Reviews for Ty's Sunset Bar and Grill
Great place to stop to experience the real bahamas, 2016-04-05
Captain: , Miami, fl (3544)

March 2016: new dock is built although not open yet as they are finishing the on shore work. Currently 5' MLW only on the T head but it is supposed to get dredged

December 2015 closed for renovation, were supposed to re open first week of jan

July 2015 update: construction has just begun on a dock at the end of beach. In just a few days the barge had already driven a number of piling for what will be fairly large T head in deep enough water to accommodate 6' drafts. There will be water and power too.

-----

Great food, friendly folks, beautiful beach, and reasonable prices. What more would you want?

It has become our new must stop on the way south of staniel...

Obviously as food is prepared on demand, don't expect it to be served quickly but with cold beer, great run punch and a beautiful beach... who cares.

There is plane wreck in 4' of water about 200' off teh beach. Not much left besides the center section, upside down but still has landing gear...

Ty's is right off the airport runway. Walk out the back door to the little beach, complete with volley ball net, lounge chairs and outdoor shower. Shelly is the owner (?) and is so very sweet and kind. Very reasonable prices (for the Bahamas)! Juice, beer and lunch and dinner, the building is charming and so nice and clean. Go, you will not be disappointed.

Great food but a little shallow, 2016-03-11
Captain: , Lewes, DE (424)

Came in here to do a reprise of last year. Found the waters a bt shallower. At low low tide only had about 3" under a 5' keel where we anchored. Had dinneraat Ty's. Great Lobster dnnner. Too much had to bring some home. Great rum punch, great sunset, great food, great folks. Too bad notmc more water. Great holding.

Just fantastic, 2015-06-11

On May 27th. we took our dinghy to the town dock to do some walking around. We mentioned to some locals that we planned to walk to Ty's Sunset Bar

Captain: , San Marcos, TX (865)

Spent this afternoon watching the World Cup finals at Ty's. Cooooold beer, excellent rum punch, relaxing open air facility on a georgeous beach. Beach chairs, outdoor shower, volleyball, clean restrooms, free wifi and a friendly and gracious host ("Coach"). Easy dinghy access from the channel. Hope to return soon.

Fantastic Relaxing Afternoon, 2014-06-07
Captain: , Slidell, La. (1055)

Easy walk from Farmers Cay Yacht Club to a fantastic private beach with ICE cold beer and extremely friendly people. My husband claims they have the COLDEST beer in the Bahamas! Reservations required for dinnner along with advance menu ordering, but nice selection and wonderful food. Some snorkeling around beach for a few fish and sand dollars. Enough to keep two 19 years occupied for the afternoon.

Good food, good drinks, great view!, 2014-03-27
Captain: , Sneads Ferry, NC (351)

We had ribs and grouper fingers with corn, rice, and plantains - delicious! Ask Coach to make you a rum punch - you can smell the rum when he brings them! Plus, he changes the music to fit the moment. Very nice place, good bartender, and a wonderful experience.

Fabulous beach bar!, 2014-03-07
Captain: , Fulton, MO (66)

This is a great place on the beach with reasonable beer & rum punch prices and free wifi. Plus they have free conch fritters for happy hour! Great beach & atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Ate here twice. Very friendly staff. Good food - Conch fritters are great. Beer $4, rum and cokes $6. Venue is pleasant, cheerful and right on the beach by the airport on W side of island. Free WiFi and also a free beach shower.

Excellent Sunsets, 2014-02-07
Captain: , Hampton, VA (261)

We are anchor right off the black in about 6.5 feet of water. Excellent holding but gets bumpy when tides switch with currents. Beautiful sunsets and this bar is one of the best in the area and awesome hamburger.

BEAUTIFUL BAR AN RESTUARANT, 2012-03-09
Captain: , STUART FL (171)

This new bar and resturant has the best prices in the Bahamas, food is good and the beer is ice cold. Beautiful beach and nice outdoor deck to watch the sunsets. You can anchor by the airport and right out front of the restaurant with good holding and good protection from the E and NE. ENJOY, we had a great time, and Junior will give you the best service in all the Bahamas and Boy the chef will cook you what every your heat desires.

New Place at Little Farmers Cay, 2012-02-11
Captain: , Washington, DC (840)

Currently this new (opened 2/5/2012) bar & grill is open for lunch and dinner, but they are exploring serving breakfast. Their menu is limited, but we found their chicken dinner to be quite tasty. At $3 per bottle, this has to be the best priced Kalik in the Bahamas. Very pleasant beach bar & grill with a great view of the west for sundowner services.
