Reviews for Vinette Boatworks
Agree with Adena's Review, 2015-02-08
Captain: , Escanaba, Mi (10)

I agree with Adena's review. Owner is highly experienced sailor and boat builder. He has serviced my boats for over 30 years. I've come to rely on him for even minor services and repairs. His charges have always been very reasonable. Access tp facility requires local knowledge so call in advance for instructions and location of privately maintained buoys. I've discovered that the rocks in the submerged crib to north of channel are very hard.

Very knowledgeable owner and staff, 2014-06-14

This boatyard is not fancy, but their owner and staff are very experienced sailors. Vinette Boatworks has been in business over 80 years, former boat builders (primarily aluminum and steel workboats), and can fix almost anything - or know who to call.
Owner/staff have raced and cruised the North Atlantic and Caribbean, raced the Transpac, etc. Friendly and reasonably priced.

Location in heavy industrial area is not pristine. They have inside unheated and outside storage, with fencing and locked gates, DIY friendly boatyard. Boats are stored on cradles with masts down. ~30 Ton closed end hoist with crane for efficient launch and haul out with highly skilled crew.
