Reviews for Turtle Cove Marina
Great diesel prices, 2016-08-03
Captain: , High Springs, FL (686)

Stayed overnight at a different marina but repositioned here to get diesel fuel the next morning. Great looking marina and very helpful dock

UPDATE - 9/6/15:
We stayed one night over Labor Day and the visit was great. Less than 1/4 mile from the Sponge Docks.

We arrived late in the day after closing and two of the marina staff happened to see my pulling in and came over to assist. The floating docks are nice and the grounds are clean.

I wish Ed would take over my home marina!

UPDATE- 8/3/2016
We stayed here again and got to enjoy the pool on this trip. STill a great marina!

Good secure location, 2016-07-04
Captain: , Fort Myers, FL (60)

Rode out Colen (summer of 2016) with no problem, floating docks, with good protection from all prevailing winds. Pool, showers are clean, albeit a little walk from the boat. Easy walk to downtown where there are ample choices for dining/shopping. Some favorites Rusty Billies Waterfront Grill and Hellas. It is a busy dry storage facility, but it does not distract from location and friendly staff.

Good Marina, 2016-05-25
Captain: , Saint James City,FL (52)

This marina is primarily a small boat high n' dry. The wet slips are nice with floating docks. I found 6 feet of water going in on a medium tide. Once there you are within walking distance to Tarpon Springs center with all the great restaurants.

Easy walk to spong dock attraxtions, 2016-03-18
Captain: , Englewood, FL - Winter, Cape May, NJ -Summer (931)

Nice new facility close to sponge docks abput 3 blocks away.. Friendly and helpful staff. We were docked on the island section. You have to leave the property and walk out the marina gate, down the street 1 block to use the bathrooms, showers, laundry, pool located in the clubhouse. They need to have the B/S/L more centrally located or at least accessible from inside the property gates. Closest groceries are 1.5 miles.
A simple site map and office/ships store sign would be nice.

Very Nice Facility, 2016-03-11
Captain: , Biloxi MS (100)

We stayed 2/27 & 2/28. Met at the dock by 2 friendly staff members, though neither of them knew a cleat knot. A clean, modern, well equipped marina in the very heart of the Tarpon Springs sponge dock area. Just a block or two and you've got great restaurants & shopping. Easy in and out, but if you draw more than 4 1/2 feet, pay attention to the tides coming and going

Great location, people, and food, 2015-12-14
Captain: , Grand Rivers, Ky (1522)

We stayed here three days after making the Gulf crossing from Carrabelle.. Very friendly staff. A short walk to town to learn the history of the Sponge capitol of the world. Great restaurants serving fresh seafood and Greek cuisine. This will definitely be a stop for us the next time we are in the area.

Awesome Facility, 2015-12-12
Captain: , Ocala FL (351)

Floating docks, met by two dockhands to assist, excellent instructions on how to find the marina, dockside pumpout, modern facilities with awesome clubhouse, pool, hot tub and they actively support the USCG Auxiliary!

Turtle Cove, 2015-08-15
Captain: , Marathon, FL (1150)

Tarpon Springs has been on my bucket list for a while, and I'm very glad we made the effort to cruise up there. The marina is very nice, With friendly, helpful dockhands and staff. Docks are floating. We tied up next to the Tiki Bar, no problem with noise. Did not find the activity at the dry stacks to be bothersome. The town is fun. Lots of great Greek food, some touristy stuff, but still an active fishing/sponging port. Well worth the trip, and we will be back! Are you a turtle?

great marina, 2015-05-03
Captain: , Paris Landing TN (636)

easy slip to get in to. nice facilities, tiki bar, pool, jaccuzi, nice showers, and ships store. only downfall is the 1/2 mile hike to everything and our transient slip was right next to the dock where they loaded and unloaded boats in the water. constant noise and people wandering around. quiet after sundown when everyone goes home. easy walk to the sponge docks and good food.

Top Notch Marina -- Friendly and Helpful, 2015-04-16
Captain: , Prattville, AL (280)

We stayed at Turtle Cove for a few nights and it was a wonderful experience.

The staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we first contacted them. They were mindful of our relatively deep draft and ensured we knew the best time to arrive and depart to avoid going aground.

