Reviews for Vilano Beach Town Dock
2 13 2017 Observed Dock now reopened for use, 2017-02-13

Town dock is connected to Fishing pier for access

Access to this dock is CLOSED FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2016, 2016-06-11
Captain: , St. Augustine (30)

This is an advisory that the Vilano fishing pier is closed for maintenance. It is scheduled to reopen "sometime in 2017". As a result, although you can tie up at the floating dock, you cannot get to land. It is a construction area and completely barricaded so there is NO shore access.

This is the tie up for a real grocery store, 2015-12-27
Captain: , Bristol, RI (782)

This dock is where you go to get into Vilano and to a Publix Grocery Store. Lock your dingy here but never had a problem. Publix is less than a 1/4 mile straight ahead.

Great resource, 2015-02-05
Captain: , United States (3192)

We've used this dock a few times now, always in our tender from the nearby anchorage. Easy walk to Publix and several nice restaurants. We could fit the big boat (52', 6' draft) here quite easily, too, for a provisioning stop. For that reason we always tie our dinghy up on the east (inside) side of the dock leaving the outside for larger vessels.

Large well built floating dock, 2014-03-20
Captain: , Ottawa (1173)

This is a great resource for cruisers needing to reprovision. There is a Publix supermarket only a couple blocks up the street from the dock. There are also other stores as well as restaurants in the area.

Great quick stop!, 2013-12-26
Captain: , Great Falls, VA (1092)

This free dock is a very easy stroll to the grocery store. The 4 hour limit would make it a terrific place to stop and wait for a tide change and get some grocery shopping and lunch done at the same time. Note that the current satalite image on Active Captain does not actually show this dock. You can see the long fishing pier in the satalite image, the floating dock juts off of that (making it paralel to the current and easy docking, I was worried before arriving that it was perpendicular to current until I saw it in person). Room for about four to six 40 foot boats (2 or 3 per side) depending on how tightly everyone ties up. Despite the no wake zone, still plenty of wakes so put out all of your fenders.

Get Groceries Here!, 2013-08-19
Captain: , New York (21)

This is one long floating finger peer. Could handle just about any boat. Publix grocery store is a short walk.

Free Dock for 24 HRS, 2012-10-09

close walk to many stores

Grocery Store - Publix, 2012-07-10
Captain: , Fort Myers Florida (190)

Dingied over from the municipal moorings. One long block walk to big publix grocery store. Floating dock with lots of cleats.
