Reviews for The Wharf Marina
Outstanding marina, 2017-05-04
Captain: , Litte Rock (253)

We kept our boat at The Wharf for almost six months (November 2016 thru April 2017), so this review looks at the long term. The marina is exceptionally well managed, well staffed, and well maintained. The marina sits pretty much under the bridge for the Foley Beach Expressway. There are two basins. The west basin is closest to the fuel dock, but farthest from the office, laundry, restrooms/showers, shopping, restaurants, and movie theater. We weren't sure we would like being in the east basin, out of concern for being closer to foot traffic from the tourists, but our fears turned out to be unfounded. Most of the tourists, shoppers, etc. like to look at the yachts from the walkway above the marina ramps down to the docks. There are two broker docks (Galati and Marine Group), so you will see foot traffic during the day. Security puts up a chain across the ramps to the docks at night, and while it's easy enough to unlatch the chain and enter, we didn't see non-owners down on the docks at night. Security personnel were conspicuous, which no doubt helped to dissuade folks who had no business on the docks after hours. Note that our boat was at The Wharf out of season, so we cannot speak to how much traffic there is in the popular summer months.
The Wharf offers discounts on dockage and fuel to AGLCA members.
The boater's lounge (needs code to enter) and marina office are on the ground floor of the multi-story condominium building. The laundry has three washers and three dryers, rather expensive at $1.75 per load, but the laundry room and the machines are kept very clean. You can get change in the marina office. Ditto on cleanliness for the restrooms and showers.
The marina does not permit live-aboards, and we were back and forth a lot from our home 8 hours away, but after seeing how well they cared for the boats, we didn't worry when away. When storms came through, they checked every boat's lines and made sure they were secure. Judy even coils the ends of your lines at the cleats.
Most boats are stern in, with pilings on one side and a 30-foot (estimate) finger pier on the other. If you bow in, allow for that.
There are two paved parking lots (coded entry here too), one by each basin. If you have (or are renting) a car, this is a big plus, as special events at The Wharf, including concerts at its amphitheater (Luke Bryan played while we were there) and the boat show in March, draw a lot of visitors.
Good area to walk for exercise; poop bags provided on grassy areas for your pups.

Overpriced, 2017-02-17
Captain: , USA,USA (81)

You have to be a Millionaire to keep a boat here! They do or did have a free dock you could tie up to to do some shopping at The Wharf Stores. Nice place if you have the $money!

Captain: , Milton, GA (322)

Great stop - awesome shopping and multiple fantastic restaurants. Fair pricing for the amenities. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

A great marina., 2017-01-26
Captain: , Winthrop Harbor (130)

Many of the docks are set up as a stern dock but the price was great at $1 a foot and the amenities were first class. There was plenty to do and places to eat at the Wharf. I would definitely plan on stopping there the next time through.

Absolutely Wonderful, 2017-01-14
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (415)

What a wonderful place! We were met at our assigned slip by two dock hands that helped us get tied up which was a great treat. The adjoining shopping mall has many resturants, mini golf, and even a ferris wheel.

Slips are well protected from the adjacent waterway.

One of the best, 2016-11-10
Captain: , Louisiana (554)

Will stay here for 5 months of the winter, initially because of the super discount for AGLCA Loopers. I could see that the quality of docks & facilities was all top-notch, but as I got the know the personnel - from the dockhands to the office staff - I became more impressed & glad that I decided to stay for several months.
As an example, this is one of the few marinas when you open the lid on the dock power pedestal to plug in shore power, you don't have to chase away all the spiders & their webs. In fact, Beverly has the dockhands periodically clean & WAX the dock boxes and pedestals!

5 star marina, 2016-11-03
Captain: , Austin, TX (877)

Very nice, great food at The Villager, very pretty shopping area. Must stop. Loopers $1.00 ft.

Update 2016
Better than it was last time and last time was great!
The staff are friendly. The floating docks are easy to tie to. The new office and bath house area are top notch.
We will be back.

