Reviews for West Shore Marine Service
Classic Hudson - One particular harbor!, 2016-02-16
Captain: , West Shore Marine Marlboro NY (25)

Quiet and simple place for a stop over if you are transient but a very peaceful place to be for a regular harbor. Freindly neighbors, quiet BBQ's, Sunday afternoon horseshoes, reasonable rates and first rate mechanical services along with beautiful sunsets, stunning sunrises, and Striped Bass under the dock make this our "One Particular Harbor."

Great and fast service, 2015-07-02
Captain: , Tonawanda,NY (261)

Had to have new shaft on our sailboat. New shaft, coupleing and stuffing box the next day.

OK spot for the night, 2015-06-12

Marina is not fancy to say the least. Limited restrooms and only one shower (no good if you have claustrophobia). No shopping or store. Because anchorages are so limited on the river you can't be choosy.

We hit a log in Hudson debris field near West Point and needed to get hauled. Called local marinas and with 14.5' beam many marinas could not do the haul. By references eventually found Gabe at Precision Propellers in Newburgh who suggested best mechanics were at West Shore Marina so we slowly motored 5 hours and arrived after closing. Alex had set up a slip for us and the next morning we were hauled at 8:30, props off by 9:30, props delivered to Gabe, both back by 4:30 and on the shafts by 6 pm.
Put boat in the water at high tide the next morning- Saturday.
Alex, Luke and Joe are real pros and I would entrust any work to them.
We were back on the trip with a 48 hour delay and the pricing was fair, especially since it was after hours and launched on the weekend.
BTW, excellent bakery up the hill and we had a fine dinner at Racoon Saloon.

Different, but very helpful, 2012-11-16
Captain: , Roseville MN (398)

Interesting marina on the west side of the Hudson, across from Poughkeepsie (well, actually, Wappingers Falls). No other transients here. GREAT dockhands; they gave us a ride into Marlboro (a mile up the hill), for dinner and a haircut. The restrooms were pretty basic (halfway between hotel-quality and outhouse) but okay. Nice change of pace from regular marinas.

Not the best choice, 2012-08-06
Captain: , Michigan City (349)

Although the owner was very helpful, the docks were in fair shape and the head and shower facilities were minimal.
