"Two if by Seas" cafe (not waterfront) is about a 2-block walk, serves a good breakfast and some other limited meals. Harrisons is another two blocks (distance), and they offer shuttle services; meals are OK, not outstanding. The Bridge Restaurant, Tilghman Island Inn, and The Bay Hundred restaurant are almost 1 mile further up the road toward the Narrows; the road has no shoulders and is not particularly bicycle-friendly.

Access to restaurants in the Narrows (or Harrisons) by dinghy was much easier, although a dinghy dock for the Bridge wasn't obvious.

Reviews for Tilghman on Chesapeake
Must Stop here, 2016-08-29
Captain: , New Buffalo, Michigan (600)

Floating docks, excellent pool and facilities, free laundry, free pumpout, walk or short bike ride to town. Buy 2 nights get 1 free. Museum and bookstore owners opened for us during the week after we made a phone call. Two if by sea -good breakfast. A diy fruit stand and cocktails by the bridge were both nice.

Outstanding Marina and Facilities, 2015-09-17
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (310)

By far, the best pool on the Bay. The staff is outstanding.

Good stop on Tilghman Island, 2015-07-25
Captain: , baltimore md (644)

It is all here very nice pool, W/D and ice. Doug checked us in and couldn't have been nicer. They have a pay for 2 get the 3rd day free deal right now that makes this a great bargin. we have bikes and toured around but decided on Harrison for our evening meal. Crab cakes and their signatue fried chicken with all the sides. Probably the best meal on this one month Chesapeake trip!

Floating docks near everything, 2015-06-01
Captain: , Nowhere,OK (1314)

We stayed here the last week of May. It was easy to get into, we had deep water (for the bay) the entire way. We biked to Two if By Sea and Harrisons for our food choices. (Really how much seafood can you eat?!?)

Pool is nice, on a 90 degree day it's nice to float in cold blue water.

Issue around Knapps are not a problem. Step one, call the bridge tender and ask about the current, plan from there. Step two remember the red/green rules. STICK TO THE MARKERS. Don't assume that since the red is way over there that way over here is good. Step three, look at the pro boaters. If they are in front of you, that's a good thing.

Sorrry to rant, but lots of the Chesapeaks best places have thin water that is well marked. Well marked is the key! Don't pass Tilghman's Island up!

Excellent Marina, 2015-05-22
Captain: , Newcastle upon Tyne (463)

Very nice facility with pool, floating docks, easy entry from south. Excellent restaurant about half a mile, Two If By Sea. Pleasant small eastern shore place. Only drawbacks for us were comments by a local boater about the risks of running aground in Knapps Narrows. We didn't dare risk it and had to detour about 8miles to go north. Nice to see the skipjacks in the dock and one out for a sail.

Good marina, but a little exposed., 2014-08-30
Captain: , Annapolis (30)

Sayed overnight, and found the facilities very nice. The Dockmaster (Paul) was very helpful. Good restaurants within walking distance. Only negative is that the marina is pretty exposed. We bounced pretty heavy all night from a Southeast wind, and from the boat traffic headed in and out of the creek from Harrison's Chesapeake House.

Best on the bay, 2014-08-30

Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quiet marina with floating docks, 2014-06-26
Captain: , Solomons, MD (110)

We spent one night at Tilghman on the Chesapeake on our way north and very much enjoyed our stay. The entry channel is easy to navigate. Harbormaster Paul Davis was on hand to catch lines and help us get into our roomy slip on a very windy day. The facilities are clean and well maintained and finding a floating slip on the Chesapeake is always a treat. The pool has a spectacular view of the Choptank River. The marina is away from all the hubub and wakes of Knapp's Narrows but it's still just a short walk into town. We look forward to another visit.

The perdect palce to relax, 2013-07-26
Captain: , bear, de (364)

A great marina in a beautiful location with an amazing view of the bay. Good utiilities wifi power and water. deep water. Can rock and roll as it is a little exposed. Paul is a gentleman! A year later and still the the perfect palce to relax on the bay.

