Reviews for The Harborage Marina at Bayboro
Great marina, very boater friendly, 2017-04-21
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (35)

We put our 34' Swift Trawler her on April 1 and have so far been very happy! Sean and his staff have been very attentive and accomodating, the marina is quiet in the evenings, walking distance to down town, and the cleanest pool we've ever seen.

Limited options, nice docks, 2017-04-16
Captain: , Baltimore (529)

The marina is pricey. The docks are floating which is a treat. Pump-out is outside the marina and on a short pier.
The location is a long walk into town. Wifi is not useable. We were told the "Premium" wifi account would be faster but we opted not to pay the added fee.
There is a "Sea Wall" to knock down the waves, but East winds drives some waves into the marina.
We would have prefered to be at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina but their wait is over 2 yrs for our size boat.

Good Place to Stay, 2017-03-31
Captain: , Ruskin, FL (330)

Dropped in for one night. Make a reservation. Very helpful staff that met us at the slip. Very clean facilities. Swimming pool on site. Uber into downtown is $5.00 or a pleasant walk. Very well protected from high winds and wave action.

Nice but not enough, 2017-03-29
Captain: , Winthrop Harbor (130)

The marina was clean, the docks were good and the staff helpful. However cable did not exist and the wifi was a poor joke. The pool was nice. I will check out the other marinas before coming back.

Misleading, 2017-03-22
Captain: , Florida (17)

Advertised price is $2.15/ft but actually is $2.60/ft. Bait and switch! Not worth $2.15 for what you get and area of town.

Great access to St. Petersberg, 2017-03-03
Captain: , Grass Valley, CA (310)

Spent two night here, enjoyed the swimming pool. Great access for our boat and was very quite. Just across from the univeristy and a great view of the park along the shoreline.

Easy walk to town and museums and shops.

Nice marina and friendly staff, 2017-01-16
Captain: , Indian Rocks Beach, FL (10)

The staff is really friendly and helpful, putting four vessels together in the mega-yacht basin, and helping us get tied off and set up. Location is in really nice area, and if you don't mind a little walk, you can quickly be to some nice eating and drinking establishments. Facilities were very clean and well-maintained. OK, soap in the shower would be a nice plus, but other than that, great stay, and Thunderstruck will be back!

Great Stop for a day or month, 2017-01-09
Captain: , Falmouth, MA (30)

We just spent three great nights here. Great staff led by Shawn the Dock Master. We are 140ft and had plenty of water. Great new cement floating docks. To my suprise, excellent power. We are 100anmp 3 phase 208 and the dock power held during our entire stay. We would definitely come back. In fact we look forward to it.

Great marina to visit St Pete, 2017-01-06
Captain: , Port Charlotte, FL (684)

Stayed 2 nights for "First Friday" and farmers market on 4-5 Nov 2016. We had 6 club boats here. Very nice facilities, convenient to downtown (about 3/4 mi walk). They put on a "West Indies food fest" while we were there, just a really great time. Best part was the staff, the Dockmaster Shawn was very accommodating and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. We will definitely return.

OK stop - Overpriced, 2017-01-06
Captain: , Portage Lakes, OH (183)

Stayed here 3 nights on our trip. Bathrooms were clean - 2 stalls - 2 showers in the Men's. Captains Lounge that used to be an office of some sorts - Had multiple washer and dryers, but multiple that were Out of Order, so we had a line for laundry. About a 15 - 20 minute walk to downtown to shops, restaurants, and movie theater. Great people at this marina, and in the office. They are making some changes, and updating the Wi-Fi system, which is currently unsatisfactory, and looking to install solar heating for the onsite pool. At $2.15/ft plus an additional $10 per night for electricity, it is a little overpriced for what was offered.

Excellent Marina and Staff!, 2016-11-06
Captain: , St. Petersburg (10)

The employees here are incredible, the marina has a lot to offer with a great location and there are floating docks. I recommend staying here for both transients or liveaboards.

Great Stop on our Cruise, 2016-10-17
Captain: , Seabrook, TX (20)

The Harborage Marina is a great place. Shawn Dudley and his team could not be more hospitable. The marnia is in great shape and they worked hard to ensure we were taken care of while there for 5 months this year. Pool, laundry facility, clean restrooms and shows, pump out station, fuel, Captain's Lounge with fresh coffee and donuts in the mornings, floating docks, $4.00 uber ride to the heart of downtown. Not sure you could ask for more.

