Reviews for Thetis Island Marina
Thetis Island Pub/Restaurant, 2017-08-23
Captain: , Pender Harbour, BC (421)

Very nice pub, outdoor seating available with a great view of the channel and allmarine traffic. Friendly staff, and fresh clams (in season) are a good choice! Fuel dock, and 30 amp power available. Dinghy dock for the pub.
Usually moor at the Telegraph Harbour Marina, but tried this one, as I was not up to launching the tender for groceries and the pub. The docks are average, service very good, and the power is solid.

Didn't moor, but ate/drank..will be back!, 2016-08-08
Captain: , North Vancouver, BC (568)

Dingied over from the other (VERY expensive) marina - very handy dinghy dock, easy walk o the deck. Excellent ser i e, excellent food, excellent drink and the view to boot. will definately return only next time we'll moor here..

We Meet Here Annually and We Like It., 2014-10-13
Captain: , Swalwell (228)

Our association (Bluewater Cruising Association) meets here every Canadian Thanksgiving for a rendezvous. This year we had 28 boats and all enjoyed a sit-down Thanksgiving feast in the pub and overflow area. The staff are enthusiastic and helpful and the place has everything we need close at hand. It's a bit small and rustic, but that's the way we like it. At other times, the Pub is a must stop for many of us passing by. Phone ahead in the off-season, though, as their hours are shorter then.

The place is going downhill, 2014-09-09
Captain: , Olalla WA (412)

We've come here every year for the past 5-6 years, and this year it has gone downhill so far that we'll stay at Telegraph Harbour Marina next time; same price per foot and much nicer facility. Both places have good restaurant food. The dockhand here helped us tie up, but we told her we'd be leaving very early the next morning, and several other boats were tied up behind us, and that meant we couldn't get out. So in the morning we had to hand-walk other boats around to the other side of the dock so we could get out. They were very unhappy with us, and the dockhand wouldn't help. Wifi was off-and-on, bathrooms haven't seen maintenance recently, and the advertised laundry is never available because they're always doing their restaurant linens in the only machine. We used to like this funky place; no more.

Very Disappointing, 2014-08-09
Captain: , Point Roberts (30)

Moorage is reasonable at 1.35/ft but 30a power is $10.50, Wi-Fi is incl. but weak. Pub and food are good. Docks are in pretty poor shape, the log breakwater they had is gone except for 1 log. Laundry is broken, showers - the water pressure is very low, they say they last 3.5 min but we experienced 2 min per Loonie. The dock hands didn't start until 11:30 a.m. And nobody monitored VHF before that. We won't be back.

Good food, nice people., 2013-08-11
Captain: , Vancouver (282)

A nice smaller marina, with all needed basic services. You can get fuels and convenience groceries, and food at the pub is substantially better than we expected. Free Wifi too. In hot weather, the 10 minute walk over to Preedy Harbor is well worth it, for very nice swimming south of the government wharf.

a port in the storm, 2012-11-23
Captain: , campbell river, bc (70)

We decided to dock to avoid a S-SE gale in mid-Oct and were directed to a spot just south of the fuel dock. Marina is a little on the funky side but servicable and dock/pub people friendly and helpful (note that the pub has limited hours and very limited menu in the "off season"}. Only real downer was being smashed into at 2am by one of the derelect junkers in the mooring field directly south. During the storm it dragged a couple hundred feet right into the marina and our boat. No damage to our battleship but an interrupted sleep. The marina folk said it wasn't the first time it had happened.

Good basic services, 2012-10-16

This is a great location to hike the island. The pub has friendly staff, great food, and ice cold beer.

Excellent low key marina, 2012-09-05
Captain: , Bellingham, WA (77)

Nice wide docks with power and water. Helpful staff who meets your boat and will assist with docking if necessary. The cafe/pub has excellent food. Dog-friendly with nice beach at low tide for exercise and swimming. Short walk over the hill to ferry terminal and the boat to Chemainus and its famous murals on Vancouver Island. We've stayed here several times and have never been disappointed.

Nice Pub and facilities, 2011-02-05
Captain: , Olalla, WA (342)

Seems they are working to improve the marina. Great food and the view of the waters are #1. There is a nice liquor store next to the Pub but don't expect to use cc most times. They prefer cash. showers are nice, dog friendly but as stated before, not really great for kids activities. You could stay and go to Telegraph for kid fun.

Marina Fading from fomer status, 2010-09-08
Captain: , Anacortes, WA (177)

Very poor condition of some docks. Bar / Pub is the only real attraction. No land facilities for kids or family.

Protected Location, 2009-09-01
Captain: , Olympia, WA (61)

This was the second year in a row that we stop for a night here on Thetis. Good dock staff and easy entrance into a side tie just past the fuel dock. Plenty of room even for our 50' needs. Call ed day of arrival both times. Once in Aug. and once in Sept. Both times no problem fitting us in. Free WiFi. Good food and beer at the pub. Showers and restrooms need an ungrade. Good side trip in dingy or kayak down to the other marine and out the cut to the other side of the island. Super quite evenings in a calm harbor. Good spot after a long crossing from Howe Sound

Nice marina with good access, 2009-08-25
Captain: , Cowiche, WA (350)

Nice place to hang out for a few days. Good places to walk or catch the ferry to Chenainus, good food at the pub and very helpful staff. We planned to stay one day and ended up staying 3. Nice moorage and protected harbor.

Not recommended, 2007-08-16
Captain: , mercer island (74)

Had a reservation for a slip at this marina - instead of directing me to the assigned slip the "staff" mis directed me to the fuel dock and then seemed confused about which slip I was assgned - necessitating a series of maneuvers in the constricted area. Staff was IMHO very incompetent.

Restaurant was not appealing - and the advertised "free internet access" was not working.

I will not return to this marina.

Nice place to have dinner and a brew. Owner sometimes has an attitude though. Because of this we no longer stop here.
