Reviews for West Shore Marina

We stayed here one night. The dockhands were prompt, helpful, and did a nice job of getting us tied up. The facilities are clean, modern, and nice. The pool was very clean as were the heads and showers. It's a decent walk to town, but there are some stores close by for simple provisions.

went to huntington over past wknd , west shore was definatly best marina there , nice pool, docks, dock hands could use a little work but good enough, and very friendly ,security guard very nice ,they have a gate guard at night.... MY only 2 issues where that the marina is a long walk to town , the road is a twisting road with mostly no sidewalks ,so it was dangerous walking back from at night ,even during the day ,and no wifi.... my wife likes wifi I didnt miss it but if its important to you just a heads up
dinner at piccolos was excellent ,& deli that is nearby was also very good
On a whole good time was had by all

Stayed evening of July 22, 2015. Not cheap but service was great, showers fantastic. Convienent floating finger docks and security at night. Only thing missing was a recycle bin. A healthy but doable walk to town.

Good location, but would only spend 1 night next time, 2014-08-04

Nice facility with excellent docks, but make sure you ask to ensure they have 240 volts AC if you need 240. A friend traveling with us needed to move three times because he kept getting 200 volts (they had voltage sag issues on their docks). Pool was nice but far walk from the docks. About 1/2 to 1 mile from town. If you go check out Piccolo's - best meal I have had in a very long time.

Worth the Trip, 2014-06-26

We have stayed at West Shore Marina several times. It is approximately a 20 minute ride from the mouth of the inlet until you reach the Marina. The surroundings are worth viewing, from larger boats to magnificent water front homes. When you reach the marina, there are dock hands available to assist you into the slips. At times the wind and current can be a little tricky, but the dock hands are knowledgeable and very helpful. 30 or 50 amp service is available. The docks are wide and in good shape. There is an Azimut dealer on site and therefore there are plenty of boats to view should you so choose. The Marina is across from Prime, whish often times has live music. We loved it, but if you are looking for a quiet evening, make inquiry of the restaurant before you book a slip. The walk around the harbor to get to Prime (the "place to be seen") or our favorite, Tutto Pazzo, is about one mile...but it is a very easy mile to traverse. After the meal at Tutto Pazzo, you will need the walk. The portions are very large and you can probably get away with one entree. A lot closer to the Marina is the Gold Coast Deli. Great sandwiches and the friendliest hostess you ever had the pleasure of meeting. there are waterfront tables available making the dining experience even more pleasurable. If you are up for a longer walk, ask for directions to Hecksher State Park and Museum. The exhibits change and are worth seeing. If you are really ambitious, you can walk into Huntington proper (probably 3 miles). All in all, a great stopover.

Best Marina in Huntington, 2014-03-30

We have kept our boat here for the last 12 seasons. This is a very well maintained marina where in the last four years they have replaced the docks and upgraded the electric service. The staff are always helpful and Carl is a great resource. Close to town and some restaurants are walkable. Highly recommend.

Great Marina in Huntington, 2013-09-08
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

There are many marinas in this bay, and West Shore is at the top. The facility is superb, with a Ship's store, clean showers/bathrooms, and friendly service. It is expensive but this is Long Island Sound. The Dockmaster did a great job in guiding us into the marina and helping us with our lines. All in all a very nice marina.

This is a wonderful stop. The marina is beautiful and has a pool. And the town is not too far. The prices are a bit high but it's a great stop.
