Reviews for Venice Yacht Club
One night stay, 2016-06-06
Captain: , Indian Rocks Beach (296)

The facility seems nice, but we were only there one night as we were traveling south. Unfortunately, the night we were there the restaurant and bar were closed. We were a short walk from the Crow's Nest though so we ate there. Transient slips were along a seawall on a canal withhomes one one side and a fence on the other. It was fine for one night, but not a very attractive spot.

Good FCYC club, 2016-05-23
Captain: , Niceville, Fl (195)

Dock master does everything he can to help you get settled. Docking is limitted so call ahead.

Another Great Overnight Stay, 2015-12-30
Captain: , Sarasota, FL (61)

Overnight stop and it was another great stay. Dockmaster Ted George is attentive and very helpful. The staff at the tiki bar is excellent - Chrissie provided great customer service even though she was working solo. Nice place, great people and good food at the tiki bar. We'll be coming back

Great Stop, 2015-11-08
Captain: , Longboat Key, FL (82)

Excellent stop for lunch for members of the FCYC. Excellent dockmaster, service, food and easy docking, and the two resturants were not crowded. Skip the crowd and difficult docking at the Crow's Nest and relax and enjoy the Venice Yacht Club's excellent food and service.

Great club, 2015-04-09
Captain: , Clearwater, FL (220)

My second visit here. Easy access off the Venice inlet and well protected. Great tiki bar set up, terrific food, and excellent staff. The dockmaster, Ted George, is one of the best and is a superb representative for his club.

nice way station, 2014-05-01
Captain: , St. Petersburg (50)

Dock master very friendly and helpful. try not to dock on D dock on the weekend as hordes of drunk teens use the public boat ramp 100' away. Beach access is a short walk to the left and beach was clean and uncrowded.

A Gem in Venice, 2014-03-12
Captain: , Punta Gorda. FL (360)

Still a fine FCYC stop for those with reciprocity. Dock staff are first class. The club dock has easy transient spaces alongside the end of the 'T' if no slips are available. Try to get on the north end of the'T': the south end exposes your boat to close passes and some waking from small boats coming from the public launch next door. Also you may need to fend off errant youth Opti sailors coming back into the yacht club. There is easy access to the fuel dock and pump out is now available at each slip. Excellent bar, dining, pool. The showers are getting a bit grungy and could use some grout mold remediation. A little over a mile walk cute downtown Venice Avenue with shops and good dining.

Pleasant people, 2013-11-18
Captain: , Bozeman Mt. (300)

Mistakenly docking was well taken and pleasantly corrected.

FCYC is usual a safe bet, 2013-10-13
Captain: , Riviera Dunes, FL (80)

VYC has a great tiki bar pool side. We docked in a slip and both nights were calm, no heavy wakes. Club bath room clean. Pump out at most slips. Dock master was great.

Another Great FCYC Facility, 2013-08-31
Captain: , Abilene, TX (210)

requires belonging to a FCYC club but Venice is a favorite stop, great dock assistance, good docks, reasonably protected, great club facilities including nice pool, great food in club, also, Crows Nest restuarant is within walking distance

Excellent marina, 2013-04-03
Captain: , Anna Maria, FL (165)

Club is closed on Monday but dock master was there until 4 pm and stayed late to get us settled after arriving 5 minutes to 4. He even called on our mobile to check on ETA and offered to stay until we arrived. Usual guest docking is at T dock. We were on the wall north of the club and were able to turn around (36') but next time I will turn around east of fuel area and back in. Club was closed but Crow's Nest restaurant just a short walk. Definitely will go back.

Excellent marina, 2012-10-08
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1896)

Easy in & out from Gulf. Well marked approach. Water 10' all the way in and at dock at low tide. Docks all new and power pedastals new. Club closed on Monday so did not experiance. Diesel 3.87 plus 7% tax.

Venice Yacht Club, 2012-01-19
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (334)

My Uncle lives up here and is a member. We get guest slip rates. The restaurant is absolutely awesome (bill goes on his account!). It is easy in and out, and the marina has recently been renovated and can now fit yachts up to 60 feet and 16 foot beam. Jim the Dock Manager is very helpful.

Good Offshore Inlet Nearby, 2009-10-30
Captain: , Ft. Myers (376)

Venice Inlet is of the best in West Florida. Only a short distance inside is the Crow's Nest Marina and Restaurant (great food) and the Venice Yacht Club. Past the club is the city free dock. VYC has a pool tiki bar, fuel and a long wall dock for transients. Food and service are outstanding. The building is showing wear in a few places. Two old loaner bicycles are available but would win the prize for the worst in any FCYC club.