Great Amenities and even better people!, 2016-08-22
Captain: , St. Pete (10)

I cannot say enough great things about The Harborage Marina or it's staff. The amenities are second to none, the marina is beautiful and safe! Those reasons alone would be good enough to call The Harborage home, but the amazing staff takes this marina to the next level. In this day and age it is hard to find a business who puts the customers first and isnt only focused on the "bottom line." The amazing staff will bend over backwards and will do their very best to try to meet the needs of the customer, and it is so refreshing to see that they treat customers as people. On top of all that, they are very friendly and knowledgeable! I am loking forward to calling The Harborage my home! You will be very happy here!!

Captain Chris V - Flicka20 - Wookie, 2016-05-10
Captain: , BELLEVUE (10)

Great, clean marina, excellent floating docks and a staff that will bend over backwards to assist (seriously a terrific team). The marina is close to the city with its many superb restaurants, parks and museums. There is also Fishtales and Chataways close by that are more casual and give you that Key West feel. This is a marina that one might consider visiting but don't be surprised if you find that you do not want to leave.

Beautiful Marina, Friendly Staff, and still getting better, 2016-04-24
Captain: , Corpus Christi (40)

This is a great marina with a friendly staff. We got stuck here for almost a week working on our fuel system in our 90' Skipperliner. The towing service reccommended it and I'm glad they did. The staff knows all the top quality contractors in the area and we're again underway with a perfectly functioning fuel system. New docks, improving facilities, and the laundry is only $1/load. Next time I'm cruising by, we're coming here.

Harborage Review, 2016-03-23
Captain: , St Petersburg, FL (10)

I am leaving the Harborage after many many years.. The Harborage is a great marina with an excellent staff. They have always responded quickly to any problems and have provided good service. The docks are great and the restrooms always clean. I am leaving only because I now have dockage at my home. I recommend the Harborage to anyone looking for a slip.

We love being here!, 2015-11-22
Captain: , St Petersburg, Florida (20)

We have kept Azzurra our Tayana 55 here for almost a year and a half. The staff is great and the other boaters very friendly. It's a great community and very close to downtown St Pete. We love the floating concrete docks and now the free WiFi is pretty good.

Great Service, 2015-09-11
Captain: , st petersburg,fl (20)

i have stayed with this marina only 2 times but both times it was on short notice .they bent over backwards to accommodate me as i am stationed overseas and give them a short notice. Great bunch of guys!

Great Liveaboard Marina, 2015-09-03
Captain: , Oriental,NC (588)

Know a friend who keeps his sailboat here and have visited many times. Excellent protected floating docks at an acceptable rate.

Very convienent, 2015-08-13
Captain: , St Petersburg, FL (96)

We have only been here 2 1/2 months. The boat was in the marina when we bought her. Very clean facilities, friendly owners and other boaters, convienent to downtown St Pete and 10 minutes away from anything you could need.

You will enjoy this place!, 2015-07-29
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (20)

This marina makes you feel right at home. The people who work there are great and helpful. Clean facility and boaters are fun to be around.

Excelent Marina, 2015-06-18
Captain: , Cocoa Beach (287)

We stayed 6 weeks here and really enjoyed the St Pete area. Lots to do in the area for entertainment. The Marina is secure even in stormy conditions. Brian and his staff are fantastic and extemely knowlegable about local boat supply and repair facilities. We will return

Great Marina on Tampa Bay, 2015-06-04
Captain: , Charleston, SC (72)

Had the boat here the last three months, and could not be happier. Shawn, Cindy and Brian went way out of their way to help us with a myriad of things while we were there. Proximity to downtown, with its nightlife and shopping/restaurant availability made it that much better. Add to that the nearness to several top notch boat yards (Embree Marine the best), and you have a truly exceptional location.
Our go to place to stop whenever we get back that way.

