Reviews for The Sailing Emporium
Horrible Experience, 2016-07-15
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (110)

tBeautiful outside is covering up horrible work and horrible service. Our boat was moved without our consent and damaged while we were out of town, and we weren't notified of move or damage. We found the damage when we returned. The work we paid for was done wrong or incomplete, through holes leaking, wrong parts, new generator dumped out oil . I could go on, we have to go to another marina to fix all these problems. We are not the only people who left very unhappy.

Everything A Marina Should Be, 2016-06-05
Captain: , Liverpool N.Y. (79)

Stayed here two nights waiting out the weather. Slips have new finger docks that required backing in. Facilities are top of the line with individual showers, laundry and pool. Tram to town was great providing transportation for provisioning and then returning later to take us to Waterman's Crab House for dinner and back. Staff was great and the owner stopped by on Sunday morning to make sure we were settled and to advise us of the severe weather headed our way. Everything a $2.00 marina should be.

Wonderful Marina, 2015-08-10
Captain: , Severna Park, MD (10)

We stumbled across this marina last month. We loved it so much, we ended up staying an extra night and returning again this weekend. The owners are so friendly and helpful, the grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the bathroom/shower facilities clean and accomodating. The slips are a nice size and the marina provides bikes for heading into town. In addition, there is an open air trolley available for pickup at the marina for a small fee. There is a nice lending library overlooking the inlet, free wifi, plenty of rocking chairs with great views of Rock Hall Harbor sunsets, laundry facilites, a nice pool, and a pet area. This place is a real gem!

July Cruise Stop Over, 2015-07-29
Captain: , Forked River New Jersey (70)

What a nice place to visit. Almost a town like setting. the pool was real nice and places to sit and enjoy the well kept planting and flowers everyware. the people were nice and very helpful. This is a place I would stay regular. I will remeber our time here. Very nice.

Nice marina, 2015-07-07
Captain: , Baltimore (40)

We stayed here on a Saturday night recently. We'd called ahead to reserve a slip, but found that everyone that works there was gone for the day at 4pm, so some nice boat owners directed us to an open slip. Bathrooms were very clean, and we took the trolley into town - it's a long walk away.

Convenient but rough, 2015-05-27
Captain: , Haiku, HI (251)

They have all the facilities but I guess we were too early in the season to take advantage of them. No help docking, otherwise good spot. Down side is the long run South to clear water if you are headed North. Might be better to go to Fairlee instead. But they have bikes, the town is nice, the management very pleasant. Oh, also the band across the water at the bar plays loud rock music until midnight.

Very Nice Feel and Atmosphere, 2014-08-14
Captain: , Middle River (130)

One of the nicest landscaped and maintained marinas on the Bay. Also, one of the best places to sit and watch the sun set over the bay. Not a new marina and no floating docks but well worth the visit.

Very Nice Marina, 2013-09-04
Captain: , Galesville, MD (1341)

We had a very good experience. We tied up at the bulkhead. A narrow fairway but we managed fine. Grounds are lovely, facilities very nice. Small marine parts section in the store. Borrowed bikes for an easy ride into town. Pleasant pool to cool off.

Our sailing club had a catered party on the lawn which worked out well.

The band at Watermans was loud, but created a festive atmosphere. They didn't play too late.

A Great Marina to visit for the 4th of July, 2013-07-06
Captain: , Severna Park, Maryland (35)

We love Rock Hall's 4th of July celebration and believe The Sailing Emporium is the best marina to visit to see the town%u2019s fireworks display. The marina has extensive landscaping that provides a resort feeling complete with an air-conditioned lending library where you can oversee the harbor or escape the summer%u2019s humidity in comfort. The Marina is located a mile from town, but just across from Waterman%u2019s Crab House %u2013 a favorite for lunch or dinner and they also accommodate those traveling with dogs. Public transportation is unique; they pick you up where you are when you need a ride, just call from your cell phone. The Sailing Emporium's slips are in good condition and provide both power and water and their marine technicians service is very good and reasonably priced.

Not a good experience, 2013-05-28
Captain: , Cutter Marina (10)

We and 6 other sailing vessels arrived on Sunday 26th May at around 4.00pm. We had reserved slips.

This was my second visit and once again, I was assigned a bulkhead slip that was impossible to get into due to another boat being tied up because they could not get into their slip. (Last time I visited another vessel had to be moved to allow us into our assigned slip!!) I informed the young chap who was in charge that it would be impossible to get into the slip and he found me an alternative.

There were no adult employees available. Anywhere. Just adolescents.

We checked in but were not provided the bathroom code, were not advised that there was free wi-fi, were not provided with the security code for the wi-fi (not surprising since we weren't told there even was wi-fi - buit this was my 2nd visit so I guess I wasn't told the forst time either) and were not informed that there were free bikes to ride.

