Vermilion harbor is located approximately 30 miles west of Cleveland Light, 17 miles ESE of Cedar Point, and 20 miles SE of Kellys Island. The entrance to the river is well protected by a breakwall and is safe in all but the roughest of weather. Be careful of shoaling from the east and west river piers towards shore. The Vermilion Yacht Club is located approximately 1/4 mile upriver on the port side. The second lagoon on the left (Ontario Lagoon) is the location of the member docks.

Reviews for Vermilion Yacht Club
This place is great, 2016-07-14
Captain: , Ashland, wi (120)

You won't find a better spot to tie up as a transient. It has the flavor of the yacht club you've always wanted to find. Easy in, easy out. Tall mature shade trees, easy access to whatever you need and staff that make accommodation for you on a personal friendly non obsequious manner.

I was expecting this to be a great place - It IS!, 2016-06-27
Captain: , Cleveland, Ohio (130)

What a wonderful place. Matt, the dockmaster is terrifically helpful. The club is cool and clean with a great view of the boats coming in and out of the Vermilion River. I was unlucky enough to need wifi during my stay. Luckily, the clubhouse wifi is better than my internet at home. Oh, and the docks are nestled in among trees and beautiful homes. We loved it.

Tranquility in the shade, 2015-08-04

Perhaps it helped we stayed on a Monday night - we were the only ones there according to the club manager, Matt. He and another member helped us dock and get settled. It seems they put visitors on the 150ft wall in front of the club and there is ample room to go up river and turn around.

Facilities are very clean and tidy. We had access to their clubhouse kitchen and cooked our dinner there, rather than heat up our galley. With the lawn and the trees and the manicured homes around the club, it was a very tranquil stop for us and would recommend this stop.

Nice place. Keep your drinks on the boat, 2014-08-25

Stayed here and had a great time. The clubhouse is small and quaint. The people friendly. There is a private beach that you can use while staying at the club. ITs a nice walk through a very interesting neighborhood. Very clean very safe.

Great Stop, 2014-07-18
Captain: , Wilmington, De. (152)

Tranquil setting, attentive club manager (he even served a continental breakfast), great place to watch local fishing boats and sailing school pass by. Easy dinghy ride across canal to town -- or an easy 10 minute bike ride. Great place to spend a few days before heading to the Ohio Islands or waiting out weather. One of our favorite stops so far on the Loop

Excellent staff, Nikki and Gary are awesome. Nice facilities, light breakfast on weekends.

Very Nice facility, 2012-08-12
Captain: , Lakeside Yacht Club (250)

Quiet club, no bar or restaurant. If you drink be aware there no alcohol consumption on the property unless you are on your boat. Tarnasient dockks on the wall get some wakes form the early morning fishing boats who don't seem to understand "no wake" Golf carts are available to rent. When approaching the harbor the East entrance seems to be deeper this year. West side was at 3 feet in certain areas.

Nice docks, great facilities, excellent location, 2011-07-05
Captain: , Catawba Island, OH (523)

Stayed here at the end of June 2011 for one night. Docks are very well maintained and the facilities are excellent. Navigation is easy and the depth is over 6 feet. The people at the yacht club were very nice and friendly. Asked us to join a social event they were having for members even though we were transients.

They have 50 amp service, but if you have 30 amp cables they will loan you a converter pigtail.

There is a very nice beach area a block away and it is a 10-20 minute walk to good restaurants and stores. Downtown Vermilion is 20-25 minute walk.

Dockage was $1.80/foot and included power and water.

Quaint and quiet, 2009-05-30
Captain: , Sandusky (93)

Vermilion Yacht Club is a quiet club in a quaint residental neighborhood of Cape Cod style homes. A relaxed atmosphere and shade trees abound. Spectacular view! If you're looking for a wild, loud party atmosphere, this is not the place for you.
