Reviews for Valentines Resort and Marina
Valentine's is the best in Harbour Island, 2016-04-30
Captain: , Miami, Florida (10)

Full service marina (for the out islands). Marcus and Peter are the friendliest dockmasters in the Bahamas. Best part of Valentine's......the location. It is the only marina that is within easy distance of all the great restaurants on the island.

Rendezvous Review, 2015-05-15
Captain: , Sunset Harbour, Miami Beach,FL (83)

First class all the way. We were there for a yacht mfg rendezvous with 10 other m/y. Dock hands waiting to recieve lines and return upon leaving. All staff high quality, restaurants on sight had both great service and food.

Super Pet Friendly!, 2015-04-21
Captain: , Slidell, La. (1055)

The Marina staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The Marina is centrally located to town with just a short walk with lots of cute stores to browse through. The restaurant has excellent food and drinks (service might be a little slow, but worth the's the Bahamas). Everywhere we went accepted our small dog without hesitation and were super pet friendly which was nice because a few of the places in the Northern Bahamas seem to not be as pet friendly as the Southern Bahamas (Exumas...). The power situation at the Marina was our only complaint as they lost power frequently and for long periods of time. We had to run the generator at the dock overnight and many others who had been there for awhile said it has been an ongoing problem with the power company on the island. As we walked through the island we did notice that several residents/businesses were running their generators as well. Overall worth the trip and will return. We used the pilot Bandit from Spanish Wells for the trip over and back and he was punctual and brought baked goodies as a special treat! The pricing has increased since the guidebooks publishcation, so check rates if this is a concern.

very nice... first trip to Eleuthera, 2014-11-09

Stayed here for about 10 days in late July. Marina is excellent. Marcus the dock master was super friendly and helpful. Food is excellent. we didn't stay on the boat - stayed in one of their units overlooking the marina - perfect - clean and updated...

Don't miss the pink sand beach and the restaurant at Pink Sands!!

Brought a boat from this marina after a tragic accident..., 2014-09-02
Captain: , Miami (293)

The owner of the boat, a young man, tragically drowned in a snorkeling accident. The staff here helped in the body recovery, secured the boat alongside and left the boat in a slip, at no charge, for several weeks. When I arrived to move the boat they could not have been more accommodating. Behavior like this, in the best interest of seafaring tradition, needs to be recognized. Well done all concerned.

Mixed Feelings, 2014-01-04
Captain: , Norwalk (273)

We have stayed at the marina for 7 days, over New Year. The marina is well maintained and very active. The slips are great and the staff friendly. The advertised pump out facilities did not materialize and service in general has been super super slow. Over New Year, it took the marina restaurant two hours to serve the order, and when asked to provide the desert menu, we were told that the Kitchen was closing! Getting drinks usually takes 30minutes, so ordering doubles is the only way to alleviate that situation. The beaches are fabulous!

Rock and Roll, 2013-07-24
Captain: , Marco Island, FL (140)

Visited for an intended 7 day visit In April of 2012 because we love Harbour Island. After 4 days we decided to leave early because the wind, coming from the wrong direction, picked up and we rocked and rolled for a day and night. Unfortunately we could not even walk around our 60 foot power vessel without holding on for fear of falling or hitting something. We were on the most northerly dock, exposed to a fetch from the North and Northwest. The vessels on the more southerly docks didn't seem to move anywhere near as much. (A caution to the wise). We will definitly be back again though. Hopefully with benign wind conditions similar to conditions we have experienced in previous visits. Valentines usually rates a 5, but not this time although they do not control the wind.

Had a great time!, 2012-07-25
Captain: , Sarasota, FL (121)

Stayed for three days over the 4th. Gave all a break and left the boat in the marina and took rooms at the resort. Marina service and the staff asscoaited with the rooms (front desk, housekeeping, etc.) were all great. Only shortcoming was service in the dockside bar/restaurant (lunch and then again for late drinks). Only place during all of the vacation where we found poor/inattentive service. Found several other places on the island where we were happy to give our drinking/eating business and avoided this place for the rest of the stay.

Best Option, 2012-02-12
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (404)

This is really the only good choice for a visit to Harbor Island. The location is perfect, facilities very good, and the staff generally very helpful. It is not cheap, but then again what is on Harbor Island. This place deserves its reputation for the best food and beaches in the Bahamas.

Very nice in all aspects...People, prices and service!

The glitzy one., 2011-03-11
Captain: , MONARCH. COLORADO (1156)

This marina is the home of the large yachts and fishing wagons. You can tell by the tenants that this is the pricier of the three offerring the more upscale ammenities. Fishing is king here. Docks are fixed wooden with pylons in good shape. They have there own branding on everything in the gift shop. That should tell you all you need to know. Restaurant is rated excellant.

Vals, 2009-11-10

The marina downtown. Used to be a funkier place. A tad to "Americanized" for my taste now. But a nice facility none the less.
Great dock master.
