Reviews for Watt's Bay (Pennsylvania DCNR)
Shallow entry, 2014-12-31
Captain: , New Sewickley (21)

The launch to the west is in rather shallow water. Later in the summer it is not possible drop the daggerboard (3 foot total draft) in a dinghy until well away from the dock. The wind is predominantly toward the dock from the water, making launches a bit challenging. Bring and oar. I don't know about the docks a 100 to 200 yards to the to the east since it is not next to the parking lot, this area being reserved for those who have leased spaces to keep their boats and park their cars while sailing.

Dry Mooring -, 2011-12-20
Captain: , Indiana, PA (83)

This facility serves 100+ dinghy and small keel boats which are dry sailed.

Covered picnic areas; parking; 4 launch ramps (3 for those using moorings, one "public). Finger piers for tie-off. Ramp at Davis hollow to the east is steeper and deeper for fixed keel boats.

Public bathroom. No showers.

The lake is a popular sailing location north of Pittsburgh, where you will see everything from Optimists and Sunfish to Oday and Catalina 25s. There is an active Flying Scot racing fleet out of Watt's Bay as well. See Moraine Sailing Club.
