Reviews for The Barefoot Marina
Great stop, 2016-08-15
Captain: , Woodbridge, VA (60)

Late arrival accommodated by Jimmy and team. Early departure with fuel, pump out, water and even posting a letter by Joe (from Guiana??) all flawless in order to make early tide requirements.

Top Notch Marina Resort, 2016-08-12
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (618)

Returned today for 3 nights with 5 boats. Outstanding service, facilities. Marina staff are top notch. Spa appointments made for Saturday! Pool and restaurant on site were both nice on a 95 degree day. Service at the restaurant was veery slow but good was great. Drink service at the pool is a welcome addition. You won't be disappointed.

From marina staff to the huge pool - everything is top notch. Highly recommend as a longer than overnight stay. Boat US discount on fuel. On site restaurant was adequate for happy hour but many choices are across the ICW.

Late night arrival, 2016-07-30
Captain: , Savannah, GA (320)

Spoke to James Collins, Dock Master, after hours for dockage. First off, he answered his cell phone and gave us docking instructions for our late arrival. Very nice t-dock with easy access. He agree to e-mail our invoice the next day as we departed at 0700 hours the next morning. We will return.
Update: Returned July 27, 2016. Short day on the water due to the heat. Upon arrival they gave us a pool pass at their facility. Very, Very refreshing and must appreciated!

Great Customer Service, 2016-04-28
Captain: , Annapolis (40)

Easy docking. Dock master Jimmy Collins was great. We needed a wrench to tighten our stuffing box, and he lent us his car do we could get to Ace Hardware before they closed!
Nice facilities.

Great Marina, 2016-03-02
Captain: , Wanchese NC (30)

Stayed from December till March 1st. Very nice facility and very helpful staff. Only downside is awful WIFI. Nice walk to Barefoot Landing and grocery store. Lots of restaurants and we loved Mollys Creamery. House of Blues and Alabama Theater there. Best part was friendly people and a couple that made us feel like part of their family. We will miss them.
Till next fall.

Great Marina and Really Good Staff, 2015-11-25
Captain: , Oriental, NC (160)

Everything worked! Well maintained facility and staff that acted like they cared. Stayed here twice in last 60 days and had the same great service both times. Only downside is is access to only one restaurant on this side of waterway.

Nice Stop - Easy In / Out, 2015-11-15
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (909)

Easy docking at the outside face dock. Facilities were clean. Didn't try the restaurant, but the music was going. Very high pilings, so good if bad weather should come through. I was told that they moved boats from Barefoot Landing Marina on the S. side of the ICW to here when Joaquin and the Nor'easters raised water levels almost to where Barefoot Landing's floating docks came close to floating over their pilings. Good to see neighboring marinas help each other out in time of need.

Easy in Easy out, 2015-11-13
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (180)

Right on the ICW with very pleasant dock hand to assist. Very clean marina and facilities. Good restaurant with a happy hour. The chef cooks right in front of you at the bar. Food was great and staff very nice. Laundry was very inexpensive and had dinner while waiting. Very good value.

Great, but... No Wifi. , 2015-11-11
Captain: , Deltaville VA (140)

Facility is all you could want. Staff - Excellent. Tonight they waited beyond 5pm, just for me.
Just that one thing. No Wifi.
My constant annoyance, is that when I ask, at many marinas "Do you have Wifi?" They ALWAYS say "Yes." They never say no. They give me the secret password, then... Nothing.
If you don't have it, Just Say No.
Save me the hassle of trying to get on line. I'm am docked 10ft from the office. Nothing.
Other than that, it's great.

reasonable price if you stay for a couple of weeks, 2015-11-05
Captain: , Buffalo (832)

Normally about $2 foot, but if you commit to a month, they will charge you $9 a foot. We stayed two weeks so we could rent a car and travel home for some things, then returned. We had wifi for the first couple of days with our booster, but then it disappeared and we were never able to get it again. Staff is helpful and the floating docks are really nice. Went across the river to the Alabama Theatre. Did not eat here.

