Reviews for The Marina at Atlantis
Great stay, 2016-07-12
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (250)

Very helpful and friendly staff, and nice facilities that mainly caters to the mega yachts. We had 5 kids on board, so it was worth the premium slip price since we all had included access to the water parks. Dock hands are quick to reply to any request, including taking you to the main resort via golf cart- just bring plenty of tip money.

Expensive but very nice, clean, convenient., 2016-01-08
Captain: , White Bay, BVI (131)

Back for the 4th time in Atlantis Marina for a week stay.
Couldn%u2019t access to the Internet from my slip (important for my businesses) but Louis, the Dockmaster, found a solution to the problem. Definitely very professional.
Expensive marina, but worth it with the access to all the amenities.
Also very well protected when hurricane joaquin was near by.
Will come back.

I spent nearly 4 months in Nassau (mostly at Bay Street Marina) and every month went for 3 or 4 days at Atlantis Marina. It is definitely a tourist destination, but the aquarium, water park, pool, etc. are worth it. Unlike Nassau, Paradise Island is clean, cars won't run you over, the beach is cleaned every evening, etc.

Next is Stanlei Cay in the Exumas

Very nice, very expensive, 2015-12-20
Captain: , Huntsville, AL (335)

We stayed for 3 nights with guests onboard so we could have full access to Atlantis for everyone on board. Very nice marina on a property that is designed for tourism. Everything about this place is very expensive. It was worth it for us with guests and we had a blast. Went through the aquariums, played at the water park, laid on the beach, gambled a little, toured the property multiple times, and had some good food. It's worth doing for at least one or two nights if you can fit it in the budget. Dockage includes all the same amenities you would have if staying at the hotel. Staff very nice and helpful.

Excellent Stop, 2015-08-29
Captain: , ocean ridge (119)

Great place. They allow you to stay in major storms, great protection, value for the location....great selection close to all...

discontinued dinghy access, 2015-07-19
Captain: , san diego (70)

You can no longer dinghy in and visit the resort. You must be staying at the resort or pay dock fees. 40' minimum.

Fantastic!!! Marina and Property, 2015-05-12
Captain: , Marco Island, FL (1135)

Still wonderful. The staff remembers you and welcomes you back!
While it is expensive, we still love it here. You have full access to everything at the Atlantis! Worth it!!!

We have come back and once again, it's just wonderful here. The marina staff is fantastic. The resort just can't be beat...there is something here for everyone.

This place is wonderful. They dockhands are great and if you don't want to walk up to the hotel, they will send a golf cart for you. It's expensive but worth it - included with the slip is full access to the Atlantis! If NOT staying at the marina, the cost to use the Atlantis is $125 per person per day! The marina office is also great with a great pool table!

Great with kids, 2015-05-09
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (50)

We like this marina as one of our starting points of our Bahamas Cruises. We have two kids 10 and 12. They love to go to the Atlantis water park for 2-3 days to get rid of some energy before heading south to calmer places in the Exumas. Dockage is no problem, we always got a nice slip when my wife asked for it :) I was waiting outside... :) The pool at the Harborside Villas is really nice to hang out at during the day while the kids enjoy the Water Park. Service is sooo friendly there and the drinks are good.
Great for 2-3 days if in Nassau.

Never disappointed., 2015-05-08
Captain: , Coconut Grove, Florida (31)

So much value for the money. Why pay $3 a foot + $40 per day for power on New Providence when you can pay $4 a foot with so many amenities. The waterpark, the free movies daily, the access to all the restaurants and watch daily feedings of the sea life. Up to 10 guests aboard your boat have access to the water park free.

We also had an issue with the dock hand tying us up a little awkwardly. However, one must be in control of the linehandling regardless of what dock help may say.

We don't mind the long walk, since the dockage is priced higher the closer you get in to the action. Up to $7 per foot where the mega yachts stay.

Staff is friendly, helpful and treated us like royalty.

Why not, you only live once!

Nice but disappointed, 2015-05-02
Captain: , Yorktown, VA (952)

We enjoyed our stay; the docks are okay but the non-mega yachts are placed almost in the Nassau Harbor. The staff is not friendly and condescending. We kept requesting our slip assignment and were told to hold after we were already in the basin. We had to turn around to go back out to find our slip and were told we would be going bow in, starboard tie. When we arrived at the slip the dock hand was there and it would have been port tie. The slip on the other side of the finger was open and he would not let us tie there so we decided to go stern in since we were already set up. The dockhand would not listen to our system of handling the lines, tied us up contrary to our wishes, and threw our stern out into the boat next to us. We did some damage and will be paying the bill when we both return to the states. He then lectured us about line handling and tying up the boat. Granted we are always willing to learn new things but this is our first issue with securing the boat at a dock.
They are very good about getting a golf cart to the boat when requested and returning to the boat. It is a good value since all 5 of us on board received daily passes to the water parks. We had fun but disappointed about the cleanliness, the upkeep, and the fact they sell day passes to the cruise ships. All the thousands of chairs were always occupied with towels but not people and they all left around 4 pm indicating they were returning to the ship.

