Beatifullly secluded Worton Creek. Very sheltered marina, but is only 15 minutes off of the bay. Quiet, peaceful, low-traffic area of Eastern Shore. Closest larger town is Chestertown, about 15 minutes by car.

Reviews for Wharf At Handys Point
Beautiful, Relaxed, Great People, 2017-02-02
Captain: , Worton Creek, MD (56)

I fell in love with The Wharf the first time I walked onto its docks. Its slip holders are 90% sailboats. The marina is a well kept, no-frills affair: No tiki-bars, live bands, floating kegs, etc. For me, the lack of these 'amenities' is actually a huge plus, so it really depends on what you seek in a marina, to judge if this is the right marina for you.

The waterhouse is simple, clean and functional. The slips have running water and power service. The docks are solid.

The family that manages the marina is fantastic. The hired staff goes out of thier way to help you. Fellow slip holders are all very friendly.

So, combine great people with a well-kept facility, reasonable fees, a great location, and opportunity to witness one of the finest sunsets on the Chessie, and you have The Wharf at Handy's Point.

Great place , 2014-05-12

I keep my boat here now. Second year. Nice place, good people. Simple, clean, quiet and lovely. Well protected and deep easy access. Some of the fairways might be considered a little narrow but people make due. Prevailing winds during spring and summer are southerly. No store or fuel. Ice, lift and pump out. Pepper Gilbert runs the marina and is a knowledgeable guy. Docks and slips are solid.

Great stay, 2013-06-07

We stayed 5/29. Pepper is a gracious and friendly host. The marina is well taken care of. Clean restrooms and laundry.

First class service, beautiful location, 2013-04-09
Captain: , Worton Creek, MD (290)

This is my home port, so I know this place well. Pepper and Alice run a no-frills, but first class marina. There is nothing fancy here, but your boat will be well-looked after, and it is located in a beautiful spot. Pepper lives and breathes customer service, so his slips are always full. This is one of those places you love to tell others about.

There are transient slips, but little in the way of provisioning or chandlery. Rock Hall is 20 minutes south by car, the beautiful town of Chestertown is about 15 minutes away.

The Wharf Restaurant, 2012-09-05
Captain: , Kent Island Maryland (110)

Dropped in on a Friday night (no reservations) with 10 people at 9 p.m. and the service was excellent and food great. Our waitress (Tee) did a perfect job and didn't seem to mind that we were the last ones there.

Nicely maintained, 2010-11-17
Captain: , Camden, ME (443)

This is a nicely maintained marina with an accomodating and friendly operator. The facilities are clean and up to date and slips are well protected. Nice showers. Downside is lack of lounge or club room, no WiFi, and spotty wireless coverage - at least for AT&T. There is a very limited store next door at Green Point Landing Marina, with snacks and a few boating maintenance items.

Great spot, 2009-12-07
Captain: , Worton (445)

The marina is beautifully built on the bank of Worton Creek. Pepper and Alice are wonderful stewards. The marina is very quiet most of the time and you need a vehicle to get any supplies. Pepper does a very busy haul out business for winter storage. Easy access to the Bay and well protected.