Great location through Joaquin monsoons, 2015-10-20
Captain: , Fort Pierce City Marina, FL (420)

9/30/15 We were here for a week throughout the Joaquin winds and rain. Great floating docks make this a safe location. Very large pool and hot tub. The Sunday morning brunch at the house of blues is worth the visit ($6 cab ride) as is a visit to all of the shops at Barefoot Landing. All of the dockmasters were quite helpful and even gave us 2 free nights due to the storm. 13" of rain here! No WIFI here that works and probably 2 miles to grocery is the reason they didn't get 5 stars.

Barefoot Marina, 2015-10-06
Captain: , Sandwich (692)

Randy and Jimmy run the place and do a great job. Our stay was thru Joaquin. Dock pilings height prevailed! 2.7 miles to Walmart Superstore. Bathrooms a bit dated but kept very clean. Cable TV good. No WIFI!);

Once again, 2015-08-07
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

We have called at this location for year and have never been disappointed.
Although it is across the water from most activities, one can easily walk or bike to outstanding venues.
Staff is awesome and the facilities are clean.

Outstanding Dockmaster- Brad, 2015-07-25
Captain: , Beaufort NC (10)

Towed in to the marina with an engine that quit on me 2 miles south on the ICW. Brad helped us tie up and asked what kind of problem we were having. Gave us the name of a good mobile marine mechanic that knew gas engines. Extremely helpful, prefessional. pleasant our two day stay. Sincerely wanted to see us get out boat repaired so we could get back home. Other staff very helpful and pleasant as well. Definitely 5 star rating earned.

Top Notch and a great pool for the kids!, 2015-06-24
Captain: , Barrington, NH (283)

(*** The water is thin at the facedocks at low tide and we even ran aground (5.5' draw) on a hump at the entrance as we were approaching. If you avoid that should be fine.) We had to spend the night in this area as the Barefoot swing bridge was locked shut due to the heat! The dockmaster at the marina reached out to us on the radio offering to let us just hang out on their face docks until the bridge opened and even use the pool. We took him up on his offer and then decided to stay. We all enjoyed the olympic sized swimming pool, hot tub and the clean and air conditioned showers for the night and were in a great spot to catch the bridge opening the next morning.

great marina, 2015-04-16
Captain: , Chattanooga tn (281)

Nice floating concrete docks
Within 1 mile of grocery store, beach, shopping and entertainment. Monthly fee of $9 a foot. Cable tv included. Only complaint wifi is poor and mostly does not connect

Great marina with friendly dock help, 2015-04-03
Captain: , Matthews, NC (10)

Dock crew is great. Will bend over backward to make your stay enjoyable

Great marina poor restaurant, 2014-10-04
Captain: , Cape Cod, MA (179)

Agree w/everything said about the marina - good people, good clean facilities, very nice pool. Dirty Don's, the only restaurant on this side of the waterway, isn't much to write home about, though the staff is very friendly. Spring for a taxi to one of the several restaurants on the other side.

Great Staff, 2014-08-24
Captain: , Daniel Island, SC (310)

They'll always give you an after-hours cell number just in case. Terrific service and excellent docks. Warning: the restaurant behind the marina offers a limited, frozen-food menu and was very disappointing

Swimming pool to die for., 2014-08-24
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (532)

Arrived 6/6/2014 for a couple of days in Myrtle Beach. (Bike Week was over). Relaxed in huge pool one day, marina resident gave us a ride across river to Greg Norman's Restuarant, excellent food BTW. Marina walking distance across bridge to large shopping and entertainment complex, with beaches just a few more locks to the east. Tie along transient parking exposed to boat wakes, but most traffic over by dark-thirty. Staff very capable, and resident boat owners very helpful and friendly.

Stayed two nights, 2014-07-29
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (432)

Great place. Excellent helpful staff. Decent bathrooms, could stand a good scrubbing, but other than that ok. Great laundry room. First class docks and outstanding pool!

Was advised that Barefoot Landing Marina, across the canal will not accept people dinghying over from Barefoot Marina without payment - we were advised with our Stand-Up-Paddleboards that they might nto be secure there if we left them. Found this a bit sad, since this limits the access to the shops/food over there by way of a quick dinghy ride. So we took the bridge. No worries.

