Reviews for The Boardwalk
stayed on a mooring, 2015-10-10
Captain: , Buffalo, NY (50)

we arrived on a saturday and first went to the municipal docks, which was way to hectic, like a college frat party. had to raft up, that sucked. A dock worker ran out and said I had to turn around, I have a 34ft sailboat and am a newbie Capt, so just said Fuk it!
Called Boardwalk on the radio and they got me on a nice mooring ball, this was more our speed, but obviously of course no electric.
But nice view of the waterfront and all the activity from a distance
the Boardwalks watertaxis are awesome. Those guys really are some great water jockeys, they can pull up and stop on a dime! We were impressed by their skill.
The lavatories and shower rooms are heavily used, but were private and adequately clean enuf.
really enjoyed our stay at Put-in-bay, first time we were ever there. tooling around Island in golf cart was cool, we enjoyed Perrys monument museum and had a nice dinner at The Goat restaruant.
I would go back to the Boardwalk again

Whirlwind of Activity, 2015-08-04
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (950)

Competent and courteous tender service operators for the mooring field that The Boardwalk manages. A LOT of activity with kayaks, jet skis, ski boats, sailboats, ferries, cabin cruisers - all in the same place. Lots of tourists come on the weekends via ferry to partake in the revelry.

I am reviewing the actual building. It if filled with eatiing joints and shops. The Lobster bisk is awwsome! Sit upstairs at the mexican joint for great drinks and killer tacos.

Come ready to party, not sleep, 2015-06-25

Very rolly, narrow, and short slips on the face of the restaurant/bar which also operates as a marina. Located right at the foot of Catawba Street, so very close to all the nightlife. Your decision whether that's a plus or a minus. Very proficient dockhands--perhaps the first time ever that I didn't make ANY adjustments to the way the 2 guys secured us in the limited space on a busy Saturday night. Restrooms are open to the public; but showers are code-access for boaters only.

Avoid weekends, 2014-09-14
Captain: , Golden CO (19)

Moorings $30 if less than 50', launch service included. Good protection. Heads with showers at the gas dock for Boardwalk users.
Weekends packed and noisy, and $40 for the mooring, and sometimes rafting is required.

Prepare for Rough Dockage, 2013-04-24
Captain: , Catawba Island, OH (140)

Docking at the Boardwalk is less than stellar. The docks along the harbor are subjected to the boat wakes of every boat passing by. Getting in/out is difficult, and once you are docked, you constantly rock. I suppose this would work for a day trip, but I would be too worried about my boat to leave it even for a few hours.

Not a bad place, 2012-02-16
Captain: , Erie, PA (100)

We've stayed her a few times over the past 5 years. It worked for us -- the staff was friendly and helpful and it's very handy to the front street of Put-In-Bay town. If they put you up against the boardwalk getting in and out can be a bit challenging, but the hands help you out. It's a fairly long walk (3-5 minutes) to the washroom/shower facilities on the other side of the street. All in all, not a bad place.