You'll like living here if:, 2015-05-12
Captain: , Panama City, Florida (10)

. You dont mind sharing a shower room with others.
. You dont need reliable internet wifi.< say their working on it>
. You dont want cable tv or your own internet service.
. You dont mind the hassle of taking the boat to the pump out.
. Publix and CVS pharmacy is close enough to walk/ bike.
. Super location on Tampa bay.
. Healthy water quality Manatees, Dolphin, Rays, Fish etc.
. Pet friendly

Great Marina, 2015-04-17
Captain: , Gulf Shores AL (160)

Good Fortune, Gulf Shores, Al

Stayed three months and have nothing but positive things to say. Marina staff goes out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The pump out is easy to get to and is the highest quality one I have encountered in years of cruising. Easy single handed access .

Good Marina, Great Location, but know that:, 2015-03-21
Captain: , Daytona Beach (81)

Brian, Steve and Cindy were all great and always friendly and helpful. Nice floating docks and a friendly community of boaters. Loved the location to shopping, groceries, etc. All within a walk or bicycle ride.

Just be aware that their wifi in the slips is terrible , there is no cable TV on the dock and you have to pump out near the sea wall, there is no pump out boat.

All things considered we had a great stay and would go their again when we are in the area

Excellent Value, Snug Harbor, 2015-01-28
Captain: , Stuart FL (758)

Came in for a couple of nights at the recommendation of a friend who keeps his boat here. Wind was honking on Tampa Bay but barely a ripple in here. Wound up spending almost a week and would've enjoyed more. Brian, Shawn and Cindy could not be more friendly and accommodating. Tile restroom / showers are clean and kept that way.'s an easy walk to everything going on in downtown St. Pete. Overall, one of the best stops on a year-long trip!

A great place to be...., 2015-01-03
Captain: , St. Petersburg (10)

My wife and I just left after a very enjoyable year at the Harborage.
The marina is in good repair, with clean facilities and the best part is the staff. The staff consistently does all they can to make your stay better. We highly recommend The Harborage and we will be back.

Friendly fuel dock, 2014-12-29
Captain: , Chicago, Racine, Fish Creek,Wi (3163)

Good fuel prices and service with a smile. Even took my oil to recycle properly and good help when docking.

Felt Like Home, 2014-12-24
Captain: , Kemah, TX (622)

I had my boat here 15 years ago, and when we returned this year, it felt like we were coming home. Friendly staff, great weather protection, well built marina, great walking access to well stocked newer Publix, CVS, downtown.

First class!, 2014-12-05
Captain: , Destin, FL (180)

Nice helpful staff, clean bathrooms, dog friendly, and everyone staying at the marina was great. I'll be coming back.

Great Staff, facilities, AND floating docks!, 2014-11-27
Captain: , San Francisco (10)

I just spent the last 5 months here. The Harborage is one of the very best marinas I've stayed at. The staff is great, very laid back and friendly, attentive to all our needs. Pool, Air conditioned captains lounge w/ big screen TV, nice laundry facility, great security. Close to downtown dining, music, and museums.
We're out cruising now, but we'll be back!

Great home base for enjoying a great city., 2014-05-05
Captain: , Daytona Beach (30)

Have spent part of the spring here and really enjoyed the helpful marina staff, the good protection from east winds (a potential problem for other spots), and the easy access to St. Petersburg. Floating docks are in very good shape, facilities are clean, and staff is helpful and friendly. There seem to be more serious sailor types here, and not so many full time liveaboard on boats that never move. In all, would recommend.

Came for a month; stayed for 10., 2014-04-24
Captain: , Kemah, TX (20)

We came in for a month and stayed for 10. Great staff, well-protected floating docks with full-length finger piers, and the outstanding army of contractors available in the marina and the nearby Salt Creek shipyard complex made this the perfect place for us to be while completing our pre-cruising upgrades and repairs.

Super Marina, 2014-03-28
Captain: , Belhaven (10)

Spent two months here winter of 2014. The Harborage Marina is one of the nicest marinas I have stayed at in over two and a half decades of sailing up and down the east coast of the US and Gulf of Mexico. Access to the facility including their concrete floating docks ,clean showers and restrooms, and captains lounge, is all through keyed secure entrances. The staff is helpful and friendly. In short, this is one of the most meticulously clean marinas I have stayed at. It is conveniently located, within walking distance of many downtown restaurants and museums. A large grocery is also within walking distance. Another perk is a fifteen or twenty minute walk to the annual Indy Car race. Great for a long or short term stay.