Barefoot Marina, 2014-06-24
Captain: , Wickford, RI (1637)

What a pleasant surprise! Dock hand met us, helped us, management was quite nice, enjoyed the pool.
Saw boaters we hadn't sen in a while, talked to some others and ended up at a potluck supper. Such a welcome!

i'll second that, 2014-06-06
Captain: , iuka,ms (222)

everything jeff stated in the last review is spot on..a nice place to stop overnite or a month

The Perfect ICW Stop..., 2014-05-22
Captain: , Castine, ME (58529)

Another spring, another stop at Barefoot Marina. We planned to stay for 2 nights but ended up spending a few extra days because of a bad front coming through. This gave us much more time to walk around the area, explore the shopping center across the bridge, and meet up with friends at the onsite restaurant.

This marina remains a comfortable and convenient stop. The staff is great and the facilities are stellar.

There's no better thing I can say about this marina than, we'd come back in a heartbeat.

Previous review:
This is such a convenient spot. Right off the ICW and a perfect distance from Southport heading south. Bill is an exceptional manager and makes the stay enjoyable.

We like this side of the ICW because it is much more quiet. Fuel and pumpout are available (and work) and you can easily walk over the bridge to all the tourist shops and restaurants.

The facilities are wonderful - new docks, etc. Pricing is excellent and the electric was free.

From here heading south, Georgetown makes a nice easy day.

There's a lot to like about this location and marina. There is no questions that we'll come back.

First Class Marina, 2014-04-29
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (602)

The Barefoot Marina is First Class all the way. Wide concrete floating docks, clean restrooms and showers, gas, diesel, strong pumpout (also a pumpout boat for mobile service), 30 & 50 amp electric, water, cable TV, WIFI, laundry, restauran/bar on site, security gates on docks.
Summary: It has everything you expect in a marina.
It is across the AICW from shopping and entertainment venues so that can be a problem.
First Class Staff. They are especiall friendly and helpful.

Nice place to stop and recover from the trip up, 2014-04-26
Captain: , Lewis Creek, Md (1214)

The marina staff is helpful, the hot tub warm, the pool cooool, the laudry cheap, and the bathrooms clean. This is a stopover place and a marina for the resort, but the price is reasonable and the beach close by bike.

Barefoot Marina, 2014-04-23
Captain: , Meredith, NH (638)

We stayed here April 19th, 2014. The staff was very helpful & the facilities were excellent. We caught up on our laundry & had a restful night. We only wish they were closer to groceries & other supplies.

Place to stay, 2014-03-03
Captain: , yorktown, va (50)

This is our fifth time at Barefoot Marina stopping southbound and northbound between Yorktown, Va and Savannah/Charleston areas and it has to be at the top of the list for places to stay. The facilities are clean, convenient and easily accessible. The staff is stable, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Fuel prices are a little high but the dockage rate definitely makes up the difference. George, Bill and Jimmy, thank you!

Good price good facilities, 2014-01-04
Captain: , Stuart FL (805)

March 25 2012
Price is $1.25/ft with free electic. We tied up on the facedock in the ICW. It was early in the year so not much in the way of wakes. Could be worse in peak season. But then you simply go to the inside. Laundry facilities first rate and close to docks. Resturant on site. We heard good reports but did not eat there so no first hand knowledge. Staff first rate. If you do not mind a 15-20 minute walk you can be on the other side of the ICW with all the shops.

Good place to tie up for the night.

Stephen Starling

One of the best!, 2013-12-07
Captain: , Carlyle, IL (334)

Clearly all $1.25 per ft per night are not equal. This place is outstanding and much less than we've paid elsewhere for lower quality. The docks are in pristeen shape, the showers are large, private, and clean, the pool and hot tub are to die for. Everything is close by and the staff is exceedingly friendly. We will definitely return to this place!

Great staff and location, 2013-12-04
Captain: , Keyesport, IL (170)

This is the second year that we have spent a month at the Barefoot Marina. Last year it was because we need to head north by rental car for family business. This year we had a medical emergency. We made preliminary arrangements with the marina by phone as we were heading south. There is a clinic about a mile away. A half block farther is Enterprise Rental Car. Grand Strand Medical Center and Hosptal is seven miles south down US 17. We ended up there for preliminary tests and then were sent to MUSC in Charleston for treatment. That is another 100 miles south, easily reachable by rental car. During all of our medical trials and recovery, the marina staff has been very helpful and supportive.

