tidy. Small hardware store on site. Patio is close and gas grillls included. They own there own pumps and fuel/diesel prices generally a few cents lower than other places (no ethanol). Local morning paper on the transom was a nice touch.

Clean and Quiet, 2011-04-15
Captain: , Solomons, MD (464)

My home marina and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Nice Quiet (very) place, 2010-07-28
Captain: , Lottsburg, Va (264)

The boat was there this spring for bottom paint and replacement of 1 exhaust hose that I knew was leaking. They discovered larger problem with exhaust and called me to suggest I take a look. Glad they caught it. Turned into a expensive "bottom job" but their diligence prevented a catastrophic failure. Nice people, a little slow competing the job but when finished it was hard to tell they'd been aboard.
I would use them again.
While there we visited the facilities, very clean, nice pool; several cruising groups showed up on weekends but still a quiet marina.
easy access, plenty of depth, railway no lift. There is a resturant at another nearby marina and in Kinsale at the bridge about 2 -3 miles away, other than that, not much around. Permanant slip holders include 2 Flemmings and an Island Packet; high class neighborhood.