Very Clean Friendly staff, lots to do around the dock.
Good food at Schuckers and other fine restaurants within walking distance.
Water Park with Lazy River, Wave pool, Rave Movie theatre, ferris wheel and more.
The new dockmaster, Taylor, is great! Beverly, the marina manager is always attentive to our needs.
The only downside to this marina is the bath facilities lack showers and laundry.
We're staying a couple months this summer, weather permitting.

Pet Friendly Grounds, 2016-09-25
Captain: , Slidell, La. (1148)

Fantastic place to visit. Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Nice marina with many amenities nearby including shops and restaurants all pet friendly. Check in advance to see if there are any activities happening at the wharf as there is sometimes entertainment. Although this was a quick overnight stay for us, we will definetely be back.

We returned for a month stay and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Make sure you ask for Paige at Ginny Lane's Restaurant. Best waitress we found - friendly and great service! Not to mention good food. On this trip we also had the opportunity to use Bill Green with Gulf Shores Critter Care (251) 236-8935 to pet sit on our boat for our poodle - Sophie. He was fantastic! Reasonable pricing, easy to schedule and just a great guy overall. We highly recommend him if you need someone to pet sit. Even though we had a lot of rainy weekends, we enjoyed our time a the Wharf!

best marina yet, 2016-09-16
Captain: , pensacola (10)

I HIGHLY reccomend staying at this marina the office staff were so kind and helpful! Those dock hand definitley know what they're doing out there and are very respectful!! The Wharf includes many shops and many things for the kids too!

fuel dock, 2016-09-16
Captain: , Biloxi, Misssisssippi (10)

Called the office as soon as I started pulling up to get fuel and as soon as I got off the phone those boys were right there to meet me and help. Very fast and great service I'd say!

Fuel stop, 2016-08-08
Captain: , New Port Richey (310)

Came in for a quick fuel stop and no radio communication and no dock hand. Managed to get on fuel dock and had to hail on working channel and was advised that the office don't listen to the radio. Hmm $700 in gas and you don't listen. Wake up your a marina with services...

watch security, 2016-05-15
Captain: , mobile, al (171)

The docks do not have locking gates (or gates of any kind). Lots of bars and resturants in area. Non boating patrons with libations on dock as late as 10pm. Dock hands very helpful, office not so much.

Great place to stop, 2016-03-10
Captain: , La Crosse, WI (941)

Our little Ranger Tug was dwarfed by the yachts in this Marina. The staff treated us as if we arrived in a 100 ft yacht. Restrooms and showers were spotless. Floating docks make tie up easy. Great place to spend a night.

Simple and Easy, 2015-11-21
Captain: , Cincinnati (252)

Right on the ICW, well maintained floating concrete docks, someone waiting to catch your lines and only a $1 a foot. Works for me everytime. Wifi was a bit weak and it is unfortunate that a couple of good restaurants have left the development.

So close to 5 stars, 2015-11-18
Captain: , Iuka, MS (1130)

Everything was great about this marina (service, pricing, convenience, local amenities), but our floating dock in the west basin was dangerously wobbly as it was only attached at one end. Other finger piers at the same marina ran all the way out to the piles and appeared to be much more stable. The floating docks were also so low that boarding the boat was made more difficult.

Great spot, 2015-11-16
Captain: , Essex, CT (1675)

Everything about this place was top notch. The docks are terrific, the help was right at the docks ready to grab lines, even the check in was like signing in to a five star hotel! Showers and bathrooms were some of the nicest we've seen and you're located in the heart of a charming little shopping and restaurant hub. And the price was great as they have a very good discount for Loopers. Only wish we weren't rushing to catch the upcoming window for a Gulf crossing which prevented us from staying longer.

