Reviews for Trent Talbot Marina
good friendly place, 2014-07-24

It is an older, small-boat marina, but they have a captain's lounge with satellite TV, and good wifi. I had a mechanical problem, they called a technician and he fixed me right up. The channel IS narrow and very weedy, but then, so is much of the canal. Three stars because it is isolated, no amenities that many cruisers like. But it has the basics.

We are so sorry we came in here. The channel is narrow, shallow & filled with weeds. There were so many weeds on our rudder that it became tough to steer. We wanted to turn back, but the channel was too narrow to turnaround. We started to overheat when the weeds clogged the engine strainer. There is 30 amp electric, but the outlets are so worn the plug falls out. The area is filled with bugs. There is nothing here, but small boats & campers. The only bright spot is the wifi.

Trent Talbot Marina, 2011-07-28
Captain: , Hampton, VA (389)

A hidden retreat off the Trent Canal. Our Wave Wi-Fi is no longer working and we needed internet. This marina was back on its own canal. We had depth readings of 2.5 feet under our hull, our draft is 3 feet, while getting back to the marina. I would only recomend this marina for boats under 40 feet and shallower drafts. It is a narrow and tight canal! The marina is more for boats less than 36 feet so we barely fit with an LOA of 41.
We had issues with negative pollarity with one of our 2 -30 amp legs and as a result only used 1-30amp pedistal during our stay.

The grass growth is really bad back here. You will be cleaning your strainers if you stay here.
