Operation (seasonal or year-round)

Additional info: The Marina is open year round, however, the Kalamazoo River freezes over so almost everyone hauls out and has their yacht shrink wrapped by Dockside Detailing (616-392-9622). Tower will winterize the vessel and provide all the services for engine maintainance but it's best if the owner is present or provides a detailed listing of all equipment to be drained and winterized.

Approach following channel markers on West side of Lake after passing the chain ferry. The lake is navigable for only shallow draft craft.

The channel is well marked. The bottom is light silt from the Kalamazoo River.

Great Staff, 2016-08-22

The staff at the marina are excellent and very professional.

Good place to be stuck, 2016-08-21
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2870)

We planned on two days, but weather kept us here for four. The facility and pool were nice, as were the staff and other boaters.

The local transit bus is very cheap and a great way to get around. You can also dinghy across the river to the city dock. We found the Saugatuck Center for the Arts to have a wonderful musical playing and enjoyed it.

Good stop, beautiful setting, 2015-09-25

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, clean restrooms, good laundry, Enterprise will pick u up. Visit Sagatuck using dingy, fun town , many good restaurants, shops Etc. Good place to kayak, walk and bike.

Quiet, clean, nice facility, 2015-08-09

Stayed here in a transient slip for a few nights in July 2015. Made a reservation the day before just to be sure. Nice folks, attentive dock hand saw us coming in a rushed to untie another boat's line that was blocking our slip's entry. Good experience throughout.

Pool is heated, great bonus for kids. Nice playground area. The marina is on the other side of the lake from Saugatuck though. The "shuttle" is unreliable though. We called twice and they never came. They also will not drive onto marina property to pick you up so you have to walk a good 10-15 minutes to the main road and get picked up there. We decided to walk into Saugatuck, about a 30 minute walk (1.5 miles). If you have bikes or a dinghy, even better. Overall a great stay, just don't count on the shuttle to take you into town or you will be disappointed.

Super clean and very friendly, 2015-08-02
Captain: , Spring Brook Marina (10)

Great marina with a very friendly staff. They hosted a group of 9 Prestige Yachts owners for a weekend and were very accomodating with slips and anything we needed. Definitely a spot to stop in the Saugatuck/Douglas area. Take a tender though, it'd be super helpful! Thanks Joyce and RJ for taking great care of us!!!

Very nice marina, beautiful grounds and pool, 2015-07-17
Captain: , Iuka, MS (1130)

Plenty of depth with present lake level. Really clean bath and shower area. For $1, interurban shuttle will pick you up and take you anywhere in the area. Personally, we liked downtown Douglas better than touristy Saugatuck.

I really like this Marina. Had a very relaxing stay there in a transient slip on Labor Day weekend 2014. Quiet, friendly, well run landscaped facilty. Nice pool. As others mentioned follow the channel markers closely. If arriving at night watch out for mooring lines across what appear to be open slips. A metro shuttle bus runs until 7PM that will take you to Saugatuck or Douglas for a $1 a ride. Taxi service is available after 7PM. Douglas is a short walk from Tower, Saugatuck a little longer. If walking back from town at night bring some bug spray! In Saugatuck there is a dinghy dock at the far west side of Sergeant Marine. It's in front of the public park.

Good marina, 2014-03-27
Captain: , Chicago, IL (1056)

Saugatuck/Douglas was always a summer stop for us while on Lake Michigan - Douglas is a smaller town, but has restaurants, groceries, shopping all within walking distance of Tower. Across the lake is a free dinghy dock if you want to explore Saugatuck - more shopping, restaurants, galleries, can be quite congested during season. Kayak/paddle the Kalamazoo River.

Pleasant, full service marina, 2013-09-20
Captain: , Ashland, OR (122)

Stayed two nights in mid-Sept, the marina has good facilities and staff is friendly. The ships store is reasonably well stocked.

If you have a tender stay here, 2012-04-05
Captain: , indiana (331)

Less expensive than the other marinsa around. If you have a tender there is a dinghy dock in town that you can tye up to for free. The pool is nice.

Tower Marine, 2009-07-01
Captain: , Storm Lake, IA (20)

The facilities for transient boats are good, and a lot more reasonably priced than across the water in Saugatuck, but not nearly so convenient to town. There's a bus, but that involves some waiting.

Not able to reach the marina with 5' draft summer of 2005. Tried all local knowledge with several attempts but no go, slid into the mud. Too bad as it is a very nice facility

Tower Marine, 2007-06-26
Captain: , Saugatuck, Mi (17)

Not in town, but much more private and quiet.
For a real treat, take boat or dinghy to the "Red Dock" for a great BBQ and Margarita and live entertainment Located adjacent to Tower Marine.

Not is Saugatuck, 2007-01-30
Captain: , Spring Lake Michigan (79)

Although this marina is not in Saugatuck, a local phone call brings a shuttle bus for short ride into Saugatuck.
