Reviews for Village Dock, Clayton
Day dock for town of Clayton, 2015-02-16
Captain: , Gananoque ,Ontario Canada (430)

This is the Clayton town day dock which has a video check-in for customs. There are washrooms no shower. Very clean and well kept and the town attendents are always there to help with your lines. There is a donation box. Very short walk to all ammenities except spirits. Very friendly locals and the floating docks will accomodate a 47 ft vessel. Downside is there is alot of traffic and lots of wakes be very cautious and aware of everybody around you as you dock as it is also usually windy here too. You can stay overnight if need be, it is signed as no overnight but the attendent will not ask you to leave just dont stay more then one night. There is a wall nearby that has lots of dockage and I believe permits overnight but open to all elements be sure to put lots of fenders out.

Nice dock for overnight, 2013-08-27

Nice dock to stay for seeing the town of Clayton. Clean restrooms, friendly dockmaster. $1.25 per foot includes electricity. Recommend Bellas restaurant. Cheese shop is a great stop. Museum is a must see!

Confusion on this dock , 2013-08-27
Captain: , Key Biscayne FL (3103)

This is not the main municipal dock which is west, around the point. Last few reviews were actually about the main dock. These light floating docks are for smaller boats coming from the cottages. Dock at the big new face dock just east best short term docking.

OK, if you don't mind rocking., 2011-07-08

Only two 50 amp pedistals - at end of dock. Not much help from dockmaster, but people stop for the day and it is hard to tell who is there for the night from those visiting during the day.

Lots of wake and a lot of rocking, but you are steps from the Antique Boat Museum that is worth the visit.

In clam weather its a nice place to park the boat. But if there is a lot of wind its hard to get in and out.

Right in Clayton, just steps from the Antique Boat Museum, which is awesome. Dockmaster was not too friendly and didn't bother to help tie up, but was there to collect money, $1.25 a foot. Only have 2 - 50 amp power pedestals, both at the end of the dock. Lots of wakes from locals!!

For cruising boats, this marina is not recommended, as the facility is very exposed to wind driven seas and large wakes from The St. Lawrence, and is very rough. It is the place to stop for US Customs and Border Protection, which has a camera-based location just east of the marina.

One of the best municipal sites, 2007-10-21

Right downtown. Can accomodate 120+ foot boats. Not for extended stays but great to shop, go to restaurants etc.
