Reviews for Vuda Point Marina
Everything is as Advertised!, 2017-05-10

We hauled in May 2017 and hired 2 men for two days. EXCELLENT work, and had the bottom ready for paint in half the time I thought it was going to take. Adam does a great job running the operation, and his staff are friendly and compitant. This is one of the first places we have ever stayed where even after a few days the staff knew our names... We felt pretty special. Good access to town for provisioning and the local trade people seem to know their stuff.... Great specials at the bar!

Hauled my 42 ft Adams Malua and got great help from staff and support companies. Great experience. A good meeting place for other cruisers and local information. This is second time in ten years - improves all the time.

Vuda Marina is a family owned and operated Marina purpose bult in 1996. We have 2 seasons - "Cylone Season (1st Nov - 30th Apr)" and "Sailing Season (1st May - 31st Oct)".

During cyclone season we earn our reputation as being the best storm shelter in Fiji with many unique features including cyclone pits, surge booms, spending basins and experienced staff to help you out and provide advise. Most insurance companies will cover you if you are with us during a storm.

During Sailing Season we are best suited to yachts that need provisioning, fuel, and repair works. Our close proximity to Lautoka market makes shopping very affordable with an abundance of fresh, local produce. We are only 17 minutes from Nadi Airport so pickup and drop off of passengers and crew is very easy. Onsite are numerous contractors to assist with your repairs and we have a pool of casual labourers for any odd jobs and some grunt work.

Accommodation is available for those wishing to get off their yachts for a while, especially while work is being done. Our cottages are all airconditioned, and have flat screen TVs, double bed and sofa bed (so can sleep 4), private ensuite and within close proximity to your yacht. Prices are approx US$65 per night. There is also a "cabin" available for US$27 which is also airconditioned and has a TV but no private ensuite. All rooms are serviced daily.

While you are staying with us we also try to make it as enjoyable as possible with a restaurant and bar that features numerous specials such as live bands, moonlight cinemas, our always popular pizza night on Tuesday where you can pick up a pizza for approx US$7 or our Thursday night happy hour where beers cost about US$2 or a glass of wine for US$3. There is also a cafe open for breakfast and lunch where you can get some light meals and great coffees.

We also have customs clearance at Vuda Marina whereby you can clear into or out of the country. Advance notification is required and there a variety of forms that are needed to be completed so check with us first. Note that arrival without advance notice could result in a penalty being imposed by the authorities.

The details you need to know -
Number of inwater berths - 78
Hardstand space - 40
Cyclone Pits - 40
Depth of Marina and Channel - 3m at low tide
Largest length of yacht permissible in Marina - 80' (although there are limited berths that can take this). Average length of yacht is 40' - 60'.
We do not offer reservations as we are on a first come, first served basis however if you advise us of your arrival in advance you will be placed at the top of the waitlist. Most times, a berth is available immediately but sometimes during peak times you may need to wait a day or so in our 'spill-over' areas.

We employ more than 40 staff and we are all here to help you and to make your stay more enjoyable. If there is anything we can do to assist, please do let us know. We are not a 5 star Marina (that would be Denarau across the bay - A lovely Marina) but we are a fun, enjoyable, affordable and personable Marina with great staff who love their job and working in the marine industry.

Please contact us beforehand if you need further information -

Thanks for reading and welcome to Fiji. BULA!

Good, well-run marina, decent facilities, 2013-02-04
Captain: , Melbourne, FL (167)

Vuda Point is a marina with a haulout yard. It is pretty well run--98% up to First World standards. There are 2 restaurant/bars, a small grocery store, and a fairly well-stocked marine store. "Town" is either Nadi or Lautoka. Neither is in walking distance, but there are inexpensive taxis on the marina grounds, and very cheap buses in walking distance. But the whole ride to Nadi is about 90 minutes!!
