Reviews for Virginia Boat and Yacht Service
Not fancy But Wonderful People & Outstanding Service, 2014-02-20
Captain: , Portsmouth, VA (10)

This is a very old marina closely asscoiated with a working yard and nearby Western Branch Deisel which owns the place. They have a large travel lift and a DIY yard.

I have kept boats there off and on for fifteen years and have loved the top notch yard help and friendly staff. The manager, Bill Hughes, is very knowledgeable and could not be more accomodating.

They're a little off the beaten path (by water), but convenient by land. No fuel dock or easy access to stores but if you are looking for a place to put in and deal with a mechanical issue, or if you are looking for a long term home and like me prefer shabby chic, this is da place.

I only withheld a five star rating because the docks are a little dated and because the marina lacks a fuel dock.