Great Marina, 2013-11-18
Captain: , Stuart, FL (909)

So easy to slide off the ICW. Very helpful, friendly dockhands. Price is right. Some place to walk and get some exercise. Also, friendly "residents" on the dock. No downside to this marina.

Priced right and very convenient + good wifi too!, 2013-11-17
Captain: , US East Coast (610)

$1.25 per foot and right on the ICW

unless you need shopping why stay at the other place - Barefoot Landing - when you can stay here for less

Contrary to what the last reviewer said, we had no issues whatsoever with the wifi - and we were docked right at the face dock on the ICW

Very friendly staff, nice facilities

Great Place.....with one suggestion, 2013-11-14
Captain: , Edenton, NC (887)

This is a great place with great people. We had always stopped on the other side and now see the error in our ways. However, if you need to have wifi during your visit then you might want to go back across the ICW. We were on the face dock right next to the marina office and could effectively get no data through. We could connect but the data rate was 300 baud dialup speeds. We gave up and used our 3G phone instead.

Another great stop, 2013-11-03
Captain: , Charlestown (946)

After dodging sandbars and shoaling heading south from Southport, NC this was a welcomed stop. Do not confuse this Marina with the Barefoot Landing Marina on the port side while heading southbound. This place has a great staff and great facilities. A short walk over the bridge will bring you to restaurants and shopping. The House of Blues is also right over the bridge as is the Alabama Theater if you are looking for some entertainment while ashore. The food store I am told is a left off the bridge, but we did not need provisions so I am not sure how far it is. The docks are floating concrete and somewhat protected from the ICW if you get on the inside.

Very nice, 2013-10-31
Captain: , Boothbay Harbor, Maine (310)

The long concrete floating docks were excellent - easy in and out aided by very helpful dock hands. We did not have the weather to enjoy the pool, but did take our bikes the two miles to the beach, which is across a very busy Rt. 17. The Dirty Don's bar across the street from the marina is a good watering hole but that is about it. An oyster bar "it ain't". Save your money.

Captain: , Vancouver, Canada (487)

This marina is a MUST. It is so friendly...very low cost...very secure... close to the beach and lots of neat Happy Hour deals just a short walk across the bridge. We stayed here a month!

Enjoyable and Easy with Special Attention, 2013-09-20
Captain: , Buffalo, New York (1676)

Bill and George have a new team member, Jimmy Collins. Jimmy went out of his way to make us feel welcome, help us with equipment to fix a repair, and, give us local recommendations. I only regret that I didn't get to the beach on this trip! But, enjoyed the beautiful pool....

As always, Bill and team treat us like friends. New team mate Brian went out of his way to accommodate us for after-hours arrival. Will always make the time to stop here.

Enjoyed the afternoon ocean breeze, while watching the activity across the ICW - but, not being IN the activity ;-) The dock team were enthusiastic. Super BiLo is an easy 1 mile, across the bridge. Laundry room and showers were clean, and, easily available.

Clean and Professional, 2013-08-22
Captain: , Myrtle Beach, SC (10)

Wonderfull place to stay. Beautiful floating cement docks, HUGE Pool, Cable, Fuel, NICE PROFESSIONAL dock hands. Great $. Nothing but good to say.

Nice Location, 2013-06-30
Captain: , Beaufort, S.C. (570)

We have stopped at Barefoot Resort several times on various trips north and have always enjoyed our stay. The marina personnel are helpful and friendly. Barefoot Landing is a short walk across the bridge with many shops and restaurants. If you like pralines and caramel bear paws don%u2019t miss River Street Sweets. As you walk around you will find a scenic footbridge running through the shopping center where we observed about a hundred turtles sunning themselves. There is also an area where you can see endangered white tigers.

Stayed across the canal last time, 2013-06-13
Captain: , Kingston, Ontario (1880)

tried here this time. Tremendous service, many more amenities and all for 0.75/ft less. Definately a bettter deal.
Here again, still love it, great place to stop and recharge the batteries.

Very Nice., 2013-05-19
Captain: , redondo Beach, CA (252)

Easy access, and a top notch staff. Good restaurant.

It may be a great long term location but..., 2013-04-25
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, FL (177)

As everyone before me said it is a beautiful facility with lots of amenities for a long stay, but if you are looking to be on the right side of the ICW this is not it. Yes, you can walk, bike or rent a car as we did. However, all the loopers we saw docked at the Landing and had everything at your doorstep. Landing is a better spot for a short stay.