First Class, 2015-09-24
Captain: , Ruskin, FL (330)

One of the nicest, cleanest facilities I have ever seen. Pleasure just visiting the office. Staff was on the spot. Shower and bathrooms were excellent with code so we could use late at night or early morining before departure. Did not want to get out of shower. Surrounding complex is equally impressive. Bimini Bobs has really good conch fritters. A couple of upscale resturants as well. This is second visit in two years and If this way again, I will stop.

great place always something to do, 2015-08-22
Captain: , Port Arthur, Tx (516)

stopped here 2 times in past few weeks. the last stop was for beer fest on grounds food and beer sampling at it's best. only 1 complant we have 24' beam cat always on outside we expect it the issue is they seem to have run out of money with outside pedistal's do not have water. dock worker says they have never had it had to streach out several hosed to reach water

Newer and better, 2015-07-06
Captain: , Garcon Point, FL (91)

Arrived Friday the 3rd of July and was surprized to find the old marina office and bath house have been demolished to make room for a new Marriott hotel. Fuel dock is still there. The new marina office and bath house are now in the middle of the condo complex. What a nice improvement! Clean showers, washer/dryers. Really a much better place!. Marina staff was excellent. They deliver ICE right to your boat! Watching the 4th fireworks from the marina was a special treat. Just an overall excellent experience.

One of the better Marinas but there are a few issues...., 2015-04-28
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (390)

Review 04/28/2015
This is a very nice safe, calm stay along the intercoastal ditch between Mobile Bay and Wolf Bay. The slips are floating, new and are very well maintained. The staff is first rate and will work hard to make your stay a good one. This is one of the few marinas that actually help you dock your vessel. The newly opened shower/restrooms are first rate with 2 showers each for Men/Women.
Gym facilities - NO
Free Bikes
WIFI - (1-10) 6
Restaurants - Many
Groceries - NO
Shopping - Yes, Many Stores
Bars - Yes, Many. We enjoyed Hot Spots and Island Time better than the others. Less expensive and freindlier staff
Rates: $2.50 per foot. $3.00 during events.

WARNING: We were told no GAS grills can be used. Kinda of stupid since most boats use them.

Nice place to stop. Winter rates are awesome, summer OK, but concert rates are hight., 2015-04-19
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (1178)

Very nice marina with friendly staff. Winter rates are fantasic as typically $1/ft, but it doubles during the summer. If a concert is occuring, expect $3/ft with min 2 night charge, even if staying one night. Check in with them first before stopping in to make sure they have room and what their current rate is. Local shopping and restaurants are all over. Definitely worth a visit.

A Unique Marina That's A Must Stop, 2015-04-04
Captain: , Port Charlotte FL (221)

The Wharf is a unique marina that has a pleasing duality about it. Restaurants, bars and shops line the boardwalk. While dolphins, pelicans and all sorts of wildlife go about their daily routine in the adjoining waterway.

This is a "must-stop" marina every time we pass through here and it never disappoints. The facilities are first class and clean. The whole place has a family atmosphere and we feel very comfortable walking around even late at night.

I can't say enough good things about this place.

First Class Facility, 2015-01-18
Captain: , Maryland Heights, MO (314)

The Wharf is a first-rate marina with floating docks, immaculate shower and laundry facilites, and very reasonable rates. Our one-night stay after crossing a lumpy Mobile Bay was a pleasant respite. Several very good restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The only caution is there's not a close grocery if you need to resupply.

Top Notch , 2014-12-28
Captain: , Ft Myers Beach (74)

It may only have two showers but they are the nicest we've seen. Give them time, with the number of slips available, the excellent staff and the area I would guess they will have the ability to really add to the little things available.

The Wharf Marina, 2014-12-17
Captain: , Leamington, Ontario (710)

Floating docks, very friendly staff. Only two showers. Right on the GICW, easy in and out access. A little far to walk to grocery stores. Great rates per foot! Lots of shopping and restaurants close by, just not close to groceries. Awesome place to stay.

looper special, 2014-11-28
Captain: , Beaufort NC (500)

Love the looper rate $1.00' it's their slow season and a great place to stop. We came for 2 days and stayed a week. Enterprise has the weekend special and it's close enough to The Wharf to make it a win-win, a great way to go see the Pensacola Naval Aeronautical museum. ..a MUST see. The staff is helpful and friendly, a very well kept marina alaunchedght there where several good restaurants are and a movie theater. The only downside was the laundry, it was a hike over there and it was a hallway. Would we stop there again absolutely!

