Reviews for Union Steamship Co. Marina
Probably the best in BC, 2016-08-06
Captain: , Charlestown (946)

Great spot and wonderful facilities. Very accomodating staff. Local village has restaurants, bakery, small grocery, mail box etc. Plenty of hikink trails around the lake as well. We came for one night and stayed 2 and if in the area will come back again.

Very pretty place!, 2015-06-22
Captain: , Pender Harbour, BC (351)

Great facilities, extremely nice people, and restaurants, shops and pubs within walking distance!
This is a fair sized permanent moorage marina with guest spots, and is busy with the arrival and departure of the car ferry connecting to Horeshoe Bay, plus the local boats.
We will come back again

No Steamships - but a great marina, 2015-04-17

A marina stop with true character that offers the boater most everything you might want. Very helpful staff and warm and friendly people all around. Great hiking trails.

This is an excellent get away in the winter. It is a 2 to 3 hours sail from Vancouver. The facilities are excellent the people are nice. winter rates are a bargain.

Union steamship has great facilities, interesting restored buildings and access to great restaurants, coffee shops and trails. We were here for 3 nights waiting out a storm. Winds did eventually get in and the docks were rocking, but the wind was blowing 70 kts in the gulf, so Snug Cove did ok. Deep bay around the corner was filled with whitecaps, so it seems that in a se storm, Snug is a definitely a better pick.

We get to his marina at least once/year for several nights. Reservations are a must. Fantastic peple, fantastic place and they work hard for you.

But trying to stop for a lunch stop can be a different stoty -= they do not take reservations, tell you there's room and when you get there - nope, sorry. There's room for improvment with this aspect of the business.

Excellent marina experience, 2013-07-18

What a nice quick getaway from Vancouver. Tie up at the marina and enjoy excellent pub dinner, or walk into Bowen Isalnd for other restaurant choices or island hiking. Watch for ferry when exiting or entering -- if you hug the south side of the bay (deep water) you'll be fine.

Nice stop over place, 2012-07-02
Captain: , Portland, OR (80)

Great friendly marina. Very good BBX coverage. Restrooms were new and very clean as well as the showers. Marina office also had a little of all the boating and fishing essentials. Location was convenient to stores, liquor store, ATM, Post, trails, parks and restaurants. Docks had good water, power and were clean.

Union Steamship Company Marina, 2011-09-14
Captain: , Seattle, WA (81)

Marina has a great new floating office/lounge/shop. Washers and Dryers are clean and work perfectly. Could get great internet speed at the end of the dock.

Great overall place to stop in..., 2011-08-17
Captain: , Vancouver (22)

Ended up here when heavy weather would not allow further passage up the coast. They fit us in on short notice on a weekend in Aug without too much fuss.

Facilties are all that is needed. Didn't use the shower but heard it was okay. A few stores, some great restraunants and was made to feel like one of the locals at the pub. What more can you ask - well I guess better weather, but with that we wouldn't have found this gem.

Provincial Dock, 2009-03-23
Captain: , Mercer Island, WA (120)

I waited out some nasty weather on the public dock that is between the Union Steamship Marina and the ferry terminal. If you are on this dock be prepared for nasty ferry wakes all day. Also don't expect to use the shower facilities at the Union Steamship marina.

Great Daysail location, 2007-02-22
Captain: , Huntington, NY (2310)

I enjoyed sailing here from Centre Island, Vancouver. Some of my guests only came this far, to take a ferry back, as my brother and I continued to Howe Sound.

The marina provided everything we need, and a short walk away was a very good Seafood restauraunt

Highly recommend for Daysail's out of Vancouver
