Notes

The VFW post that was at this location has moved and the building is vacant. The Boathouse Restaurant next door has leased the parking lot, but it would appear not the building or the dock. They disclaim any responsibility for the dock, and if asked they will say they don't have one. That said, unofficially this dock is used by boaters eating at The Boathouse.

Reviews for Former VFW Post 4848
Dinghy dock for access to The Boathouse restaurant, 2016-10-16
Captain: , United States (2526)

The business at this location (formerly a VFW post) is closed and the parking lot is being leased by the Boathouse restaurant next door. The dock is not part of that lease and is not being maintained; The Boathouse disclaims any responsibility for it. That said, it is unofficially the place to tie up to eat at the Boathouse, and you'll find boats here almost every Friday and Saturday evening. Fixed dock with deep water, but not beefy enough for cruising boats, and no one is keeping it clear of underwater debris. I rcommend it as a dinghy dock only; plenty of good anchoring just upriver on the LDB.

Restaurant and bar are quite good and I recommend it as a stop, but bear in mind, with no one responsible, the dock may not be here in the long run.

Just up river from the Chattanooga City dock. Planed on staying there for the night as I'm a VFW member. However the dock was wraped in yellow tape.(2011) Not sure if the dock has been repaired. It is small with no facilities. Puts you in walking distance (one block) of a resturant. Probably best to anchor an large boat and diggy to the dock. The up side is it would be a cheap ovenight stop. And it puts you close to Chattanooga sites.
