Reviews for Victoria Park RV and Marina
Good spot to restock, 2016-08-24
Captain: , Catawba Island Ohio (530)

No help docking which was ok as the place was empty when we arrived around noon. Walmarts, cdn tire, big grocery stores and all the fast food you could ask for. RR museum worth a visit. Coupon in the visitor guide for buy one get one admission free. And don't pass on the opportunity to ride a handcar (the kind you pump yourself) for only 2.25 a piece, might be your last chance.

Marina is 3 star, but town is 4 star, 2016-07-21
Captain: , Rochester, New York (203)

Sept 7, 2015--Fortunately the Canadian Parks folks at the lock let us know where and how to dock at Victoria Park. The town of Smith Falls runs the marina, not CNP. There are no signs about where to dock, and no one comes to help. The bathrooms were clean and the office has info on the town. Someone should encourage the person in the office to help the boaters.
The town has 2 great museums... one related to the canal, and another about trains. Both are excellent, within easy walks and worth visits. There is a large grocery store for restocking. Fort Hemlock was a nice restuarant for snacks, dinner and brews.
May 2016- another nice visit. Staff was friendlier and facilities were fine.

Nice place, 2016-07-04
Captain: , Bedford, NH (625)

June 29, Stayed one night. Lockmaster told us that they no longer recognize our mooring pass at the floating docks, they are owned by Parks Canada but the town runs them. Parks Canada does have space at the wall covered by the pass but no power. We wanted the power so we chose to pay to stay. Just pick a spot and then go register. Used 2 30amp services, 4 available on the pedestal so plenty for all boats. Water hook ups also. No staff to help but other boaters came right over. Hand outs with lots of information were given to us. Staff in office very friendly. Nice little town. Great little German/Hungarian restaurant in town. Park is nice and a great place for the dog to stretch his legs. Facilities were clean. Would stay here again.

Victoria Park - changes, 2015-08-21
Captain: , Britt, Ontario (691)

New this year - there is no longer a discount for having a seasonal lock pass - you will pay $1.50 per foot plus hydro at $5.65.

WALMART NEARBY, 2015-07-13
Captain: , East Falmouth, MA (1533)

Goos shopping. No help at the docks. This is run by the Town and not Parks CA. Current made docking a challenge. Except for the Rideau Canal Museum which was very well done, if you don't need to re provision you can by pass this one.

expensive with price change, 2015-06-20
Captain: , Englewood, FL (905)

With the change in pricing policy it cost us $60 for a 36 ft boat. We expected much less. There's a strong circular current in the turning basin which made docking a challenge. The town has lots of different types of stores so shopping is good, otherwise not much to recommend it. We did enjoy the railway museum.

Great value, 2014-09-12
Captain: , Kingston, ON (230)

At $0.63 per foot (with seasonal lock pass) its tough to beat. Includes water, hydro, washrooms, showers, and wifi (pump-out extra). Other amenities are within easy walking distance. Midway point on the Rideau system between Kingston and Ottawa and probably the best stop to reprovision. Only thing lacking is fuel.

Very nice place to stop, 2013-08-13
Captain: , Venice, Fl. (919)

63 cents a foot plus $5.00 electric includes tax with the seasonal mooring pass. Park has playground area. Easy walk into town. Clean restrooms and showers.

On electricity and great restaurant, 2013-08-13
Captain: , Key Biscayne FL (3048)

Going West/south bound the finger piers on the south side are 50' long and have twin 30a for each slip, except the first one has a single 30a for each. Water at all sites. On the wall east of the fingers are two sites with a single 30a. All powered sites required same payment. There are free, no services sites on opposite side of blue line.

Try the My Place European restaurant on the north side on Main and Market. Great ice cream spot along the way.

First bridge opening westbound is 9:30 NOT 8:45 since the later lock opening hours

Nice protected basin, 2013-08-04
Captain: , Rochester NY (310)

First come, first served for a dock with two 30 amp outlets (240 v) and water. A lot of small restaurants and pubs in town. Very nice grocery store about a half mile away.

Nice location for a stop-over, 2013-08-01
Captain: , Prescott, Ontario (141)

We have stayed at Victoria Park a number of times and have never had any complaints. Staff is very informative and courteous. Grocery store is a bit of a walk but if you can wait they have a free bus that shuttles boaters back and forth. The covered BBQ area, with picnic tables was a nicety when it rains.

Good Marina, 2013-07-24
Captain: , Freeport, ME (608)

There are about a dozen fingers on the RV side, and two on the other side of the basin. No water at the two finger side, but both sides have 30A power. There is also space on the walls for several boats, some spaces with power. The RV side had most of the services you could want. Grocery store and restaurants within a few blocks.

Nice spot, but didn't explore at all, 2013-01-31
Captain: , Gloucester, MA (806)

This was a fine spot, but we didn't explore it much.

great stop great price, 2012-07-06
Captain: , Cape Coral FL (4176)

$.60 ft with the seasonal mooring pass $5 elec. Great stop. Close to stores, bakery, restaurants. Walmart Super store, Canadian Tire and Tim Hortons stores nearby.
No radio at this campground marina. If there is an empty slip you pull in and take it then go register at the main building.

The price is right, 2012-06-22
Captain: , Jacksonville Fl (1520)

Dockage is 1.20 per ft + 5 bucks for elec. The good news is 60 cents a ft with a canal mooring pass + the elec. Great facility, well run, clean, and easy to grocery and downtown.

Great place to stop, 2011-11-30
Captain: , Iroquois, ON (105)

everytime you pass through Smith's Falls. Shuttle service around town (used to be and went to the Hershey Factory outlet but not anymore since they closed it). Downtown is a short walk and the museum is a must see as well. It can get very crowded on weekends and holidays so plan to get there as early as possible.

Victoria Park at Smith Falls Basin, 2011-07-24
Captain: , Patrick AFB Florida (1254)

This is a must stop. Plenty of space on various walls on both sides of the basin, many with hydro (electricity); some spaces without hydro. Part of Parks Canada facilities and with season pass get a reduced rate. Historic museums nearby; good grocery shopping; drug stores; ice cream; hair saloons; restaurants (best pizza at the Steak House) - all within easy walking distance.

Smtihs Falls, 2011-07-13
Captain: , Wilsonville, AL (300)

Great location arrived for Canada Day celebration. Walkable town with stores, shops, grocery stores nearby. There is a grocery store in town that is closer than Walmart and has excellent prices on fruits and vegetables. It currently is undergoing renovations. Staff is helpful and friendly. Only one washer and dryer for whole park.

Great Stop on the Rideau, 2011-06-24
Captain: , Annapolis (208)

Wonderful staff. Close to stores/resturants. Highly recommended

Good provisioning stop, 2010-07-02
Captain: , Memphis TN (977)

Clean, good stop. Reduced rate if you have a Parks Mooring Pass.

Victoria Park, 2009-08-18
Captain: , Austin, Tx (1257)

The campground/marina is a great stop! Smiths Falls is a respectably sized town with grocerystores, rental cars, beer store, LCBO all close by. It has the feel of a family park.

Free (with mooring pass) lockwalls are available up closer to the locks

recommended - we stayed 4 nights