We were greeted at our assigned slip by three dock hands who helped us land, tie up, and plug into the 50-amp electrical service. Then, as soon as we tied up, we were treated to a golf-cart tour of the facilities and nearby sponge docks section of the city! It was nice to know our way around before we even took a step on our own.

Be on your toes when you step onto the finger docks, as some are very rocky -- like riding a stand-up paddle board -- and you might get tossed off.

This is a great marina with wonderful amenities, and we wish them the very best of success.

We'll be back!

All I can say is Wow, 2015-03-11
Captain: , Port Charlotte, FL (533)

Kim took our reservation by phone and asked all the right questions so we were all set when we arrived. When we checked in, they had our packet ready to go and explained all the dtails. Incredibly friendly crew on the docks, they were busy clearing a space for us when we rounded the corner, they helped with llines to get us on the dock, adjusted the lines to get our boarding steps (we were on our neighbor's catamaran) lined up to the dock just right, they helped get our power cables connected and routed out of the way so no trip hazard, they went to bring us ice for the coolers. The tiki bar was closed, but there was music playing, right next to the boat - they even changed the music selection to suit us (traded country western for Jimmy Buffet). This place is THE place to go to visit Tarpon Springs.

Definetly a class act, 2015-02-27
Captain: , Cincinnati (252)

Service makes the difference here. Every staff member must have to take customer service training. Really well maintained marina with floating finger piers. Staff takes care of all of your lines and power. The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars was the poor Wi-Fi. It rarely worked the week we spent here. The location is perfect for exploring the sponge docks as well as the historic downtown. Even a Publix and West Marine are with in walking distance, about a mile. Super secure marina, all gates have key card access. Stayed January 2015

Great staff and location, 2015-01-08
Captain: , New Buffalo, Michigan (600)

We were there for the month of December. Great monthly rates with secure location. Close to downtown Sponge Docks. Staff was unbelieveably accomodating. Went home for the Christmas Holidays and felt very comfortable our boat would be safe. Wifi did not work on most days they constantly had to reset it. The pumpout needed some work, a real project to pumpout the boat. The marina should contact Marina Jacks in Sarasota about how a pumpout should work. we draught 4.5 ft we had to be careful of water depth but if you hug the commercial boat side of the channel when you turn off marker #50 we had no problem 2 hours before low tide. Would return in a heart beat.

great location, 2014-12-19
Captain: , Holland (270)

we spent a few days here. discounted rates on dockage and fuel for loopers. super friendly and helpful staff. 1st pump out was free. nice pool and hot tub. great location near sponge docks. a long hike to restroom/shower but not that big of a deal.

Management response:
Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us. We hope you have great holiday and Happy New Year!

Goof for a short stay, 2014-12-15
Captain: , Mobile, AL. (151)

There isn't much water in the marina so it is necessary to watch the tides. The staff is excellent and very helpful. The marina has many boats stored and stacked in several large buildings and the fork lift is busy all day taking them down and putting them back. Lots of noise and the marina is lit up like daylight at night. The location is the best. Close to the Sponge Docks and many restaurants and other attractions are in easy walking distance. The Wi Fi worked two days during the week we stayed.

Superb marina, 2014-11-09
Captain: , Port Charlotte, FL (280)

Marina employees were the ultimate in courtesy and helpfullness. This is indeed a first class marina. Showers however, could be placed a lot closer. We draw 4'5" and had to come and go at near high tide.

Mixed feelings, 2014-10-12
Captain: , Hernando Beach, FL (184)

I have stayed here several times over the past couple of years. I believe they did some dredging recently, that's the good news. They also built large boat-a miniums type strorage facilities on the island where the transient slips are. The security lights are extremely bright, and I found it difficult to sleep with them shining through the portlights. I would suggest backing into the slip to avoid this. They also did not put any bathrooms in these buildings, so you still have to walk quite a ways for the toilet and shower. The staff is friendly and the marina is well situated, it would just be nice if they had considered their transient clientelle when they did their changes. I guess they make their money forklifting boats in and out of storage.

nice marina with great attractions near, 2014-07-13
Captain: , Port Arthur, Tx (476)

got us in on dock near fuel dock with 46' 24' beam 50 amp power on floating dock super friendly staff local shopping just short walk away food and shopping

Nice marina close to town, 2014-06-24
Captain: , Corpus Christi,Tx (1569)

We came into the marina after hours. Had called earlier and made arrangements for a slip. Staff left the gate card on the electrical pedestal. Didn't use facilities, but the marina was clean and had no issues with our 4.5 ft draft at low tide. Just stay close to the slips as you go in. Had a nice bar onsite. Close to town.