Wharf Marina us great, 2014-11-26
Captain: , Moses Lake , Wa (50)

With the loopers discount, you couldn't ask for a nicer place to be. Ended up staying 5 days due to weather. Beverly and staff made it hard to leave. Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy all that the Wharf has to offer.

The Very Best!, 2014-11-26
Captain: , Guntersville, AL (451)

We just traveled over 1,000 miles on the inland rivers and there is nothing that comes close to the friendliness and customer focus of The Wharf. I especially appreciate the outstanding hospitality of Beverly the Harbor Manager. The facility is clean and comfortable. The dock service is exceptionally professional.

Impressive, 2014-11-21
Captain: , Mobile, AL. (151)

Everything that was advertised was there. Great place to stop in and check out all they have to offer. We really enjoyed our stop. We had plenty of help tieing up and getting the electric hooked up. Great service.

Must stop at this location!, 2014-11-05
Captain: , Ludington (100)

We did the happy dance when we arrived at this marina and saw all the things available to shopping, movie theater, many good restaurants, all just a short walk from our slip. It is a great place to bike, and we especially enjoyed Hugh Branyon Backcountry Trail which provided many paths, one of which was the path that led to the spectacular Gulf beach in the Gulf State Park.

Everyone at the marina was helpful and friendly, and our hats go off to Beverly, who treated us like family.

This is a wonderful marina, and such a great beginning to our Intracoastal Waterway journey.

Great Place!, 2014-11-05
Captain: , Grand Haven MI (20)

Been here a week, great place and excellent staff! Fun shopping and restaurants right here. Very close to a beautiful bike path that goes right to the beach. (By bike the beach is only about 3 miles)
West Marine about 1 mile away.
Easy 3 mile dinghy ride to LuLus or Tacky Jacks. Bathrooms are very clean. The ONLY drawback is no courtesy car for groceries, but everything else is right here.

Hard to find a better spot, 2014-10-08
Captain: , New Iberia, LA (357)

Bev is nothing short of great to deal with. The marina is first class and has many offerings including a 10 screen movie, water park, condo's, shops and a good number of places to eat. Free day use docks. They treat transit boaters as family, fantastic place to stay a night, or a year.

This location only gets better as it goes.

Great marina, 2014-09-06
Captain: , New Orleans (20)

Stayed 4 days for the boat races late August. Heads/showers excellent. Friendly, helpful staff. Leonard who honchos operations a very competent, helpful, and marine knowledgable fellow. He runs a good crew, as well. Only shortfall are the narrow berths and the short finger piers. You will tie up stern first.

the Wharf Orange Beach, 2014-07-16
Captain: , Gulfport MS (20)

Great place a real resort area lots to do. Marina little tight narrow fairways, floating docks. 2.00 per foot transient rate. Diesel $4.50 gal

No charge for power for transit boats., 2014-05-07
Captain: , Miami (83)

We are sitting in slip 33 and the price for transit is $2.00 per foot, but no extramfor power as it states in the "Dockig" details. This is more like a resort than just a marina. Very nice place wit a great staff. AND, the smoked burgers at "Bimini Bob's" at the head of the dock are wonderful!

great overnight for us., 2014-03-02
Captain: , Halifax Harbor (109)

Very nice place to stop. We stayed the night, ate at local restaurants in walking distance. great facility and gas discounts for loopers.

Great day stop, 2014-01-29
Captain: , San Marcos, TX (865)

Stopped here for fuel and water 12/17/13. Easy access from ICW, staff helpful and friendly. Good ship store and clean restrooms. After topping off fuel ,water and pumping out we moved to a bulkhead and spent several hours exploring the huge outdoor mall that was a short walk away. Diesel was expensive (4.40/gal).

Great stop for a day, a week or a month, 2014-01-01
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (532)

Well managed and maintained. Floating docks, very friendly staff. No groceries close by. Still five star in easy walking distance to restaurants, movies, shopping, salons, music venues and bars. Only drawback is the lack of a courtesy car. One of our favorite marinas.

