Reviews for Port Henry Marina
Belle endroit, 2016-09-05
Captain: , Longueuil (10)

Sommes arrêtés ici suite aux commentaires que nous avions lus sur le site. Belle petite marina, les quais sont neuf ainsi que les installations. le propriétaire est très aimable et dévoué

My kind of marina, 2016-07-25
Captain: , Lacolle, QC (263)

This is a great marina, very clean, the washrooms are spotless and Dave is very helpful. We were offered a ride to the grocery store which is just up the hill (about 15 minutes walk) there are also some restaurants, pharmacy, liquor store. Also at proximity of a clean beach. Looking forward to go back.

The New in 2015 Port Henry Replaces Velez, 2016-07-22
Captain: , Warwick, RI (88)

Highly prof. and most friendly Mgr. David. Good instructions and help with dockage. All inclusive in $2.00/ft daily. Dollar General half up the long hill to town is closed due to fire. Good market in town all the up. Klaus

An Outstanding Stop, 2016-06-28
Captain: , Lexington, Kentucky (160)

The reviews that are older than 2015 describe the old marina. This marina has now been totally rebuilt and reconfigured. It has a new breakfront around it that protects the basin from North winds. The docks are new as are the showers, heads and laundry. Dave, the manager, is incredible. He knows the history of the area and is willing to drive you "up the hill" to town to eat. A very good stopped. The dockage fee includes the electric.

A Real Gem, 2016-06-14
Captain: , York, ME (1880)

We originally planned to push further up the lake, but were scared off by CG lake wind warnings. Not sure if the full force they predicted ever materialized, but we were glad we found Port Henry Marina.

Can't add much to the other reviews. Dave was great. The facility is clean and like new. The protection inside the breakwater is fantastic. Electric and pump-out is included in the price. Laundry and ice (block and cube) on site. Great views of the Lake Champlain Bridge and the mountains across the lake.

Dave told us that the arch for the bridge was built here. As part of the rental arrangement, the owner of the land had the construction company build the breakwaters for the marina when finished with the site.

The Dollar General nearby is now boarded up, so it's a 3/4 mile hike up hill to Mac's grocery, a smallish and somewhat overpriced market. There's a take-out restaurant with ice cream just outside the front entrance that's open on weekends.

Mid-week, this is a one-man operation. Don't be surprised if you don't get an answer to your hail or call. Just come on in, there's an L-shaped face dock with the pumpout on the corner; that's where they put transients if possible.

Even better..., 2015-09-16
Captain: , Norwalk, CT (82)

... than the reviews. We came in late, warmly welcomed by Charlie as Dave was out. Due to the heat, Charlie lent us the office fan for the night. Brand new facilty, clean restrooms and showers. Yes, the walk up the hill is a good one, but all the stores are right there. We have decided to spend another night here. It is that good!

Great Champlain Marina, 2015-07-31
Captain: , Seneca Lake NY (313)

All the revuews are dead on! This place is new, clean, boater friendly, and all at a reasonable price.
Dave will make sure you feel at home and is willing to assist in any way possible.
Thanks to other positive reviews we gave this a try and stayed 2 nights.

Nice marina!, 2015-07-17
Captain: , Hallowell, Maine (240)

Really enjoyed our stay here. Docks bathrooms ,showers and laundry are brand new and shiny. The manager, Dave, is a great guy who was helpful and friendly as could be. He offered to drive us up the hill for groceries but we walked. Not far, but definately up. We stayed 3 nights. Would stay here again.

Clean, new, marina., 2015-06-18
Captain: , Jacksonville Fl (10)

Manager Dave will do whatever it takes to assure your satisfaction. Port Henry is an interesting town. It is about a half mile ( mostly uphill ) walk from the marina. Dave offered to drive us but we enjoyed the walk. There is a post office, grocery store, dollar general, and liquor store. We walked back to town for breakfast at the diner. For trailer boaters they have a good ramp and grassy area to store your truck and trailer.

Best hidden gem on Champlain, 2014-08-21
Captain: , Coxsackie (30)

We were told of this marina on our way up and wound up staying there on way back as well
Dave( manager) went out of his way to make us feel at home. Bathrooms , Laundry, docks are brand new.
Great place, good people highly recommend

By far the best, 2014-08-19
Captain: , worton Creek (100)

we stopped here in a 44' trawler going to Canada. Dave was the best customer service rep I ever dealt with. His laundry was not completed yet so he drocve us to town to a laundromat. Our dinghy had water in the gas so he spent two hours, at no charge, fixing it for us. When we left to go north for a few days he gave us his cell and told us to call if we needed anything up there. We stopped again on the way back and will stop any time we are in the area - you just don't find service like this anymore!

Great new marina, 2014-08-19
Captain: , Rexford (10)

After troubles with my gas guage I found myself out of fuel just above this marina. Although 3:30 PM on a sunday I was able to get through to them on the phone. They came out & brought me to the dock. When I tried to pay them they refused. They arranged for me too get fuel & I stayed at the dock over night. Every thing herfe is new & in great shape. They have a very sophisticated electrical leakage system on their dock power & a good breakwater. The price was very reasonable. I would definately recommend making use of this marina.

Brand new marina, 2014-07-27
Captain: , Rochester NY (310)

We stopped here in anticipation of some bad weather coming and we were met at the dock by Dave, the marina manager. The facilities are all brand new. Dave told us the docks were just installed a few weeks ago and they are excellent. Power, water and a free pump out is included. The town is up the hill and Dave offered a ride if we needed anything. We plan on stopping here again when we head south in a few weeks.

New Marina with New Management, 2014-07-15
Captain: , LCYC Lake Champlain (39)

Spent the night and then moved my boat here for storage! Prices are great. NEW: Showers, Laundry (just installing 7/8/14), Free Wifi, 25 Ton Lift, helpful staff, only place on lake with Grocery near by, Ice Cream stand near, free pumpout! New stone breakwater offers great protection. Brand new docks. Only negative: Train tracks run behind marina. We saw 4 trains in a day.

Nice Marina, 2014-06-21
Captain: , Plattsburgh, NY (40)

Looking around at other marinas and heard this marina was being rebuilt, what an understatement!! All new docks, we visited by car on a strong north wind, noticed harbors were very well protected with new breakwalls. It seems the owners have put a serious investment into making this an upscale marina. Manager greeted us and was very pleasant, giving us a full tour of the new facilities. Restrooms with showers are first class. Still some construction going on, however boats are on their docks.

Minimum Services for 2.5 stars, 2014-06-19
Captain: , Coles Point, VA (778)

Mostly long-time seasonal residents occupy the marina. There is no fuel, or pump-outs, store or food, but food and stores are close by in Port Henry. New docks in use in 2010.

UPDATE: My earlier review was completed before the marina underwent a name change and refurbishment. Based on my experience at the time with the new owner, I am hopeful that it will be a good experience with the new gear in place. When I stayed at the old marina the new owner could not have been more accomodating at that time.
