Reviews for Tradewinds Sailing School and Club
Lessons and Club Membership, 2015-01-20
Captain: , Richmond Marina (20)

I started at Tradewinds in 2010 taking the basic ASA classes. I then later signed for a Club Membeship. I can highly recommend both the classes and club membership; the latter in particular is probably one of the most affordable and sensible ways to spend a lot of time on the water in SF Bay.

Great place to learn to sail!, 2013-04-25

I am very hapy with my membership with Tradewinds. Matt and Brandy operate a well-maintained facility and fleet of boats. The instructors on staff are the best on the west coast!

It's like an extension of my family, 2012-11-17

I've been a member of Tradewinds for 3 years. Their courses are great (lots of time on the water and great instructors). My wife calls Tradewinds my Cheers (bar). Going there guarantees seeing some friends. In the three years I've gone from newbie to cruising up and down the CA coast. It's a good place to make contacts with others.

Awesome, highly recommended!, 2011-09-24

I am new to sailing and the sailing school was great. I took the basic course and I cannot wait to take more courses with the club. The members and instructors are top notch and down to earth. I feel very lucky that I found this club!

Tradewinds Sailing Club and School, 2011-03-31

I spent a week here with as ASA IQC; this is a wonderful, family run facility that is an absolute joy to visit. Butch, Brandy and Matt will make you feel at home, the deck is a great place to enjoy a frosty beverage and the boats are all ship-shape and bristol. A great charter facility and a great ASA school.

Tradewinds Sailing Club, 2010-11-15

I've been a member for seven years and its a great club with a large number of sailboats available to rent. They also offer ASA sailing classes. Everyone's very friendly and it has a nice family feel there.

Great School and Club, 2008-09-14
Captain: , Richmond (12)

I believe that this is the only club of its kind in SF Bay. The school is professionally run and a lot of time is spent on the water.

The club is awesome in that for a set monthly fee, you can sail the boats in the fleet as much as you want. The fleet ranges from older boats in good mechanical condition to new boats in the 30-42' range. There is no better way to learn to sail and get a lot of sailing hours in than this club!

Great Value, 2007-02-11

I have been associated with Tradewinds for over 15 years. During that time, I have had almost all positive experiences. If you want to learn to sail, this is the place to do it. Not only are the prices right, but you will become a confident and competent skipper just like the ads say. I own one of the boats in their fleet and I feel comfortable having Tradewinds graduates sail my boat. The people are nice also. BTW, the management changed several years ago. At that time, things were beginning to fall apart but everything is much better now.
