Reviews for Victoria Harbour - Ship Point Docks

This is one of favorite harbours. The facilities are nice, the staff is exceptional. The location is ideal for an inner city experience surrounded by beauty.

Great location, good facility with a few exceptions, 2013-02-08

It's hard to beat tieing up with Empress Hotel ahead or astern, the Parliament Building to port (or starboard), the causeway vendors and musicians, and the rest of this wonderful, walkable city at your swim step.

The docks are great, power and water easy to access, and trash/recyclable bins are nearby. Showers and restrooms, however, are not - we used the boat exclusively. Wifi is also spotty at best, as they're still under contract to the disappointing BBX/Beacon service. You're better off walking to a nearby Starbucks, or coffee house of your choice.

Entering and exiting the harbour is exciting but fairly straight-forward. Check your guidebook and follow the markers. If you're lucky you'll avoid the whale watching boats which throw disruptive wakes right up to the no wake zone.

The Royal BC Museum is a short walk and a great opportunity. Our favorite place to provision is The Market on Yates, about a 20 minute walk from the marina. Good stuff. The best fish and chips is even closer - Red Fish Blue Fish is just around the corner on Wharf Street. It's worth waiting in line.

This facility is recently upgraded to provide more moorage space for visiting boats. It can handle vessels up to 280 feet. It is a very nice facility that is very well located. The moorage rates have been increased this year, and are now at the upper end of the range. They are found here: http://www.victoriaharbour.org/m_rates.php.
