Reviews for US Marine Corps Base Quantico Marina, MWR
Limited Space, watch the price and 96 hr rule, 2016-08-07
Captain: , Beverly, MA (1140)

Nice Marina, the town is litterally outside the marina gate. Not much there lots of barber shops a few resturants. Marine Museum is about a $8 Uber ride one way but worth it, will take most of the day to see all the exhibits (cafe on premises). The marina charges LOA X $1.50. They have a weekly rate which is much cheaper, BUT, there is a 96 hour live aboard rule that limits transits from taking advantage. No WiFi. Staff are friendly and helpful.

What a great Museum!!!! Just off the base, free parking, free museum, great food and wonderful exhibits!!!! Can't wait to go back!

Great Marina, 2014-07-25
Captain: , King George (13)

This is a great place to stop for gas if your headed north to DC or south from DC. If you need gas stop. There are places to eat in town. The food is not bad as said above. They are not fancy and also small, but do serve good food. They folks at this marina are there to help and want to expand services, but you know how that works. If you dont use it, it cant grow. So stop in and fill up, go eat or go see the town of quantico. Its a very small quaint town. They also have a summer concert series at the Qtown dock. Fireworks sometimes. http://www.townofquantico.org/
The town dock is shallow two feet at the most. We can pull our 21 foot cuddy up to it, but you have to be careful. I wish they would dredge around the dock and dredge a path to it. There could be a lot of good to come if they would. Would be nice to have a bus go from the qtown dock and quantico military doc to the Marine Corps Museum. Lots of history on this base. The Marine Corps and the town of Quantico could really help thier image if they would expand the water front down there.

Military Marina, 2013-10-09
Captain: , Quantico, VA (261)

The marina has only 30A power outlets. There is a pump out and gas only available at the fuel dock. All slips are on floating docks and the number of transient slips is very limited. At low tide, look for a bump just after the marina entrance and be wary of the current from the potomac river on your approach. The staff are very helpful and there are a few eateries within walking distance of the marina in the town of Quantico. There is also a train station in the town which provides access to the Washington, DC metro. The can be reached at 703-784-2359 or hail them on channel 16.

One caution during Spring visits. Spring rains cause many debris fields to form from trees, limbs, and trash collecting in tributaries during the Winter. The marina has a tendency to collect these and become cluttered until the marina staff can clean them out.

Great Location, 2013-09-18
Captain: , Perry, Kansas (317)

If you are elgible, i.e. military, DoD, it is a great reasonable place to stop goint to or from Wachington D.C. Marina personnel are friendly as are the dock inhabitants.

Great stop for retired Military, 2013-09-16
Captain: , Portsmouth, VA (430)

Our 42' fit nicely in a slip near the parking lot. All servies required available on the dock, power/water. Gate passes provided, visited with friends, nice stay. Our second visit, good stop to and from the Washington Area.

Overnight Stay, 2013-09-06
Captain: , Fairfax, VA (80)

Took our 22 foot sailboat here in 2012 and again on 8/31/2013. Great marina and staff (Dean). You do need to be military/retired military to stay. The town lacks good places for meals. The Marine Base pool is great but need taxi to get to it.

Marina updated , 2008-04-04
Captain: , Quantico VA (83)

C shaped building has been removed and is now a parking lot. No ramp on site. Marine plant life fairly extensive summer '07 can foul props/rudders.

Gas Available for Civilians Too!, 2007-09-23
Captain: , Occoquan, Virginia (68)

This is a good place to get gas (no Diesel available) if you find yourself running low. Their prices generally run 15 to 20 % higher than surrounding marinas, but in a pinch, who cares? Call the marina ahead of time to make sure they're open. (703-784-2359)

Primarily for active and retired military and civil servants, 2007-08-09
Captain: , Quantico (59)

This is a very small and crowded marina located a mile or so West of Green-43 buoy in the Potomac River. There is only one dock with transient space. The Marina is located on the Marine Base in Quantico, Virginia and right next to the Marina is the small town of Quantico with small stores, bars and restaurants within convenient walking distance.
