Additional info:

The channel is well marked, but shoaling is always an issue in the area. Approaching from the bay-side (west), hug the R4 marker; a temporay green float to port shows how skinny that channel can be. It's not uncommon to see boats being pulled off the shoal because they didn't honor the marks.

Reviews for Tilghman Island Marina
Nice marina and nice poeple, but bad electric, 2015-09-15
Captain: , Lewis Creek, Md (1304)

I reallly like Ron and Nancy at the marina, but power has always been a issue. Pool is Okay, showers fine though no AC.

Great location, super clean, 2014-07-14
Captain: , Doylestown pa (30)

Stayed on outside dock before marina entrance. 50 and 30 amp service was available. Very accommodating staff. Concerned about your stay. Bathrooms clean and private. Resturant next door top notch dinner or breakfast. Stay to red side in and out of channel.

Nice Local Marina, 2014-06-30
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (130)

This is our second stay at this marina. Very friendly and accommodating owners. There are not many amenities at the marina, although they do rent boats and jet skis, but the town of Tilghman is close by which has basic provisions. Slips are very protected but the basin is small so maneuvering into a slip can take some patience. The current through Knapps Narrows is fast when the tide is running so plan your turn into the marina entrance as it is somewhat narrow. Once inside there is good protection from wind and currently. Slips were deep enough for our 4%u2019 draft but we did kick up some mud during low tide. There are only two restaurants open on the island at this time and we ate at Harrisons Country Inn which has a crab deck overlooking Harris Creek. Food was average, view was good. It is about a mile from the marina. Overall nice marina.

THE spot on Tilghman, 2014-01-09
Captain: , Chester, MD (225)

This small, very homey marina is run by some of the nicest folks you will meet. Very customer orneinted. Neat, clean. Fair prices and within walking distance of restaaurents, etc. on Tilghman. Unlike their nearby competitor, slips are out of the busy channel .

Clean facilities but shallow entrance, 2013-08-22
Captain: , Rochester, NY (493)

Nice place - clean but primitive showers and restrooms.
Nearby restaurant is said to be pricey so we avoided it.

Not much protection outside for boats that can't fit inside the rather close confines of the marina. We tossed and turned all night!

Serious shoaling as you come in - we bottomed with our 6 foot keel coming and going at mid-tide, but the powerboats roaring by along with the current helped us off.

The Fish Traps are almost invisible even in mid-day - a serious hazard, so approach slowly!

Very pleasant!, 2013-08-13

We very much enjoyed our 2-night stay, and as others have said, Capt Ron and Nancy are very friendly, very helpful! Their transient dockage fees are some of the best around. The outer pier offers the best view, but the trade-off can a bouncy night in heavy weather. Slips inside their basin offer more protection in heavy weather, but there's also a practical limit to the size vessels they can handle... and depth at low tide probably isn't suitable for deep draft boats. We had to deal with a surprising cross-wind as we entered, and turning our 48' in a 50' fairway -- without getting too affectionate with the big motor yacht on the other side of the fairway -- took us a bit of time... and since the cross-wind continued throughout the next day, we elected to stay over if Ron and Nancy could accommodate; they could, so we did. Ron and Nancy also offered a powerboat ride to another marina/restaurant slightly further north on the Bay for dinner/drinks with them, and even though we chose not to do that, we very much appreciated their offer, and that they joined us for Happy Hour on our bridge the next day. Our extra day layover gave us a chance to check out both nearby restaurants on the south side of the Narrows: Tilghman Island Inn, and Character's Bridge Restaurant. Both worth a visit, the former slightly more eclectic and more expensive than the latter. The marina is one of the few places around that rents small power boats of various sizes, along with the PWC and kayak rentals, so small boat traffic offered some good entertainment as we did our chorese or lunged on the bridge.

Great Little Marina!, 2013-07-10
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (310)

This is a wonderful little marina on Knapps Narrows. They have some of best views on the Chesapeake. The owners could not be nicer and have lots of water toys for rent. Easy walk to restaurants. Stop here on your next through Knapps Narrows.

Nice, clean marina, great su nsets on the bay, 2013-05-14
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (350)

This marina was very friendly, and clean, with nice amenities such as a pool, waverunner rentals, and within walking distance to restaurants.

