Reviews for White City Bulkhead
Nice quiet stop, 2016-12-02
Captain: , Grand Rivers, Ky (2206)

12-1-16 Nice place to stop between Panama City and Apalatchacola or Careabelle. Tied to the floating dock with 7ft of water at low tide. Didn't try the power.

Nice quiet place for free, 2015-12-04

I stayed inside the marina and tied off to the starboard (as you enter) dock and saw 5'. On the port side it got down to 3'. No services here, no power, no water, but a great stop. A small store is a walk away. Under the bridge and turn left on to the main road. About a mile or less.

It has a max of 4 nights you can stay until you maybe asked to move on. There were two other boats inside, the wall outside was empty. No fishermen were around just the small fishing boats.

Floating dock, 2014-05-31
Captain: , Galveston, TX (599)

Tied up with plenty of water, after heavy rains, with a steady current pulling to the east. Don't expect any courtesy from the bass boats. We were happy to hear the engines slow down, when they did, but we were still up at each pass expecting to get waked.
Otherwise, great facility, with a picnic area, playground, and heads. No shore power on the floating dock.

Great Nature Stop, 2013-04-13
Captain: , Anna Maria Island (573)

To date we have stayed here twice 2012/13 one night each time. Our first visit we tied to the lay a long just past the face dock (the one where everyone fishes) min. tide about 6' of water there.
Our last visit we tied to the floating dock we draw 5' and had plenty of water. The current runs from the Apalachicola toward St. Joe keep this in mind when docking. Our approach was from Aplach. we had plenty of depth with aproaching the dock from either direction. Always good to know when your coming up to a new dock. The fisher folks were always fun to chat with and respectful. Lots of bird life and frendly folks up til dark then very peaceful.

Great free dock, 2013-02-01
Captain: , Oshkosh , WI (194)

This was a very nice floating dock. It was easy to dock but not a lot of water at low tide. We draft 4.5 and it was good for us. We had an added bonus of a great sunset with an otter swimming around the dock and a fabulous sunrise down the ICW. Not a lot of light pollution so the stars were very visible.

Get here by mid afternoon if possible, 2012-02-22
Captain: , Lighthouse Pt, Florida (90)

We tied up at the floating dock and had a good night. But, we arrived just at dark and several fisherpeople were on the dock and told us we could not dock there while they were there. We tried the fixed docks at the boat ramp but there is not enough water. We did not try the bulkhead. After about 30 minutes the fisherpeople left and we tied up. People were fishing until midnight on the bulkhead, but it was a quiet and peaceful night.

Nice free docks!, 2011-12-04
Captain: , Panama City, FL (200)

Docks are fixed pilings and look very new. There is room for five to six 30-40 ft boats to fit with good water depth on the east dock and the head dock. Docks are city owned and in a park with two boat ramps. There are plenty of water spigots and 110 electric outlets. This is a really good place to hole up and wait on weather before a gulf crossing. About twenty miles of ICW to Appalachicola Bay.

Shallow water, 2011-11-25
Captain: , Corpus Christi (301)

The floating dock was already taken. I could not get into the middle fixed dock as I ran out of water so I tied up on the bulkhead at the end close to the channel. There was plenty of water here.

Good overnight stop, 2011-04-27
Captain: , North Palm Beach, FL (539)

Stopped here 4/27/11 for overnight. Tied 52 Ft, 5 foot draft vessel to the floating dock which is about 70 feet long. It is subject to fairly strong tidal current at times, but not difficult to approach as it parallels the river. The "bulkhead" is perpendicular to the river and not affected by current. I could have tied to the bulkhead with little problem. I was told depth alongside is sufficient for my 5 foot draft. Don't tie to the lower level docks to the west that serve the launching ramps because the water is shallower.

White City free dock, 2009-10-13
Captain: , Grand Haven, Mi (2283)

We were here in June of 2009 and new docks were being constructed. We tied to the dock on the ICW with no problem in 12 feet of water at the dock. A convenience store/gas station is available about a half mile form the dock. It is very small with very limited supplies but has ice cream which is good on a hot day. The dock is free.

Small Sailboat Cruising, 2009-05-19
Captain: , Carrabelle (364)

There is a floating dock here that looks fairly new. It can easily accomdate two 30 footers. There are also restrooms that are open all night and a picnic pavillion. I was told that there is a convenience store about 1/2 mile away going north towards White City.
