Good Location, 2016-08-07

Stayed 3 nights, easy access, courteous hotel staff, concierge will assist with almost all needs. Power ok, but better closer to the transformers. Ferry (free) continues to run every 30 minutes across the river to tourist activities. Some very impressive ships pass on a regular basis but were not an issue as to wake - more from the various tows that pass, generally ok. Much more private than across the river, in part due to security gate.

Very nice place, 2015-10-10

We were docked here for two days, and the service is very good, the area is beautiful, there is ferry for free every day that take you to the downtown, the city is very beautiful, it was very impress to see pass bay right in front of us a giant container ship down to the river. the only inconvenience is the ferry is very noisy and if you dock beside on its trial you wont sleep until 11pm, the time that they finish the service.

A great place to stop to visit Savannah, 2015-07-20

We had three days in May to visit Savannah. We're glad we chose the Westin Savannah Harbor marina (dock) to do so. It was on the expensive side, but... location, location, location! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The pool was great. The free water taxi across the river was wonderful. Savannah was a treat! I'd definitely recommend this. Strong current, but it wasn't an issue. Slight wakes from passing tankers which didn't bother us.

Wow - interesting place, 2015-05-16

What an interesting -- and different -- stop. First, this really isn't a marina; it is a Westin that has a dock. But, does that really matter?

The dock master, Jack, and his assistant, Merry, are both experienced boaters, knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and friendly. So, we start with excellent staffing. True, they can get busy, but there has always been someone available on the dock when needed.

The location is wonderful: a free water-taxi (ferry) ride across the river right into downtown Savannah.

There is no fuel, no pump-out, no coin-operated laundry, and showers are a long walk/golf cart ride to the clubhouse locker rooms. But, the Westin's facilities are first rate. The food is wonderful, the pool is beautiful, the ice is free, and every evening there are free s'mores around the firepit.

Yes, it rocks and rolls when a tug and/or tanker goes by. But it isn't too bad. We have been in marinas where the pounding has been horrific -- this is really nothing to complain about.

As for the docks, they are in good condition. We had no problems with them, and the electric is solid. Internet is free and is also solid.

All in all, we loved our stay here -- a marina that isn't a marina, but with great staff, excellent food, and great facilities. We really didn't miss the "other stuff" at all.

Thanks Jack and Merry for a wonderful stay.

Extreamly nice stop, 2014-03-14

Very nice stop. Hotel has heated pool and hot tub. Resturant inside. No dock hands to help tie up but all face dock. Quite expensive but endless hot water and lovely rooms. Much appreciated stop after a week or so on board.

Great resort stop, not a great marina stop - still a good choice for Savannah, 2013-04-09

We spent two nights April 7/8 2013. To reserve a slip here you must talk to the hotel concierge and provide all relevant info including charge card. These is no experienced dock staff to help with arrival but hotel "engineers" will appear if you can get through to the concierge desk. They have room currently for really only two vessels in the 40' range since the tall ship Roseway(130') is docked in the middle taking most of the slip. With the strong currents here the Roseway needs lots of additioinal room to enter/exit the dock. Roseway is wonderful to see and will be back here in the Fall of '13.

This is not a full service marina with no fuel or pump-out. Restrooms are available inside the hotel, but showers only with a long walk to the golf shop. The fee here is $3 per ft unless you take a hotel room which drops it to $2. The facing edge to the docks is getting in poor shape, so watch when you pull up. The dock itself is just fine. The pool at the hotel is wonderful and the resturarant in the hotel is good as well. The free water taxi every 30 minutes across the river to downtown is great.

As with any docking in Savannah be prepared to "rock" when the big boats go by and they will day and night. Overall we liked staying here better than the other options in town. Savannah is a great place to visit.

Excellent stop, 2013-03-13

This was an excellent choice for us. The dock was spacious and the staff was outstanding. The hotel has a few bars and restaurants as well as a pool and hot tub. The showers and workout space are at the golf facility a short distance away.

There is a free water taxi to and from downtown. We chose to stay off the strip because we do like to have the choice of being in the middle of things or not.

Yes, there is a bit of a current, but nothing to really worry about. The commerical traffic is significant and you will get waked occasionally, but overall nothing too bad.

We will be staying here on our next visit.