Stay even if for just one night!, 2015-01-22
Captain: , Barrington, NH (283)

Absolutely loved Atlantis. Easy in to the $4.00 slip right at the beginning of the channel. Even though it's far to walk, they have a complimentary golf cart service to ferry you back and forth. If you want wi-fi, there's a fee of $24 for 24 hours. Free entrance into the Aquaventure Park and access to the hotel, grounds, aquarium, shops, etc. Well worth the slip fee!

Disney Land in the Bahamas, 2014-12-10
Captain: , Visalia, CA (350)

Atlantis is the primo marina in the Bahmas. It has fine resturants, entertainment, water park and a casino. It is also expensive. The Staff are very helpful and pleasant. If you can you stop here for about 3 or 4 days. Grocery store is a cab ride but a liquor store is a walk and there is a little market with eggs and milk next to it.

Excellent all around, 2014-12-02
Captain: , Seattle (120)

After bouncing in the Nassau harbour a few days during strong easterlies we decided to treat ourselves to some protection and ameneties. While the price per foot may seem high, having full access to the resort makes it worthwhile. The staff are very nice and helpful. A full detailed bill at the end had no surprises. We left refreshed but ready for the quiet island life.

Expensive but great, 2014-04-05
Captain: , Ft Myers, Florida (1663)

Great water park and beach. Marina is for Mega Yachts. Some $4/night slips, some $4.50 and some $7/ft. Water .25/gal. Electric .50/kW as I recall. Wifi is worthless, at $21.95/day, totally worthless in slip 20. Free access everyday to all attractions except the Cove included in slip rental which makes the cost a bargain for 4 people and a 41 footer! The aquarium requires a pass and should not be missed

It all depends on what you expect, 2014-01-08
Captain: , Fort Myers, FL (979)

Undeniably expensive, is it worth it? It was for us. We had a great time and were very impressed by the professional harbor staff and the level of the amenities.

We took our adult kids for three days just after New Years for a treat. The whole boatload of pasengers get wrist bands for the resort which is vastly cheaper than actuallys ting in their hotel or buying day passes as visitors.

Getting in was the hard part. We were stood off for two hours by their dock master because the slip we were to take was still occupied and they were in the midst of some dispute with the master of that vessel. Very unpleasant current, cross wind, and vessel traffic while hovering. We had called them the night before to confirm the reservationa nd inquire about arriving early - we were told "sure, fine, come in as early as you want". Not so. The place was jammin' and there was no room at the inn. They did eventually get us in to a temporary dock at the superyacht area and upgraded us to a very nice and snugly protected slip in the mid-range area when I pushed on them about being forced to orbit out in Nassau Harbor for two hours due to their poor planning and communication.

Once tied up, the kids took off for the watter aprka nd aquariums. These are as reported. The best aquarium is probably in The Dig. We found the number of small children in the main waterpark at this holidays time a bit overwhelming so we retreated to the "BLU Pool" and very much enjoyed it.

Restaurants are pricey but generally pretty good. The best food we had was at the harborside pizzaria but Olives was really nice high end dining.

To put Atlantis in context though, we highly recommend the food tour of Nassau from .

The basin itself is very well protected and quite the parade of superyachts. Our 42' cat was the smallest boat in there by a factor of two. The level of service is up to those boats' standards - numerous line-handlers on-call, great resources in the crew(cruisers) lounge, golf-cart rides to and from the resort entrance, ice delivered to your boat, all by just asking. We rode out a nasty cold front while there and were very glad to have the upgraded slip. Slips 1-10 are along the entrance channel and can be more exposed especially to anything with a southerly component. The dock master himself did our pumpout (no-discharge is required within the basin for obvious reasons so they have the only pumpouts available in the Nassau area).

We left there satisfied but ready to move on.

Great way to visit Aquaventure if you have a family, 2013-12-31
Captain: , Tracys Landing, Maryland (350)

Yes the marina fee is high, but if you have more than two people in your family and want to visit the water park, this is the way to do it! Marina basin is full of mega yachts and is a site to see, especially at night. We thorougly enjoyed our visit.

Was there 7/31/12, 2013-01-14
Captain: , Florida Keys (734)

After 3 months in the Bahamas, and only a couple of nights at marinas, we splurged and came here! I will definitely go there again when I have friends meeting me in Nassau. The marina grants their guests admission to the aquarium/waterpark facilities.
Can't say enough good things about the aquarium and waterpark. The staff at the marina was great. There are lots of nearby restaurants on site.

Need a few days, 2012-05-31
Captain: , Sarasota, FL (121)

Second visit to Atlantis and still finding parts of the resort that were new to me. Lots of geat eating, drinking and lounging options, but bring comfortable walking shoes. It is about a mile walk from the slips along the canal to the work-out room and less crowded pools. It is expensive, but being there in a boat is still the most economical way that I know to be here. Staff is great, there to help any time you call on the vhf. Have at dock pump out facilities with one of the most effective pumps I have ever seen. Other than the tip to the dock hand, was no charge on the bill so guess the pump out is part of the slip fee.