Stayed 7/19/13-Excellent, 2013-07-21
Captain: , Cherry Hill (237)

Excellent location. Marina is on a man made island of Oyster shells from its earlier days as an Oyster packing plant. Beautiful location with refreshing winds off the river. Pool has 270 degree view of open water. Ultra clean facilities too! Paul the dockmaster very friendly and efficient.

Tilgman on Chesapeake, 2013-07-11
Captain: , Bodkin Creek Md. (207)

Just stayed there for the second year in a row and nothing has changed. They are boater friendly and have a great pool and nice view. Squeeky clean place. Nice showers and can walk to a few restaurants.

Great place to relax, 2012-06-24
Captain: , Frog Mortar Creek, Middle R., Chesapeake (420)

06/2012 - Still same great place. Paul still as pleasant and helpful as ever. Restaurant update: Bridge Rest. closed. Bay Hundred there but no rides. Harrison's looking much better: grounds cleaned-up, money spent to improve the walks and docks, etc. Food better than has been in recent years. There are two others I haven't visited.

Situated on an island with causway to mainland this Yacht Club and marina have one of the best pools on the bay. It's large and clean. Situated on a knoll it overlooks the Choptank R. Clean facilities, very friendly staff. Pump out available. Short walk to Harrisons Restaurant and Dogwood Harbor with it's large commencial fleet. One of the few remaining on the Bay. Well marked and plenty of water to the marina.

Windy, but pleasant, 2011-09-06
Captain: , Londontowne, MD (470)

The marina is on an island associated with the long dock of an old packing house/ferry landing, and the marina is also associated with the adjacent housing community. If B-Dock was rebuilt this year, it's not evident on the T-head... which is slightly tilted and a bit roll-y, probably from the force of larger boats being held off by the wind. Although the breeze made temperatures pleasant, near-constant winds of 15-18 knots from the SE/SSE pushed us off the dock face and made our stay a bouncy one; we had to use additional fenders plus three separate forward springs and two separate aft springs, in addition to bow and stern lines. Winds from the N/NE would also have been equally uncomfortable, although those would have the affect of blowing us onto the dock, rather than away. In very serious storm-grade winds this would not be a comfortable marina, since its island location is basically unprotected from most directions. The charter fleet and private boats entering/leaving nearby Harrison's or the dock/ramp in Dogwood Harbor may or may not slow down as they pass, contributing to rolling movement at the T-O-C docks.

The facility is very attractive. Paul Davis (dockmaster) is very friendly, he was very flexible about reservation details (given uncertainty caused by recent hurricane-related activities) and he was very helpful with lines as we used spring lines against the wind to get tied up on the dock. The clubhouse showers and the pool are all very nice... although the water in the pool was especially chilly (possibly aftermath of Hurricane Irene, the previous weekend).

Restaurant review: our outdoor dinner one night at Harrison's was "OK." Food was acceptable but not special, service came close to adequate, and the spiders stayed far enough away so we didn't have to wrestle with 'em. Breakfast the next morning -- both food and service -- at the slighly nearer cafe was pretty good.

How did we miss this place before?, 2011-08-03
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (71)

Easy walk to Harrison's. Local transportation provided to Tilghman Island Inn (my wife's favorite). A pool like no other. Warm, friendly staff. Oh, yeah!

Best Mid Bay stop on the Eastern Shore, 2011-06-30
Captain: , Wicomico Creek, MD (494)

Floating docks, killer pool, Wi FI access, friendly service. Several restaurants within walking distance. Bike ride the entire island. Great place to decompress, watch the work boat traffic. Been coming here for 10 years and have never been disappointed with the service, docks, pool or facilities.

Easy Access, 2011-04-20
Captain: , Jensen Beach FL (138)

This is a good marina on the Choptank with easy access. Very clean and very well kept. B Dock was completely rebuilt this year. Not very large but quiet especially during the week. Although it is exposed and not a comforatable place to be during a NE wind. Be sure to double up your lines and add fenders if you plan to leave the boat for any length of time.

Clean, well-run facility, 2010-05-27
Captain: , Herrington Harbour South, MD (202)

Excellent floating docks with good depth and protection. Great pool and nice clubhouse with lots to do nearby.