Nice little marina, 2012-07-17
Captain: , Rock Hall Md. (138)

Stayed there on 7/5/12. Very helpful with local knowledge of waterway. When entering cross into the fairway with power. The current can push you towards the bulkhead. There is room to manuver in the farway once inside.

Excellent Marina..., 2012-02-08
Captain: , Annapolis (795) why only three stars? Stayed here for a weekend summer of 2010. Excellent staff, great location just inside the narrows, and the slips were in good condition. Cp'n Ron is great, but this is a mom and pop marina. We had issues with the shore power (was so hot, the voltage was too low, I think). The pool is nice, but tiny. Bath house was nice but rustic. I recommend this place very highly, but it is not fancy at all.

Nice marina, 2011-09-06
Captain: , Galesville, MD (1341)

Nice, clean, small-ish marina with just what you need. Seemed to have more power boats, but no problem accommodating our sailboat with 5'8" draft along the "seawall".
Very cool bascule bridge with friendly bridge tender.
Very interesting nautical bookstore, Crawfords, open on weekends. Walking distance - south down the main street across from Harrisons
Fun taking the dinghy in the marshes.

Very nice, very frendly, clean, 2011-05-28
Captain: , Gull Bay, Lake George, NY (274)

A very nice place. We spent 2 days here waiting for the 30+ knot winds to subside. Well protected. One of the cleanest marinas I have ever seen. Free breakfast included with dock fee. Also have free WiFi, but did not reach our slip, had to go to lounge to get good reception. Not much within walking distance, a few restaurants and 2 small convenient stores. I am a runner, so had nice places to go for a run on the roads with very little traffic.

Nice marina but!, 2011-05-11
Captain: , Mullica Hill, NJ (688)

Quite small marina mostly for seasonal and residents of the houses in the developement. Face dock is fine and the manager is very helpful, although we got no help docking. It is very clean. But it is a bare bones marina. Very good location for an easy exit to the bay.

Great Little Marina, 2011-01-15
Captain: , Philadelphia (10)

We stumbled upon this quaint little marina last season. Though they were almost full, Captain Ron moved a few of his rental boats around so that he could accommodate us. We ended up staying for 3 days using his rental motor scooters, bikes, kayaks and jetskis. This place was one of our most memorable marina stays last year. When asked this year our kids all agreed that we must spend several days there this season. Grounds, bathrooms, pool area are all kept impecably clean and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for such a nice time Captain Ron & Nancy - see ya this year. Captain Steve & Lorraine.

Nice plus Captain Ron!, 2011-01-13
Captain: , deale md (181)

Basic services, small but nice pool.

And who does love Captain Ron.

No problems like others have had, always nice.

Problems with water depth and 50A service - 28th Aug 2010, 2010-09-01
Captain: , Leesburg VA (175)

Slip 5 was reserved for us for an overnight stay. As we backed into slip, both engines stopped when we ran aground %u2013 our draft is 4%u2019 and we requested a slip that would handle 4 1/2%u2019. We pulled boat forward from pilings, refloated and started engines back up and moved to slip 7. Water depth ok here but had problems with 50A service. Had to switch to 30A - 50A converter and plug into main breaker nearby as dock statio power kept failing. Staff friendly and helpful - which is why I rated 2 stars instead of 1. Calm night within marina - strong current runs outside in Knapps Narrows.

Well-run, immaculate marina., 2009-10-07
Captain: , Maryland (105)

Ron & Nancy run a pretty tight ship. We love visiting for the well-maintained facilities, the semi-private pool, and the outstanding sunsets. If there's any "toy" that you need to rent (e.g. kayak, canoe, bike, boat, etc.), they have it.

Captain: , Hollywood, MD (142)

Nice little marina for 1 night stay. Friendly staff. They run it out of their garage. Great pool. Stayed on the canal bulkhead (No wide slips). Wakes weren't bad at all. Restaurant next door, several walkable, and 1 that picks up.

The worst, 2008-09-15
Captain: , baltimore, md (106)

The currents are bad and the entry is shallow - Ran aground during low tide. MArina operator said I did not run aground.
Poor facilties, poor docks, little to do