Great Marina!, 2014-01-23
Captain: , St. Petersburg (749)

We spent the month of December 2013 in this Marina. A great location just south of downtown – only a bike ride away. lots of activities in the waterfront Park, fantastic farmers market, and lots of great restaurants and shopping. The marina has concrete floating docks and a nice laundry room – three washers and three dryers for just $1 per load. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi is great in the captain's lounge but gets a little weak out on the docks.

Great Location, 2014-01-22
Captain: , St. Petersburg (34)

When we have cruising friends in the area, we always recommend this marina. Great customer service. Clean.

Nice Tucked-in St. Pete Marina, 2013-10-23
Captain: , Apollo Beach - Tampa, FL (361)

Stayed Fri and Sat nights %u2013 Oct 4/5 2013. Very nice tucked-in St. Pete marina. Very good accommodations, floating concrete docks, super clean and organized. Love the location. Very close to downtown St. Pete, the Farmers Market on Saturday, great restaurants, and shops. Take the trolley or walk about a mile. Defiantly will stay in the future.

Great Stay, 2013-10-10
Captain: , Apollo Beach (542)

Stayed last weekend Oct4/5 2013. Once again these folks are doing a great job. Clean clean clean. If there's an east wind in the forcast and you want to make St Pete stay here.

Stayed during Dec2010 boat show. A dock draft is <5 ft so we were put on C dock. THe Harborage Marina folks accommidated us including cooking out that night. Great ammenities and easy 25 cent trolley ride to downtown for dinner. Will stay again!

Excellent facility near downtown, 2013-08-22
Captain: , Plantation Yacht Harbor, Islamorada, Fla. Keys (4666)

Impressive protection and super-friendly staff are the hallmarks of this marina tucked next to downtown St. Pete. Friendly live aboards in mix of sail and power boats. Wide floating docks and fairways, with excellent repair facilities next door in Salt Creek. Fuel and pump out alongside the dry-storage on Salt Creek with new pump out equipment being installed in late 2013. Transient dockage area being dredged in late 2013. Secure parking, clean restrooms, captain's lounge, and pool. Nearby restaurants, and downtown St. Pete's museums and restaurants an easy 5/10 minute walk. The only feature that prevents this from being among the best is the lack of slip-side pump outs.

A Well Sheltered Marina, 2013-05-14
Captain: , Bradenton, Fl (111)

We found a very friendly staff and good floating concrete finger slips. The on-site breakfast cafe is not currently in operation but the seafood restaurant is.

Within Walking Distance of Downtown, 2013-04-26
Captain: , Aquia Harbour, VA (1177)

Enjoyed our stay at The Harborage. Very nice floating docks and wide fairways. Clean restrooms and laundry facilities. Pump out facilities could be improved. The pump out station is outside the marina at a fixed dock. The daily transient rate we were quote was a little more expensive than the municipal marina but the monthly rate was a lot less.

Really nice marina, 2013-01-16
Captain: , St Petersburg FL (110)

Like new marina, floating docks, clean, great restrooms, Captain's Lounge, great restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Have to take the trolley to get downtown. Well run marina. I liked the small airport (Albert Whitted) nearby as you can watch the small planes on approach and departure, not noisy. Great Harbormaster.

Hated to leave, 2012-10-29
Captain: , Fort Pierce City Marina, FL (460)

We spent nearly a year at this marina & loved it. Great floating concrete docks, clean & well maintained facilities & friendly, accomodating staff. Nice laundry, 2 great little restaurants within walking distance, a pump out station & nearby fuel dock. We did alot of work on our boat & were pleased with everything here. Can't say enough good. We left to begin our journey into the islands.

Love it here, 2012-07-27
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (195)

We have kept our boat here since October 2010. Floating docks are great. Rode out TS Debby June 2012 in our slip, no problems. Very attentive staff. Well maintained. Clean bathrooms/showers. Laundry room. Captain's Lounge with free coffee, donuts, TV. Nice pool. Lots of social activity. Accessible to everything downtown St. Pete has to offer. No longer has cable TV so satellite is the only real alternative. Pumpout dock extremely easy to access. Nearby Salt Creek has every imaginable boating facility.

