Reviews for Voyageurs Marina
shallow with no planning for transients, 2010-08-06
Captain: , Ripley, MI (32)

Whatever the charts, books, and locals say, you cannot get in this marina with anything over 4.7 ft of draft. There is a ROCK shoal about 50ft from the dock. They say the ferry is 6ft draft. If it is, then that must be with float bags attached. We banged around our keel for an hour trying to get in and out of here. The "marina" is just a dock for the locals and ferries. There is a nice protected bay, but it appears to be all rock, so anchorage is probably awful. This marina is on the EAST side of the bay where the ferry route ends on the EAST side. There is another marina called "Grand Portage Marina" near the casino on the northwest, also with shallow water (see other review).