Well maintained facilities, 2013-12-27
Captain: , Chicago, IL (1056)

Arrived Thanksgiving Day and have decided to stay 1 month. Fuel, pump out, shower & laundry facilities located in West Basin; shops, restaurants & large condo development at the East Basin; dock carts available at both basins. Floating docks are in great shape. During off season marina is deserted during the week, but I imagine it really hops during the summer season and the narrow fairways could result in boat traffic congestion. I agree with the comment below that it is a bit touristy for the average looper, but this is a very peaceful this time of year. Beverly (manager) and the staff are very customer service oriented and they want to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Well worth a stop!

Great staff - nice modern well cared for facility, 2013-12-15
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1997)

The staff here are very helpful we have been here more than a month and probably for a few weeks more. Very clean marina, no shortage of restaurants and you are located right between Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.
Would definitetly stay here again but next time in the summer.

It's Fun!!, 2013-12-12
Captain: , MV Red Head (3106)

When was the last time you could walk from your boat to a movie theater and a Ferris wheel! We spent Thanksgiving week at The Wharf and had a great time. The facilities are terrific, the staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. But the best part is you are just steps away from numerous restaurants and bars, interesting little boutiques, a 15 theater cinema, and a Ferris wheel. Every night there's a light show in the plaza. It had a Christmas theme when we were there. There's nice wide sidewalks and green space for walking the dogs. We ate out at several of the restaurants and were never disappointed. This is a stop you should plan on lingering a while. Relax and treat yourself.

Nice stay with great amenities, 2013-09-20
Captain: , Corpus Christi (240)

Great place to stay. Very nice marina with helpful staff. Lots of places to eat right there. Might be a little to touristy for the average looper.

Great Marina, facilities and staff, 2013-04-21
Captain: , The Wharf Marina, Orange Beach, AL (11)

We have had our boat there for almost a year now. The marina and staff are great. There are a LOT of restaurants, shops, a movie theater and Ferris Wheel within the complex (walking distance).

Absolutely First Class, 2013-04-08
Captain: , Acworth, GA (225)

What a unique place with all the amenities far too numerous to mention in this review. Beverly Morgan runs a first class operation with many new and upgraded facilities. The Restaurant next to the Marina Office should be open in about a week after being vacant over the winter. Renovations include the Marina Office, restrooms, showers, laundry, the sea wall, parking lot, etc. The Wharf complex includes several restaurants, a movie theatre, a Ferris wheel, many specialty shops, and in December, it even had an ice rink! We had our boat here on the floating docks for about 4 months while we tended to business at home. This is a must stop for any boater!

Great Stay at the Wharf, 2013-03-30
Captain: , Fairhoe, Alabama (35)

We arrived late Thursday afternoon (03/28/13) at The Wharf on our Catalina 320 sailboat and docked in Slip 24. We had previouly arranged our visit so our check-in went very smothly. The four of us enjoyed our tour of The Wharf and checked out the retaurants. We ate an excellent meal at Ginny Lane and dicoverd we could use the lunch prices late into the afternoon. After spending a quiet nigh on board, we went to the fuel dock, loaded up and then took off. We are looking forward to another visit.

Great Marina, 2013-03-26
Captain: , Destin, Fl (55)

Great Marina! Much more lively than 2 years ago. A lot of renovations. Resturants are open. The staff was very freindly and helpful. Summer events look great, we will be back.

Great marina, service and shops, 2013-03-03
Captain: , houston, tx (403)

Great staff with pesronality. Very clean showers and clen and efficient new laundry equipment. Pump-out at fuel dock makes it very convenient. The fuel hoses and pump-out hoses all reach easily wihout jockying the boat.
The only thing this marina could use would be ladders in case someone fell off the docks. They are very well equipped otherwise, with fire extinguishers and throw ringe well located.

The Wharf has Showers, 2013-01-23
Captain: , Gulf Shores AL (90)

Showers and Laundry have been installed. The Marina bar and restaurant has closed but 2 additional Restaurants have opened in the complex. As everyone said, the staff is great

!!!!!WOW!!!!!, 2013-01-22
Captain: , fairhope, alabama (174)

What a great facility! Beverly and her staff made us feel welcome and were ready to fill our every need. We were there during some rather windy, cold weather and we felt snug and secure tied to their floating docks. New bath and laundry facilities were tip-top. We will be back.

