Reviews for Valleyfield Marina
Valleyfield Marina, 2016-08-21
Captain: , Trois-Rivieres (69)

Nice staff and marina. Phoned ahead to make reservations. Best to show up at gas dock to get slip assignment and arrange for docking assistance. Nice town along canal with good restaurants and grocery store in walking distance.

Medicore at best, 2016-08-08
Captain: , Charleston, SC (210)

nice young staff. unfortunately, on 208 volts for 50amp service so many compressors will not work. fail to answer phones or emails for registration.

Nice Marina and fun town, 2016-07-21
Captain: , Rochester, New York (213)

June 2016- the marina stff was friendly and helped us into the dock. We decided to extend an extra day and had to move docks and again they offered to help. It was very busy at the gas dock due to Quebec holiday but they took care of everyone. The town was very nice and had a fantastic fireworks display for the holiday. Nice restuarant and pub within easy walk, also grocery store.

Nice place, 2016-07-04
Captain: , Bedford, NH (775)

We stayed one night, June 24th5. Fuel dock very busy so no answer on radio or phone. While waiting for fuel dock, shallow alarm kept going off. Set to go off when there is 5 feet of water. I need 3 1/2. Lots of growth in water but we found that in most places along the Ottawa River and Rideau Canal. Staff very friendly. We met friends so we had a car to provision but it was a holiday and all the grocery stores were closed. Nice town. Didn't get much info from the staff as to facilities on site. Helps if you speak French but not mandatory.

A very nice, clean & protected marina, 2015-08-06
Captain: , Vaudreuil-sur-le-lac (145)

Since the minute we stop, we were welcome. The staff is present, polite and helpfull. Dock are in very good conditions with all the services and commodities. Toilets and showers are fully fonstionnal and very clean. Very secure marina. They give you an information package with a map of the marina and the city. Grocery & liquor stores are in a walking distance.

An Ok stiop, 2014-08-16
Captain: , Wicomico Church (610)

The big advantage here for a trawler is the distance to the locks heading towards Montreal. The Marina had the essentials including fuel and pump out..but the town was a bit disappointing.

Nice place to stop after the locks & bridges, 2014-07-19
Captain: , Montreal (329)

Comming upstream from Montreal in the commercial locks. Locks are 30$ each unless you pay in advance on their site which will be 25$ (2014). after the Beauharnois Dam you have two bridges #9, #10 they are on vhf 68, they will open the bridges but if a ship is comming they are priority. they finally you are in valleyfeild follow your boey's to Bay St-Francois the the valleyfeild marina (4515.389'N - 07408.560'W).
very nice place to stay, people are friendly, very good service, even a small package of information for local stores, restaurants, even repair shop's.
gates around the dock, everything is security controlled for your peace of mind.

A nice surprise on the St. Lawrence, 2012-08-05
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (1521)

Valleyfield was a recommendation from someone we met while staying at Crysler Park Marina downriver - and they were right on. Huge marina with lots of transient space. They had our reservation and we were directed right to our dock. Had a bit of a problem getting the wifi working (my issue, not their's) once hooked up it was nice fast wifi right at the boat. Friendly staff. Just a few blocks to a grocery store (we biked). Walked over to the light/laser show that plays every night in the summer just down the old canal park in town. Very nice town, nice park. All in all a very nice stop - quite a gem.

High traffic marina, nice place to walk, 2012-07-19
Captain: , Lake Champlain, VT (271)

Beautiful setting. Good docks. Pool. Not so convenient bathroom. Modest walk to shopping and park on old canal.

The boat traffic here on a Saturday is terrific. Fairly narrow buoyed approach with lots of wakes.

Friendly helpful staff.

Captain: , Oriental, NC (1148)

Valleyfield Marina is a full service marina with gas, diesel, charts and quite a few micellaneous supplies. It is well protected and has water depths to 9-10'. The town is nearby and has all the facilities needed for the cruiser. There is a lazer light show in town everynight at 2130 hrs dedicated to the building of the first Beauharnois Canal to bypass the swiftly flowing Lachine Rapids. The WiFi signal is adequate but connects and disconnects at times.

WiFi Stop for Work, 2011-07-06
Captain: , Sodus Point, NY (718)

We stopped here for three nights so we could work from the boat. Everyone here was very friendly. The facilities were clean and the marina has excellent protection. My wife enjoyed an afternoon by the impeccably maintained pool. One thing to keep in mind is that the facilities are all the way to one end of the marina. They are near pier 1 which is the opposite end as the gas dock.

An amazing stopover, 2011-01-07