Disappointment, 2014-06-03
Captain: , Soddy Daisy, TN (40)

Nice facility with a sprawling layout and a vast maze of narrow channels
They ask what your required draft is, then neglect it. They sent our 5' draft boat to the back side fuel dock and nearby slip. When we tried to leave, we found some very hard bottom areas about 40" deep. Sustained several thousand dollars in prop damage. There are no postings or gage markers to warn you.
The local repair yard said they get a lot of repair work from this marina. Enter and leave only at high tide if your draft exceeds 40".

Bring a Bike, 2014-05-18
Captain: , Ft. Myers (376)

It is a serious hike to the head. One toilet and one shower for each sex. A nice staff and close to town is what saves this place. All the other reasonable marinas are across the river. The Tarpon Springs Municiple is so run down it is a joke.

Bottom line is that Turtle Cove is the best alternative.

If you get tired of the Greek Food (Hella's is a must) on the sponge docks try the Tarpon Tavern in the old downtown.

The main pet friendly dining places we found were Hella's, Costa's and the Tarpon Tavern.

Very nice marina, 2014-05-10
Captain: , Anna Maria, FL (165)

We recommend this marina because of the helpfulness of the staff and the quietness of the location. The marina is still in its building stage and is an active wet and dry storage marina. The transient slips were remote to the club house (opened weekends only in May at least) with its single shower for men and single shower for women. There is a nice laundry room at club house. The nicest thing is the location. As mentioned it is tucked away in a quiet place and is a short wak to the town with it many restaurants and shops. The canal off of the river to the marina is well marked and we had no trouble with 4' draft. There is dock side pump out that is an etra $5 and was not working the first day we arrived. Would definitely go again.

Nice and Friendly, 2014-04-12
Captain: , Fayetteville, Arkansas (651)

We just finshed a week at Turtle Cove Marina. The facilities are super nice and while the showers and the heads are a bit a of long walk from the boat, they are very clean and modern.

The marina is situated very close to the downtown action. It's an easy walk to the sponge docks and downtown touristy stuff. Take time to explore some of the bakeries in the area and buy some greek cheese and olives. Its inexpesnive and worth it.

For those wishing to provision. Enterprise will pick you up, for about 30/day. For the more adventuresome, take the dinghy about 2 miles to the south. Use google maps to find the subdivision that is located near the Winn-Dixie supermarket. Tie the dinghy and walk across the street. There is an ACE Hardware store too. Easy!

We initially booked for one night, which the marina staff cheerfully converted to a weekly rate after we decided to stay a bit longer. The daily rate was $1.50 and the weekly rate was 5.00/ft/week. After staying for 7 nights, the weather looked iffy, so we decided to stay an additional night. They were very accomodating.

Wonderful Family Stay, 2014-04-06
Captain: , Dunedin (50)

We came up to look around on April 6th with three little ones on board. We were talked in to the slip by staff and met with at dock with several employees who helped us tie up. They then gave the entire family a golf cart tour of the Sponge Docks and Bayou before taking us up to check in and then back to the boat. Heather was our tour guide and was wonderful and so helpful. Location was great...for kids the pool, hot tub, playground, and turtle pond were a big hit. Folks without kids could certainly enjoy the tiki bar at docks, or sit by the beautiful pool with an upstairs bar at club house. The club house was very close to Rusty Bellies, a favorite stop for us. Location practically at Sponge Docks was great. Wish we could have stayed longer, but will be back. BoatUS rate was $1.50 ft seemed very fair for the resort amenities. We had no problems with draft though came and went on higher side of incoming tide, just in case, but it was never close on our 3'7" draft on our 39' trawler. Wonderful place and even better staff...