They processed our credit card very efficiently.

Since we came with 6 other vessels, we had asked to reserve a charcol grill but were told that this would not be necessary. Upon arrival in the grilling area, there was some celebration going on and all the grills were in use. They kindly allowed us to share.

The noise from the bars across the harbor was awful - two bands at two different bars, competing to see who could be loudest.

It is a pretty location and bathrooms were clean with acceptable shower water pressure.

Beautiful, but can be noisy, 2013-04-09
Captain: , Worton Creek, MD (290)

A beautiful marina in a wonderful little Eastern Shore town. I stayed here in 2009 and enjoyed it, but beware of two things: 1) this place charges top dollar for everything, and 2) During the season, some of the restaurants have live music outside, and it can get very loud. For what people pay to stay at this place, I would not put up with that.

Not a great stop, 2012-10-22
Captain: , Longboat Key (110)

They sounded very nice on the phone and because we were getting in late we were offered the haul out slip. I was told there was water and power at the slip. When we arrived we had to put two hoses together to get to a distant water tap. There was no power outlet near by and when we eventually found a distant, the voltage was too high and we could not run our equipment. We tried to get help with a phone call and did not get a response. We would have been better off at anchor. The shuttle to town was very good. The marina was really neat and tidy but I would not recommend it.

Excellent Marina, 2012-10-18
Captain: , Michigan City (349)

Stayed 8/31/12. Well maintained marina with nice showers and restrooms, beautiful pool, laundry room, reading room, sunset deck, ships store, bicycle loaners, trolley service to town on request (driven by the Mayor), and beautifully landscaped grounds. As stated before, it is a ways from town, but it is an enjoyable trip on the trolley.

Rock Hall favorite, 2012-10-17
Captain: , Pasadena,Maryland (510)

Our favorite marina in Rock Hall-even for a power boat. Grounds landscaping are very nice. Staff is pleasant. Little far from town-will need a bike (too far to walk). some resturants will pick up.

Marina - Dockage, 2012-09-05
Captain: , Philadelphia (90)

One of the nicest and best maintained marinas in the area with a family who cares. Clean up to date bath houses, and free pump out at all times. Best for 4th of July Fireworks.

Power boaters love Sailing Emporium too!, 2012-02-09
Captain: , Baltimore (529)

We spent a weekend at the Sailing Emporium and found the marina, ships store, facilites are very nice. One of our group had a dink motor that didn't want to start, the office called a past employee who they knew could fix the problem and at 5:30pm on a Saturday night, he came and rebuild the carberator.

One of the best on the Bay, 2011-04-20
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (71)

Hug the docks in the vicinity of the Waterman's Crabhouse. There is no water over by the red daymark.

highly recommend, 2010-11-02
Captain: , Galena MD (171)

Very accomodating. 5 boats from Catalina Fleet 10 stayed onver the Labor Day weekend. Picnic in the grove, large enough to accomodate 2 groups easily. The pool was clean and attractively maintained as was the whole facility. Sitting on the dock and watching the sunset in the comfortable chairs is one of the highlights of staying here. We will now switch marina's when gong to Rock Hall--far to town but worth it for the ambiance.

What A Place!, 2010-08-18
Captain: , Sunset Harbor Marina (85)

Galloway Yacht Club took 12 boats to Sailing Emporium for Pirates and Wenches weekend. What a great time for all. The enitre staff couldn't have been more accommodating.
The facility is beautiful and perfectly maintained.
The pool was great and CLEAN!
They provided transport for us to Rock Hall for the festivities.
Everybody agreed that we would return.
Galloway's Fleet Captain id a great job, from a cocktail hour to s'mores in the evening!

Beautiful place, wonderful people, infrastrcuture could be better, 2010-06-03
Captain: , Sassafras River, MD (137)

Absolutely gorgeous facility. The family who owns and operated the marina are great people; very friendly and accomodating. The only knock on the marina is that some of the infrastrcuture, partiucarly the electric and water service is old. If you go as a transient, be sure to insist on proper power arrangements. Water pressure drops when too many people use it. But DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU! This is the nicest marina in Rock Hall by far.

Great marina, but make sure the shuttles are running, 2007-06-30
Captain: , Valentine Creek, MD (14)

We went in late September and found the shuttle busses were no longer running. This is a lovely marina, but it's a very long walk to the nearest shops / restaurants (though you could throw a stone across the creek and hit someone eating crabs). They do have bikes to borrow I believe.

Love Sailing Emporium!, 2007-02-28
Captain: , Washington, DC (13)

Drop dead grounds. love the swimming pool and BBQ area under large trees. Great sunset viewing. Shuttle buses into quaint town or take their bikes! The best shower/bathrooms I have ever seens in a Marina. Clean and air conditioned. Great staff. Could go on and on.
