Reviews for Washington Park Municipal Marina
Huge marina but far away from almost everything, 2017-03-30
Captain: , Muskegon MI (265)

Fixed steel dock with narrow fairways. Downtown is a hike but there is an outlet mall on the way. Gates and bath house are accessed with fob. Recived a wonderful care package when we arrived with photos, pamphlets, and other items. Very nice.

I would stop here again..., 2016-09-18
Captain: , St Louis (320)

Plenty of water, very helpful and friendly staff, clean, secure (you need a key to access your dock), laundry, a short walk to the train station, very reasonable cost, well protected from storms, next to a small sandwich shop, walking to Michigan City Yacht Club, Wifi that works, and a safe area.
The beach is a short walk away.

clean and convenient, 2016-09-12
Captain: , Baltimore (181)

Nice marina in very good shape. High docks for many boats, but nice for us. As mentioned before, not enough showers. Helpful staff. Good rates ($1.25 / ft)

Good stop before crossing to Chicago, 2016-07-31
Captain: , Naples, FL (682)

This marina is right off the lake near the harbor entrance but is very well protected from lake swells. The fuel dock is at the end of one of the fairways so not easy to get to but necessary for check-in and slip assignment for those without a reservation.
The slips are quite high even with the lake 32 inches above datum. But they are sturdy and in good repair.
The marina is a short walk from town where there is an excellent craft brewery/restaurant and a premium shopping outlet. Surprisingly there is only one shower in each of the male and female the bathroom facilities.

Very secure marine, 2015-09-08
Captain: , Solomons Island Md (417)

Left the boat here for a week while on the loop. Nice secure municiple facility. 24 hr security and locked gates. Do not get a slip next to the fuel docks under the trees. Between the trees and the coal fired power plant next door your boat will be a mess. The slips further out would be fine. The facilities are nice and the captains lounge and other facilities were being remodled. The people in the marina are very friendly. Several offered to take use in their car.

Large, protected, and well-maintained...but some oddities, 2015-07-20
Captain: , Iuka, MS (1130)

Just off the lake but very calm. Good value at ~$1/ft. Fuel dock not very convenient--all the way down a fairway. And only one shower per restroom for a huge place. Docks are rather high even with the lake up.

Good safe stop, 2014-09-03
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1997)

A newer marina close to the lake.
Facilities appear in good condition and the restrooms were clean.
Staff did not answer the telephone and message stated they were closed which at 3:00 pm seemed weird.
However upon arrival security monitors channel 9 and met us at a slip.
Very pleasant and helpful guy. We did not explore the city as we got in late and left early to beat nasty forecasted weather.
Still I would return again.

Awesome suprise excellent marina!!, 2013-05-21
Captain: , Michigan city, In (90)

Fuel docks, excellent clean large showers and bathrooms, Ice in many locations $1.50 per bag. Clean docks & nice people 24hr security. Easy walking distance to a beautiful beach,Lighthouse outlet mall - huge, Blue Chip Casino & Spa, Langs Meat market (outstanding meats), lighthouse museum, large Zoo, Park with shelters, Art Museum, Amtrack station and much more its unbelieveable!! Best kept secret in Indiana!!

Well maintained, economical marina, 2012-08-14
Captain: , Naples, FL (1096)

August 2011-Quiet marina in spite of large number of slips. Bikes will take you to the Saturday morning famers market (a must) as well as the outlet mall (great place to replace those t-shirts). We found the marina to be in very good condition. Michigan City is in the midst of a revitalisation project and it will be great to see the results when it is completed.

August 2012 an added note from last years stay: You must try the Popeye pizza made at the dockside cafe. Best pizza we had in a long time.

Clean and Comfortable, 2012-07-24
Captain: , Guntersville, AL (451)

A very large marina in a well protected harbor. The marina is well managed. They helped me change oil on my engines by providing waste oil containers. B&E Marine near by has an excellent ships store. Diesel price at Washington Park Municipal Marina was $3.99 on this date.

Nice facility. Fuel dock is hard to navigate on a busy weekend

Well maintained, 2011-09-25
Captain: , Portage In (70)

quiet, clean and well maintained facilities.

Washington Marina, 2011-09-11
Captain: , Cape Canaveral (1191)

Lots of rollers entering breakwater, but it cut them down, then full stop at entry with 90 degree turn, a horn blast, and a low anxiety entry and docking. Good spot.

Michigan City, 2010-09-14
Captain: , Whitehall, Mi (1754)

Clean well maintained marina. The marina is quite large and it is a hike just to get to the office if they put you on the pier closest to the beach.
Docks are high and they put us in a tight slip that was barely wide enough.
The park and beach are nice during the day, but not much around and at night a little questionable looking.

Nice clear marina, 2010-09-04
Captain: , Collierville TN (977)

good docks. Good little restaurant across the parking lot.

Nice, clean place to stop, 2010-07-21
Captain: , Chicago, IL, USA (840)

Docks are in great shape, area nicely landscaped, 24 hour security available on channel 9. Careful entering and leaving harbor, narrow cut in seawall with limited sightlines, sound horn and listen. Sailboats watch your depth near fuel dock.

it's ok, 2007-08-10
Captain: , Key Largo (5457)

fixed high dock, good rate, not close to supplies, nice dockmaster