Local area a plus, 2013-01-06

Stayed here May, 2012 for one day and night. At the time Shuckers Oyster bar was opened - sad to hear it's now closed. We've been coming through this area for several years and unfortunately sometimes there has been a restaurant open and sometimes not. They have pump out facilites, and fuel. The floating docks are wonderful. If you time it right you can catch a concert in the ampitheater next door, we just haven't been there on a night when there was a concert going on. There are lots of little shops very close to the marina. There's also a little grill in the condominimum complex and my memory serves me correctly a restaurant as well. They have a website. Will stay there again for sure.

Stayed A Week, 2012-11-27
Captain: , Athens, AL (641)

Very nice experience here. Obviously high-end property, they gave us an AGLCA discount to get the rate to $1/foot and another slight discount for one week ($40/night for a 44-ft boat). We got discounts at Sugar Shack and Compleat Angler, many others available, food was excellent. The only negatives are the tight docking fairways, the WIFI only worked part of the time, and did not particularly care for the side docks at the slip (attached only on one end which makes them a little squirley). Would definitely go back. If you call by phone or radio to get your slip assignment in advance, you might want to ask how far it is from the marina end which has the restrooms/showers/laundry. It's quite a hike from the distant end. Be aware there is an 11% lodging surcharge on all AL marinas.

Still a great spot, 2012-11-04
Captain: , Fairhope, AL (172)

As of the first week in November 2012 the "Shuckers" restaurant is closed. That leaves about 4 other eateries, but it is sad to see the abscense of an oyster bar. This is our second visit in which the wi-fi was unusable, but all in all a good place with great showers, dining, floating docks and even an art gallery.

Perfect spot, 2012-08-30

The marina and staff can't be beat. This is the place to stay. Bathrooms close, a choice of restrauants within easy walking, Publix only a short drive just won't do better wherever you go. Floating docks are the icing on the cake. Just ask for Beverly or Eddie, they will help no matter what.

Stayed here a couple of days while the grandsons enjoyed the water park and all the facilities. Great looper rate and lots of courtesies from Beverly , the manager.
Good docks and minimal wake. Super restaurant with oyster happy hour.
Came back through in August and learned the Looper rate of $1.00/ft. was intended for the season from Oct to Dec.
Still had a good stop and enjoyed water park and happy hours with adults this time.

Floating Docks wobbley, 2012-07-26
Captain: , Kemah, Texas (170)

Stayed the night here on the way back from Pensacola. Shops are nice. Floating docks are a little wobbley, especially the ones that are unsupported by a piling on the end.

We weren't doing the loop so didn't ask for a discount. Paid $2 a foot which seemed a little pricey.

Nice clean marina with floating docks. Even in the winter they are accomadating. No showers, just a restroom in the restaurant that boaters can use. $1.00/ft. this time of the year.

The Wharf Marina, 2011-11-27
Captain: , Mystic, CT (382)

Althoug it rained during our short stay, we can see that there are many different restaurants and bars to choose from, some with open air dining. There is a movie theater, and an oversize ferris wheel. There is good water pressure and free cable TV with a wide variety of stations to choose from. The Marina Staff are anxious to help and the restaurant, Shuckers, on the premises has good food. The only downside is there is no laundry or showers.

Great stop, 2011-11-04
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, FL (603)

Great facility undergoing some changes because of the foreclosure. New facility, great docks great amenities and shoping but no facilities (laundry or restrooms). New is a looper discount on dockage and fuel - ask for it. Beverly Morgan, marina manager, is great. Marina now run by the same company that does St Joe's and Panama City marinas. We stayed there twice during our 2011 river trip and the Wharf continues to be great. Don't moss dimmer at Ginny Lane!!!

The Wharf Marina - Fourth of July, 2011-07-27
Captain: , New Orleans (10)

My 17 y/o grandson and I took our motor yacht from New Orleans to The Wharf (8 hour trip at 20 knots). Excellent facility with very friendly staff. Good local restaurants, but to get to the beaches you need transportation (cab or rental car), which is somewhat hard to come by.
My grandson enjoyed the trip, handling the lines, navigating, etc., but he especially enjoyed parasailing at Gulf Shores beach, lazy river tubing at the Wharf, and flying in an open biplane.
Would definitely take the trip again.

