The great neck bridge has two sections. The chart and info from the marina says the direct approach has 20 feet clearance, but it reported to be 26 feet. Going around the island to avoid this section is almost an hour.

The main marked channel after entering the inlet under the Lesner Bridge is much shallower than taking a sharp turn to port and following the route along side the bars and pilot boats to the north.

Reviews for The Marina at Marina Shores, Ltd.
Nice week at Marina Shores, 2016-07-05
Captain: , Solomons MD (26)

I had a very nice week as a transiet at Marina Shores. Everyone was very friendly. The facility was good and Surfrider makes good food and drinks.

The only note I would make is that the bridge clearance was listed as 20ft, so I added an unnecessary hour to my trip going around the island and coming in the back way. Once I got tied up, I saw large sportfisherman comng through the bridge. The clearance is actually 26 ft.

This was our second stay. Pool is clean and not crowded especially in the am. Bathrooms are clean in the am but get heavy use in the afternoon so look a little sloppy and wet floors.(Mens room). Woman's restroom, according to my wife, is clean and tidy
Surf Rider restaurant is right here and has good food and is popular with locals so you might have to wait for seating, however the wait is worth it and it goes very quick especially when havng happy hour on the boat,

Good Weekend, 2012-06-16
Captain: , North Fort Myers, FL. (268)

We stayed a weekend here. The staff was friendly and helpful and plenty of eats within walking distance. The marina itself is first class but no pool.

Great marina, 2011-09-16
Captain: , Daytona Beach, FL (100)

The Marina at Marina Shores was our home from April 2011 to Oct 2011. The place is very busy. Two restaurants/bars are very convenient and popular. Several shops and beach are very close. There is State Park around the corner (First Landing) and it is a great place for early morning walks. If you want to go to town or ocean front there is also a bus that can take you to the mall or with the change of the bus, you can visit busy ocean front. Don't attempt using the bus on Sunday, does not run. Or Holidays! Marina has a pool, laundry room (2 washer and 2 dryers, coin operated). The only thing with this marina is the lane and slip size. We have 45ft, 16ft beam wide boat and we barely fit in the slip. The lanes are around 45 ft long and it was a real challenge to dock Grace, especially with one engine. Another thing to consider is the current. It could run up to 6 knots. And you cannot come in if you have a sail boat. Several bridges! But overall we had a great time, community is great and helpful. If you are not experienced boater, that is all right. Everybody is ready to jump in and help you%uF04A.

Marina @ Marina Shores, Ltd. (Reasonable rates.), 2011-02-28
Captain: , Gloucester, VA (514)

Last visited this facility mid summer '10. As with most marinas in this area a call ahead is a must or you risk not finding a slip due to a good number of transients moving through during the summer. Also, there are a number of restaurants in the general vicinity and although they are convenient, several are open air types and the noise can keep you up if you like to turn in early.