Much easier to get in than I thought, 2014-04-05
Captain: , Gulf Harbour, Fl (238)

WE read all the reviews and it sounded like a great spot, but I was still worried about water depth, I draw 5 feet. We timed it for high tide going in and it was a piece of cake. Ignore your charts, they don't cover this area in enough detail to tell you anything. It is a lot deeper on the approach than indicated. Once in the marina, deep boats have to stay on the near side. Don't plan to take a deep boat to the back side at low tide for fuel.

We left at mid tide (1.5ft) and never saw less than 6 feet total water depth.

And as everyone said, they ae very friendly and helpfu.

Great Marina, 2014-03-02
Captain: , Bismarck, ND (21)

Everything the other reviews said was true! This place os only going to get better! If we are in the neighborhood again we will definitely plan on staying.

Excellent Location and People, 2014-02-13
Captain: , Annapolis (795)

Customer service here is outstanding. Prior to arriving, Kim called us to let us know that low tide was setting in (we draw 4.5'). John met us on the dock and helped tie us up and insisted on hooking up the electric. He then gave us a walking tour of the marina. Location is the best in Tarpon Springs - near the Sponge Docks and within walking distance of downtown, grocieries, etc. Docks are in good condition. The clubhouse is like a yacht club - pool, hot tub, first rate bathrooms, deck and so on. Some reviewers complain of a long walk, but it is not that far although you have to leave "the reservation" and cross the street to get to it. Marina office has a small ship's store and a lounge. This place is great in every respect.

On the negative side, there is construction going on of yet another boatel dry rack storage unit, so the place has a warehouse ambiance. The bath has but one seat and one shower. It is not exactly tricky getting in, but it is disconcerting travelling up the very narrow waterway to get in and it can be shallow. We saw 6.2 feet with aprx. 1.5 feet above MLW. Currently no wi-fi at the dock we were at, but that is supposed be fixed once construction is complete.

Highly recommend this place as long you draft 6' or less.

Great marina & getting better!, 2014-01-26
Captain: , Rochester, NY (50)

We stayed here in a wet slip the month of December, 2013 while visiting family for Christmas. The entire staff, owner included were extremely nice and helpful. Very eager to insure you have a great stay and certainly go above and beyond to exceed your expectations.

We draw just under 4' and could get in here ok, though any more than that and you will have to wait for tide assistance to get in or out.

The facilities are brand new and they are currently expanding and building more. The only reason we did not give Turtle Cove 5 stars is their internet did not reach our slip. We were assured though that once the new construction was complete this winter that wifi would be available throughout the entire marina. (They did have fast wifi, you just had to be near the tiki bar to get it)

I recommend staying with them if you have a chance. Very safe, quiet and protected.

Enter with Caution, 2014-01-08
Captain: , Absarokee Mt (1228)

Stayed from Dec 31-Jan 7. Good staff, very friendly. Limited services during holiday. We draw 3.5 ft. We entered on a falling tide near low, no problems. On leaving hit two underwater objects damaging both propellers. Had to pull boat and remove props for repar. Great place across from F&Y fuel stop for pull out (Pitmans).

turtle cove, 2013-12-24
Captain: , Chattanooga tn (281)

Great marina staff is very helpful and everything is clean and good condition. Only drawback is bathhouse, laundry and pool is good hike on other side of marina but told when finished with construction of new dry stack there will be laundry and bathhouse at transients slips. They even took me to vet to get Rex food for cat .

Awesome marina, 2013-11-14
Captain: , Port Sheldon (411)

The staff met us on the docks, tied up the boat, hooked up shore power, water, and fenders. Ed, the President of the marina stopped to make sure everything was going OK. Heather, the marketing manage asked if there was anything they could do make the marina better. All the staff was very friendly and professional. In 2014 they will have a restaurant on site.

Great and getting better, 2013-10-09
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2422)

Like Glenn said in the previous review, this place and the staff is great. The long walk to the shower facilities will be solved when the construction is completed as they will be located on the same island as the transient dock. I only see this place getting better and better, then they will deserve 5 stars.