Captain: , Hobe Sound, FL (20)

There are many different restaurants and bars to choose from with several offering open air dining, outdoor entertainment, etc. There is a real movie theater, an 11-acre Waterpark known as the Oasis complete with a winding lazy river, wave pool, hot tub, kiddie pool, tiki bar, hammocks and palm trees on sand island, volleyball, etc, etc. There is also a 10,000-seat outdoor Ampitheater that offers excellent concerts within walking distance of the marina. There is good clean power for boaters, good water pressure and free cable TV for the boaters. The docks are kept clean and quite nice. I highly recommend The Wharf Marina for any boater looking for an all-in-one stop that will entertain all ages from kids to late night fun.

Did I mention that the Marina Staff are FIRST CLASS???

Highly recommended, 2011-04-19
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (164)

We motorsailed from Pensacola to the Wharf Marina, intending to spend just one night. We ended up enjoying ourselves so much that we spent the whole next day just chillin in the marina, and elected to stay for an additional night. Excellent facilites, good access, more than adequate depth. Surprisingly little wake from the intercoastal - we had an excellent calm night onboard. A variety of restaurants to choose from, and apparantly as a paid marina guest, you also get access to the pool and lazy river facility for the condominium complex next door. If only they had showers! Supposed to be soon though.

Great Marina, 2011-04-13

We overnight here 6 to 8 times a year and have a great time. Good staff, great docks and plenty to do.

Good destination point, 2011-04-06
Captain: , Gulf Shores Alabama (748)

This place is top class and friendly as well as accomodating. I had anchored overnight at Ingram's Bayou (a great secluded anchorage about 3 miles East) and the next morning my engine would not crank due to mechanical problems. Since I was a sailboat I sailed West (ICW canal) to The Wharf Marina. When I radioed an approaching barge that I was standing off with limited control, I received an immediate call from The Wharf Marina asking if they could assist me with a tow into the marina. I ended up sailing into the marina and was received by several dock hands that helped me manuver into the slip. The Wharf was very helpful and let me keep the boat there until I could get a mechanic aboard to make the repairs. While that was being done my wife was happy to go shopping in all of the nice shops at the Wharf and we had a great lunch. That alone turned a bad-day into a fun experience. We have been back several times since then to just shop and eat. My observation was that although my 32' sailboat was tied up among million dollar high end yachts, we were treated great. This is a great destination point.

Great stay, many things to do, & friendly staff, 2010-12-23
Captain: , The Wharf Marina (72)

Received great service, newspaper delivered to the boat daily, discount on fuel because of being AGLCA member. Showers/laundry facilities are in the works, staff informed should be available in the spring. Will return, may even stay longterm at $10 per foot, can't beat it.

Very friendly staff, and very nice docks. There are no shore facilities for transient boates. Restroom at Shuckers restaurant. Otherwise not laundry or showers. Some very good entertainment and shops nearby.

Great marina, 2008-12-26
Captain: , Houma, LA (417)

We stayed here Oct & Nov 2008. Very nice docks and staff. The Wharf complex has many nice restaurants, shops and a movie theater. There is a water park for the kids during the summer. You will need trasportation to get to town. We found the local taxis reliable and cheap. Also Enterprise and Hertz will deliver to the marina. All in all a great marina.

The Wharf needs staff training., 2007-07-09
Captain: , Baton Rouge, LA (30)

Excellent physical facilities, but they aren't ready to serve you. We had to ask for someone to meet us at the slip when we arrived. The office/shop is a very long walk from most of the slips. The attendants have not been trained on how to deal with their customers. One attendant was, by his own personal interest, as helpful as he knew how to be, but the other seemed to have cared less whether we were there or not. There was not information available (except verbally when we asked) about where to eat or buy provisions. Hopefully they are just having new growth pains, but the owners need to train the staff on how to welcome their customers, and how to take care of them and to make them feel appreciated. It was disappointing.
