Additional info:

Approach

Thornbury Harbour is located at the south end of Nottawasaga Bay between Collingwood and Meaford at the mouth of the Beaver River. The only significant offshore hazards in the vicinity are the Craigleith Shoals, 5 nm to the east of the harbour. Approaching from the north, you will see the prominent Blue Mountain (150 m high) to the east and a smaller escarpment to the west. Another prominent landmark is the white Thornbury Water Tower (affectionately known as the Thornbury Lollipop) which stands about 1 kilometer inland. A fairway buoy 'TT' is located at 44° 34.15' N, 80° 26.53' W, off the Harbour mouth. From this buoy the course to the end of the pier is 205° True. The channel into the Harbour is to the left of the end of the pier.

A landfall light is located at the end of the pier, showing white if you are on course, red if you are to the right of the course, and green if you are to the left of the course.

Reviews for Thornbury Municipal Harbour
Three-star marina with a five-star price, 2015-08-01
Captain: , Algonac, MI (1659)

Docks are solid and the staff is helpful. We were initially given a bathroom key that doesn't work. After a long wait for a replacement we found a very basic facility. For $2.20/foot plus electricity there should be wifi!

Day Sailing, 2010-09-24
Captain: , Esquimalt BC (59)

Brought our 22' daysailer from Ottawa to Thornbury. They were very eager to make our trip and stay easy (quite opposite from places I called in Collingwood - e.g. Cranberry Resort) Simple facility but well laid out and taken care of. Nice and quiet. Good launch ramp. Stayed on fingers A and B (see link to PDF map). Entrance a piece of cake with the fairway buoy and lots of room in the mouth. For our 22'er with outboard motor at least. Fuelled up from the service dock.
The sailing was great - made it down to vic. Collingwood easily. Eyeball nav along the shore no problem. Dropped the pick few times off the hbr for swim-ex.
Thornbury is a nice - but small - place. Quaint shops and restaurants.