Can't say enough good things about this place !, 2013-10-08
Captain: , Montgomery Alabama (1102)

The staff is friendly , the pool and hotub were awesome , the walk to the Winn-Dixie was a bit long , but thats not the marinas fault .
It is a bit of a hike to the clubhouse , where the bathrooms , laundry and pool is , but its not that bad .
On our last day there we discovered there is a Wal-Mart less than 1.5 miles away on East orange street
This is the most comfortable marina we have been in .
AND the price is reasonable .
Other reviews say its free laundry , that must have changed , because it is now coin operated .

We stopped back in on our way home from Key West Oct 2013 , construction still going on but everything is else is very nice with a very friendly staff .
We love it here !!

great stop over location close to inexpensive fuel., 2013-07-01
Captain: , Destin, Florida (20)

Transient docks are floating and very good. Beam is tight for anyone over 16 foot. Great facilities and pool. Construction of new storage but staff were extremely friendly. We will return and enjoy the great location and food.

Nice marina great dock hands, 2013-06-11
Captain: , Murfreesboro, TN (360)

We have stayed before but this time we found the facility under construction. The noise and dust was very disagreeable. The staff are very capable and friendly. The bath is a long walk but that is what the construction is for. We will stay again if we are in the area but hopefully the new dock house will be finished and Wifi will be avilable at the slips.

Not quite ready, 2013-06-03
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (980)

This is a place in transition. There is construction going on right by the slips so during the week it is noisy and dusty. The current showers and laundry are a "hike" from the slips, but it is a beautiful place to hook into the Wi-Fi. There is no Wi Fi at the slips. We liked Tarpon Springs and it is an easy walk to the Sponge docks and resturants. In the fall, if construction is completed and they build as planned we will return and give them a 5 star rating. Right now, the promised gulf cart never appears. Staff is friendly, but involved with in and out boats. We got a good rate, and all things considered this was one of the better places to be... still needs work for 5 stars

Great Place, 2013-03-11
Captain: , East Tawas, Mi (15)

One of the best places we have been to. marina and facilities are first class, Everything is new, Top of the line Club House, pool, hot tub and laundry facilities. pump out at each slip and the Staff makes sure that they take care of your every need.
Then there is Tarpon Springs and all that it has to offer.

Great location and good docks. Nice Pool., 2013-02-27
Captain: , Algonac, MI (1659)

Nice facility, but as others have noted, the one-holer bathroom is too far and the showers and pool are ridiculously far. The good news is that we were told that they are planning to build a new bathroom/shower building near the transient docks.

Nice marina w/exceptions, 2013-02-15
Captain: , Lancaster, PA (10)

I agree with the good and bad points listed below. Visited the first week of February. I draw 57". Ran aground on arrival near mid-tide (my fault, big boats in short slips). Put in slip #24. At MLLW I had 32" of water by lead line measurement. Poor slip choice by dockmaster. No cleats in some of slips. Marina help drove a stake in to provide a tie-down. Slips very short. Would return in future but need a slip with depth and assurance of reasonable tie-downs.

Tarpon Springs Best!, 2013-02-05
Captain: , Boca Raton, FL (355)

Needed a mid-tide to get in due to draft (5.5'). Staff and facilities are excellent. Try Dimitri's for an excellent greek dinner (short walk).

"THE" PLACE TO STOP, 2013-01-21
Captain: , Punta Gorda FL (10)

Awesome. Awesome, 2013-01-19
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (1696)

Came in here after the crossing - 9 boats in all. They were ready with plenty of help to get us all tied in nice and snug. Floating docks, kind of rocky and rolly. As noted things at the marina are kind of spread out but no biggie to us. As noted the staff is unbelievable. We wanted to have a barbecue before everyone shuffled off so I called and asked if they had a grill. They didn't so they went out and bought one for us to use. Very busy marina. Well protected. This is a great place to stay. Note: They respond better by telephone than by radio.
Tarpon Springs by the river is really quaint and fun. Good food at any of the Greek restaurants. Opah! Tip: There is a flag store a few doors down from the aquarium. They have lots of ships flags to choose from. Even state flags. We bought MO and CO to put up on our boat. The Pinellas County bike path is first rate.
$1.50 per foot and PUMP OUT AT THE SLIPS! - the best marina feature of them all.

