Reviews for Viking Boat Yard
Not fancy, but over priced, 2017-06-28
Captain: , Annapolis (3379)

Spent one night as a transient in early June they charged $2/foot. Was hardle worth the price. Came back 5 weeks later and when we went into the office they charged us $3/foot. We had arranged for friends to meet us here so we could not leave. This place would be fairly priced at $1/foot. There are no amenities to speak of and it is not close to any shopping. This is in no way a $3/foot marina! They don't seem to have many transient customers. At this price there is no wonder why.

The Most Honest and Fair Business in the Marine Industry, 2016-07-05

This is a wonderful family run business!!
My 2016 season started off rough with an anchor rode thouroghly wrapped around my prop shaft. After being towed by SeaTow (Thank You Walter) to Viking,I had hoped it to be a short haul out to clear my prop shaft. Well some more serious damage was discovered turning it into a full haulout and a week on the hard where I made my own repairs.
Throughout my time there they were helpfull and flexible sympathetic and just simply kind and courteous - not to mention the yard crew very professional. When relaunch day came, again they were so flexible and accomodating. What had started out as a very stressful and frustrating situation, ended up quite pleasant despite my misfortune.
They are the kind of people we need more of in the boating world -
especially in this area!!!
Thank You all at Viking !!!

ok place to go, 2015-10-13
Captain: , Dover (65)

you can tell we are getting close to the City. an old review quoted $1 per foot. we can in at low tide- 5ft of water to the outer docks. arrived after hours and found the restaurant closed ( Monday). walked 2 blocks for ok pizza. was a little shocked to pay $3 per foot when we checked in in the morning. only 1 shower- fortunately in mid October it was not busy

Calm and quiet, 2012-12-29
Captain: , Newport Yacht Club (96)

Stayed there near end of season (Oct.1). Hudson Tavern next door is great home cooking and the owners are always friendly.
The marina is no-frills but its quiet, the people are nice and you can watch the sun set across Haverstraw Bay.

Great Yard, 2012-10-24
Captain: , Islamorada, Florida Keys (319)

This is one of the only DIY yards in the NY area that also allows liveaboards in the yard. Great prices and friendly staff on top of that. They can also order just about any supplies you need, if they don't already have it in stock, and usually have it there by the next day. They don't force you to buy from them, their prices were usually on par with Defender!

Good basic marina., 2012-08-17
Captain: , Powder Springs, GA (214)

Nothing fancy, but honest friendly folks. Wooden docks, decent showers/head, well protected from the river. Didn't try the restaurant next door, but the Paradise Restaurant (3-4 blocks away) was great--the bartender Victor is a panic!

A working boat yard., 2012-06-07
Captain: , Palm Beach, FL (133)

There is nothing fancy about Viking, but you can work on your own boat, and it is very calm inside. The owners are very nice and the resturant is good.

This is one of the few yards that can haul larger boats. They have a 30 ton travel lift and a concrete lot for boat storage. They are also very careful when hauling and do a very good job pressure washing the hull.

Viking Boat Yard, 2009-07-11

Floating docks. Primarily working boat yard, but helpful and friendly.

Big advantage is cost $1/ft/night or $4/ft/week. Free elec.