Enjoying The Harborage Marina, 2012-02-21
Captain: , Gulfport, FL (10)

We have been liveaboards here since June 2011 and feel very welcome. The staff is very helpful and the new dockmaster, Deborah, is terrific. During our stay the marina maintenance has greatly improved and we have no problem reporting issues that get fixed in a timely manner. Yes, the pumpout program could be upgraded to a mobile service but recent improvements to the pumpout dock are good. Security is good, too. The floating docks, location, live aboard community, swimming pool, and Bayboro Cafe food & entertainment all add up to a pleasant place to live, spend the weekend, or keep your boat

No service, docks in dis-repair, 2011-12-09
Captain: , Palmetto, Fl. (66)

I have been at this marina for over 18 months and it has gone downhill fast. Most of the dock lights are burned out, most of the very few dock carts are in dis-repair, and bumpers at my slip have been broken for over a year, and I have a significant worry about some cleats due to wood rot.
Asking the staff produces nothing, there is no line or dock help, numerous times I have asked staff walking by to have managers get with me to help with something, nobody has yet to appear. No wi-fi, very limited TV if you put deposit on a receiver.
Recently I told them I would be moving in a month and asked if it would be okay to stay a couple days after the first, after paying on time for 18 months they said it would be $95.00 per day for the extra couple days after the first. This is as bad as it gets.
A lot of my slip-mates are following my example and moving.
If you like service, quality facilities then avoid this marina.

Could be more friendly to transients, 2011-11-11
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (639)

If you are looking for a welcoming friendly and helpful staff for a transient slip for a night or two and a convenient pumpout, go somewhere else. The trolley stop has moved farther away from the Marina. The docks are nice, the power is good, and the pool is nice. This is a nice place for a long term slip rental.

The new Dali Museum is close by and is a must see. We found the Haangar restaurant at the downtown airport to be excellent. This is the nicest place to stay for a St. Pete visit.

It's where we choose to keep our boat, 2011-06-27
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (648)

Wonderfull floating concrete docks with power, water, and TV. Most sheltered marina in St. Pete. Great staff who go out of their way to serve. Two restaurants within walking distance. The marina hosts numerous customer appreciation movie nights and cookouts. Liveaboards are welcome.

I agree with the other poster that the only down side is the pumpout situation. It can be tricky to get in and out of the pumpout dock, but with a little practice we have it down to a science!

Great Marina, 2011-05-03
Captain: , St. Petersburg (455)

I am part of the sailtime program and this marina and think it a s great location. It is well protected, the new managment is great, and the little cafe (under new ownership) is a awesome spot with great food.

Very nice marina, 2011-04-13
Captain: , San Francisco CA (1301)

We have recently leased a slip for a year here and are very satisfied with the marina and its staff. The St. Pete trolley service has changed its route and no longer comes by, which is too bad.

One downside is the pump-out service. Unlike many, many marinas in Florida, there is not a mobile pump-out service for boats in the marina and the pump-out dock is not easy to get in and out of. In my view, this encourages clandestine overboard dumps by boaters and does not make this a "green" marina. I hope they will change and sign up a pump-out service.

Great faility, wonderful Staff, 2011-01-26
Captain: , Clearwater (326)

The Harborage Marina has great staff and is a wonderful, sheltered facility right on Tampa Bay. Easy access to all that Downtown St Pete has to offer

The Harborage Marina, 2009-10-04
Captain: , Houma, LA (417)

The marina is seperate from the small boat storage unit on Salt Creek. We stayed at the marina last winter, and enjoyed our stay. The facilities are nice and within walking distance(10 blocks) to town. A short bike ride, and there are many bike paths. St. Pete is delightfull. Many musems, restaurants, theaters, etc. The staff at the marina were friedly and helpfull. It is about a 30 minute cab ride from the Tampa airport. All in all, a great experence.

Confusing Entry, 2008-11-17
Captain: , Treasure Island, FL (375)

Believe the entry for this Lat/Lon is really The Harboarge High and Dry however the description sounds like the marina which is located at 1110 3rd St. S. If you look at the map it actually shows the High & Dry building. The marina is due North a block or so.

The Harborage High & Dry Boat Storage, 2007-05-28
Captain: , Ybor City (35)

This is a relatively expensive Dry Storage facility - $ 340 for a 25' ft boat. The service leaves something to be desired at times - hosing down the boats is done only superficially if at all and there appears to be a lack of strong management which directs the employees. Also, the building housing the boats is "infested" with birds which leave substabntial droppings on teh boats.
All in all, I wish that there is more competition for Dry Storage facilities in this area