A good site planner and architect may have been a good idea., 2013-01-12
Captain: , Charlestown (946)

This is a very nice facility and the staff is great and very helpful. It is a short walk to town and grocery (Winn Dixie about 1-1/4 mile) shopping. I wish I could say that for the on-site facilities. I don%u2019t know what they were thinking when they designed this place. The bathrooms with showers are a loooong walk. And the pool is in the same area. There is one single unisex restroom (no shower) a bit closer. There are only one men%u2019s shower/restroom and one woman%u2019s. To make matters worse they put the shower in the toilet stall.
This is also a beautiful covered boat storage facility if you want to keep your boat on a rack. If you have bikes there is a nice bike trail nearby. Don%u2019t waste your time or money at the Suncoast Primate Center. Hellas restaurant is wonderful and make sure you get the flaming cheese appetizer.

Cleanliness and updated facilities %u2013 5 stars
Distance and adequate # of facilities %u2013 1 star
Convenience to shopping - 5 stars
Staff helpfulness - 5 stars
My average rating is a 4, but if the convenience to the Bathrooms and showers is important to you then it is more like a 3.

Can't say enough good about this place., 2012-12-20

Excellent marina but be careful comng in, 2012-12-06
Captain: , Athens, NY (81)

Facilities and personnel are great. However, be very careful when coming in. With 5 ft. draft, we came in at half tide rising and would not want to try it with any less water. Also, our Garmin chart and the Active Captain chart show the wrong channel for entering the marina. After turning to right just past red 50, you should then take the first channel on your left, marked with several floating red markers. The charts and my chart plotter show this as dry land! Depths dropped rapidly when I missed this turn and tried to reach the entrance shown on the charts. Dinner at Mykonos Cookery was excellent, only a short walk from marina.

Facility is clean and new. As for facilities for transcients....not so good. There are 2 showers for for women. Showers and bathrooms are a long (very least 1/4 mile) walk from transcient dockage. Area near transcient docks has one picnic shade and no trash cans. There is a nice (but small) pool and spa (spa wasn't working while we were there). Both are a long walk from dockage (actually the same walk as to the shower & restroom). Nice place to keep your boat....not so great to visit.

Turtle Cove Marina is definitely the place to stay in Tarpon Springs. Only a block or so away from the sponge docks where all the action is. Typical tourist shops but interesting info on sponge industry. Greek restaurants are fantastic. Hellas was our favorite. Marina is next door to Hellas bakery. Too bad they don't give tours or samples of the bakery. Aroma is to die for. Marina staff is efficient and very friendly. Pool, free laundry, and bath rooms are fantastic. Tarpon Springs is like being in Greece.
Definitely stop here.

Dock Master Peter is the best, showed us all around when we got here. I was concerned about how to navigate to the place but Peter stayed on the phone with me all the way...super guy. Key is turn at marker 50, then hug the commercial boats, bing bong, your are there. Everybody at marina is smiling and happy, glad you've come bitching or laying blame....very helpful...couldn't ask for more....stayed here for a rest between Ft Myers and Appalachicola. Will stay again for sure....

Turtle Cove Marina - Tarpon Springs, 2012-04-12

The Turtle Cove Marina stands heads and shoulders above all the ones I have visited in my 23 years of boating. Mystique is a 49%u2019 DeFever CPMY with a 5%u2019 draft. A call to the marina prior to our visit confirmed that we would have the necessary depth in the approach and in the slip to accommodate our draft. We went in when the depth was one foot above mean low tide. The markers in the river are very well placed and provide easy guidance to the marina. We called the marina on channel 11 and they stayed with us until we got in sight of our assigned slip. When we arrived we were greeted by the president, the dock master and one of the dock hands to get us settled in our slip. Afterwards the dock master took us for a tour of the downtown area on a golf cart pointing out shops and restaurants. We found a capable and helpful staff in our quick visit to the office where we processed all the necessary paperwork for our stay.

The marina has a club house with swimming pool, hot tub, free washer and drier and bath house. There is a friendly Tiki Hut at the marina where boaters can relax, have an interesting conversation with a bar tender from Manchester England and compare cruising notes. The facilities are like new and are maintained with high standards. One common theme throughout the employee base is customer service. Although this is not a maintenance yard, I mentioned that I was in need of some new batteries. In less than an hour I had a proposal for replacement batteries and the president told me he would get some of his people to help me install them. I needed to have my TV repaired and I was taken to the local TV repair shop to drop it off and later to pick it up. The dock master arranged for a diver to inspect the bottom of my boat. There is a waste water pump out station at each slip and the dock hands come by and help get this job done. The marina does not have diesel but they will arrange for a truck to bring the diesel directly to your boat.

