Reviews for Volunteer Landing Marina
Volunteer Landing, 2015-11-25
Captain: , Atlanta (33)

Only place to get diesel fuel upsteam from Ft Loudon Marina and prices reflect that. People are usually very helpful and friendly here, but last time I came in, had to get myself tied up and go inside to find someone working.

Good Visit to Knoxville, 2015-10-30
Captain: , Portsmouth, VA (430)

Everyone at the marina was courteous and helpful. We have family in the area and this is a good place to stay. All our needs were provided, docking, electric, water ... what more can a boater want.

Great Location in downtown, 2012-08-27
Captain: , jackson, TN (884)

Marina is convenient to downtown and the free downtown trolly service. Transient docks are short - 25 & 15' Fuel prices are very high relative to other marinas and yacht clubs on the river. Heads are only open when the store is. There are no showers. No courtsey car. Considering most marinas on the river are $1 a foot or less, this one is overpriced at $2 for the services it offers. They usually don't answer the the phone and do not answer the VHF. Local liveaboards are very friendly. The marina and the river will be full when the Tenn. Vols have a home football game, so plan accordingly. Ship's store has basics and a good supply of Vol Navy items.

A great way to visit downtown Knoxville!, 2011-10-16
Captain: , Oneida, TN (415)

We had originally planned to tie at the free wall, but even mid-week, there are a LOT of folks there if it's a week between two home games! We were most fortunate to encounter Joe and learn (to our surprise) that he could make room for us over at the marina. Services are somewhat limited, but the facility, location and staff were GREAT! Great stop!

Captain: , Franklin Tn (441)

Marina is close to walking path on riverfront, close to downtown and restaurants. Joe was fantastic!! He made our stay very enjoyable.

Only Marina Near City, 2011-07-11
Captain: , North Palm Beach, FL (539)

Primarily a marina for local boats including lots of large house boats. Could not reach them by phone on Sunday because the manager is not present and he forwards the phone to his home -- but does not answer or return calls. Recommend you call ahead a day or two. Two UT students were the staff and got us a spot for our 52 foot boat. They were helpful and friendly. A walking/biking trail passes right by the marina and runs along the waterfront. Many restaurants are at Market Square which is about a mile walk into the city. This is not a fancy marina or a resort, but it is functional and close to the city center.

Off Football Season Prices, 2010-06-13
Captain: , Silverthorne, CO (373)

They charge $1/foot if it is not football season. They don't monitor or anwer anything but they are very nice after you find a slip.

Stay at the City Docks, 2009-11-22
Captain: , Melbourne Florida (4616)

Not worth $2 per/ft for only water and elect

Best for Vol football game days, 2008-08-04
Captain: , Chattanooga (202)

The size of the slips is impressive, however there are really no marina amenities beyond CATV ($10 per night). Very close to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (maybe 25 yards) and Calhouns Ribs (probably 1/3 mile). Docks and water were dirty looking and the staff did not answer either telephone or VHF calls.