Atlantis 2012, 2012-03-15
Captain: , Austin Texas (120)

Nice marina that is full of very large yachts and lots of stuff to do. Floating docks would be nice since depending on the boat getting on or off the boat can be an exercise. Staff very nice and helpful.

Atlantis is Awesome!, 2012-01-19
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (334)

Teh facilities are bar none. Obviously the place is expensive, but in my opinion worth it. We have been here twice and are planning another trip summer of 2012.

Be sure to get explicit instructions from the Dock Master before entering. One time a boat in front of us entered without permission and was rejected and sent to the back of the line.

A nice place to visit., 2011-05-06
Captain: , Key Largo (77)

Marina has plenty of amenities. Casino, aquarium, water park. Staff was pleasent. Marina itself was not all that impressive. No floating docks, you are charged big time for water and electric usuage (which is understandable) Only negative about this place I would say is watch out for the local hustlers. They won't stop hasseling you until you let them wash or wax your boat. Overall a great facility. If you are touring the Bahamas I would recommend this place.

Great for Grandkids!, 2011-05-03
Captain: , Annapolis (1465)

Stayed in the $4.00/ft docks and had a wonderful time. The entire staff and dockhands were great. Golf cart service from your boat to Atlantis. All five us received wrist band to Atlantis as part of the slip fee.

Although Atlantis make look tacky and glitzy at first, it is a first class resort with the friendliest staff ever.

Waterpark and tourist hell, 2011-04-22
Captain: , Toronto (203)

If you are in Nassau and want to go to the waterpark, it is cheaper to move your boat here than to get 3 day passes to the waterpark.

Be Carefull! Land sharks at work., 2011-04-12
Captain: , Toronto (124)

Nice Marina, although for the price I would have expected floating docks. Lots to do. After we moored we found a large yacht had run an extension to our power pillar which had only one meter. I complained to the office and was assured that my charges would be between $6 and $7 max per day which was fine for our 10 - 12kw per day. AFTER we left, we found that that we had been billed almost $200 for 5 days of power usage. Apparently, they just halved the power usage between ourselves and the mega. Protest just led to a runaround.

You have been warned. Get every agreement with this operation in writing.

It is a hoot, 2011-02-28
Captain: , Delray Beach, FL (40)

Been here twice so far this season. Staff is friendly, courteous and could not be more helpful. We like a mixture of crazy places and serene. After Big Major's Spot a dose of Disneyland is great. Tons of things to do, excellent people watching. Great place to have people fly into and stay for a day before you leave for the real Bahamas.

Expensive but worth it, 2011-02-02
Captain: , San Pedro, CA (290)

One of the niceset marinas. On the expensive side, but great to be able to walk to the casino and restaurants.

Much better than expected, 2011-01-17
Captain: , Havre de Grace, MD (299)

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to come in at 8:30 AM to our slip so the kids could enjoy the waterparks for a full day. Access to the waterparks and aquarium included in dockage.

Many of the pilings look to be eroded by the tides between 20 and 40 % of their diameter.

We found the fixed docks to be somewhat of a challenge to negotiate at low tide even with our 45ft cruising sailboat.

Heads/showers at dockmaster's office, which has hours from 7AM to 9PM, so you have to use those facilities in that time frame.

Check-out time is noon. At 1PM, they charge you for a half-day, and at 3PM you are charged for a full day.

Gotta try ONLY once, 2010-06-12
Captain: , Treasure Island, FL (330)

Excellent facilities. The type of place to be seen - not a real boater's place. Staff is horrible - unfriendly, cold, borderline rude. That being said, there were a couple of friendly exceptions. The resort is beautiful! Go once for the experience.

Atlantis Marina, 2010-01-19
Captain: , Sarasota, Ft. Lauderdale (643)

First class all the way. And you pay dearly for that. :-)

Lots to do and see. Great people and boat watching.

But it's not the real Bahamas. It's only for people who want lots of thinks to do and lots of people around. And they want it to be a lot like the US.

Great if you're looking for a marine version of Disney, 2010-01-07
Captain: , Miami, fl (3544)

the kind of place you have to try at least once.... Zero privacy with hords of tourists walking by, expensive dockage but the Atlantis Aquarium alone is worth the stop. Great destination if you like Disney styled mega resorts, otherwise try it once and then skip Nassau altogether unless you really have to stop there.

First rate Marina, 2009-12-26
Captain: , Dallas, TX (726)

Stayed overnight enroute to Harbor Island, $4.00/ft on the dock that lines the approach to the yacht harbor. I suppose because we were only on a 53'boat. Water was metered and $0.25 per gallon. Besides that the marina was very nice. A friend was visiting at the time on a 205' and was tied up near the casino at $7.00/ft.