The marina is within a couple of blocks of the sponge docks. There are numerous restaurants (Costas was our favorite) and shops of all kinds. Transportation within the city is by Jolly Trolley and city bus. They also run as far as Clearwater.

We thought to stay a couple of nights here but ended up staying for three weeks. We definitely will make this a stop on our return trip next year. A big thanks to Ed, Peter, and Nichole for making this a pleasant stay.

We arrived at Turtle Cove Marina, Tarpon Springs, FL after an overnight crossing from Carrabelle. It was great having someone to meet you when you arrive and to help with lines. Dockmaster Pete Dawood not only met us but took us to the office to sign in and gave a tour of the facility by golf cart. The facilities are clean and well maintained ...and...I didn't need quarters for doing my laundry.

Price for value cannot be beat at Turtle Cove. Facilities are new and well maintained. Floating docks ! We had enough water at low tide, but if you are worried, ask for Peter Daewood when you call for reservations. He boated out to the sound and guided us to the marina ! Now that is service !!

We arrived at this Marina after a 31-1/2 hour trip from Panama City. Peter, the dockmaster met us to help us into the slip and gave us an orientation tour. This Marina is SPOTLESS. All of the equipment works, there is pump out at each slip. The docks are new and floating. You are just a block or two from the sponge docks and restaurants but out of any wakes or tourist peeking. The marina is completely secure with the only way in through a gate or by scuba. We have seen the owner each day checking the docks and boats personally, even though Peter is alway around and is very responsive to your needs. A visit from the fuel truck is available right to your slip. The pool, sauna, restrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. A quiet and relaxing experience. We highly recommend it.

This is the only place to stay while in Tarpon Springs., 2012-03-08

Tarpon Springs is a must visit for anybody that is passing through. The sponge docks are a great place to laze away the days while you visit Greek restaurant after Greek restaurant.

When you visit Tarpon Springs, Turtle Cove marina should be your only option on where to stay. The facilities are brand new and top of the line. They have floating docks, which is always a plus. They have a pool and Jacuzzi area that can only be described as beautifully designed and maintained. They have first class shower facilities and washer and dryer facilities.

There location is less than two blocks from the sponge docks. Just far enough away that you can enjoy a quiet and peaceful evening on your boat but close enough to easily walk to the sponge docks.

If the facilities weren't enough, the staff here is as friendly and helpful as anywhere we have been. Pete, the harbor master, was fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed and he offered us great advice on restaurants to visits and sights to see.

We will definitely be back. Thanks Pete, Ed and the rest of the crew at Turtle Cove.

New Marina, but watch your depth, 2012-02-26

We came into Turtle Cove at mid tide and had no problem with our 3 ft. draft. Leaving at 1.5 hrs after dead low, not so good. We spent an hour on the bottom in the middle of the channel. These folks are trying to attract more transients, but don't expect everything to be perfect. They still have some things to complete, like ramps on every finger pier. But this marina is located a block from all the action of Tarpon Springs, has a fabulous clubhouse, showers, free laundry, and pool/jacuzzi. You will not find a friendlier crew who truly go out of their way to help. It would be a 5 rating if not for the few items not yet done.

This is an all new marina with everything first class. Floating docks, very friendly, professional and helpfull staff. Is the only decent marina on the town side of the river. Good public transportation. Secure. No laundry but they are working on getting this taken care of. They are working hard to make this a transient destination. Shallow at low tide. They probably need a channel map on their web site for low tide entrance.

Turtle Cove Marina is a new facility that was much needed in this area. It is located on the south side of the river in a very quiet location that is a short walk to the sponge docks. Very friendly and helpful staff that will meet you at the dock after hours if needed. All docks are floating with power and water that will accomidate boats up to 50'. Pump-out and fuel are also available. This marina also has a pool, showers, hot tub and tiki bar that are first class.