Definately a First Choice, 2013-04-16
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4015)

Helpful and friendly staff, wonderful and welcoming long-term boaters, first-class docks, and value pricing. The only negative we experienced, and it was small, was the wakes by passing boats. Transients are placed on the face dock, which makes docking easy, but exposes the boat to wakes. They really try hard here to meet your needs.

Still An All Time Favorite!, 2012-12-01
Captain: , Topsail Beach, NC (480)

December 2012 - We are back at Barefoot Marina and have been here for a month with a month to go. Recent reviews have downgraded the bathroom facilities, but I must disagree. I find the bathrooms to always be clean and fresh. I can't speak personally about the men's room, but my husband says it is generally clean as well. I can't imagine ever giving this place less than 5 stars! Great docks, great dock hands, very convenient location, and CLEAN! They even insist on hosing off the docks if my dog accidently pees on the way to shore!

Betsy Johnson
Rick 'n Roll

Fall 2011...We have spent the past 5 weeks at the Barefoot Marina and cannot say enough good things about it....clean facilities, competent, friendly employees, and great concrete floating docks in a well laid out marina. There is a restaurant/bar/grill on site, as well as many more restaurants and shops just across the waterway, a good walk across the bridge or an easy bike ride away. There is a place right on the face dock suitable for docktail gatherings. Pumpout is FREE. Gas/Diesel is available at competitive prices. Dockage is very fairly priced and competitive. Great monthly rates. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are included and keypad locked gates surround the docks. Showers and laundry facilities are also secured.

The only thing missing is a courtesy car, but Enterprise is right up the street!

Conviently located, 2012-11-30
Captain: , Great Falls, VA (1092)

I have stayed here a couple times, when the current slows me down enough that I cannot get to my anchorage. The price is reasonable and the location with tie ups on a face dock mean quick in and out to get back underway the next day. Restraunt is closed but apparently a new and better one is opening next year. Have to go across the bridge to find the "happening" area, but I stop here for rest and convience and find it fills those needs very well.

Convenient, 2012-11-28
Captain: , Oriental (270)

This marina has cement pilings and floating docks with good cleeets. The outside bulkhead was very comfortable even though it is right there on the ICW. We had an uneventful overnight.

The laundry facilities have two each washer and dryer, normal size capacity, $1.25 per load. The women's showers are in another room that has two rooms one for each toilet/shower/sink. It was clean, the shower head was great, and there was plenty of hot water. The big negative was that the whole hallway to the women's, men's and laundry, and the inside of the women's (men's too probably) is that they smell sour and like the horrid smell you find around a garbage dumpster. My husband says the men's room was aweful: no water at one sink, no light in the bathroom except one little flourescent light (none over the sink), and the shower was dirty.

Being November the onsite restaurant was closed Mon - Tue. It was an easy walk over the swing bridge to the happening side of the ICW. There is a large, very pretty commercial 'amusement park' feeling shopping/dining area minus the rides except for a lovely carousel. It was only about 1/3 up and running as well due to the date (Nov 5).

GOOD SHORT STOP, 2012-11-17
Captain: , Hampton, VA (291)

Wound up spending 2 nights here. Our experience mirrors many others:
1. OK prices (fuel/dockage)
2. Shallow just south of the fuel dock. We draw just under 6' and we bumped pretty hard at low tide.
3. Men's head/showers were terrible. Smelly, not clean.
4. Staff was nice. George was good at assisting our fueling and Tom was extremely kind in taking me about 6 miles to pick up a vital boat part.
5. Laundry was good and reasonable at $1.25/load
6. Relatively calm, even on face dock along ICW. Most boats honored the "no wake" zone.
We would go back.

Great Stop, 2012-11-07
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (160)

I stayed on a Thursday night and the staff was very helpful. I called ahead to let the staff know I was close but it was near 1700. I arrived just before 1700 and Bill stayed and answered all my questions. It was a very enjoyable stay. The next day we had to pump out and fuel up. The pump out was strong and the fuel price was excellent. I will be back on my trip north.

Hard Aground, 2012-10-31
Captain: , Seattle (68)

As I write this, I am hard aground 5 feet off the middle face dock at the entrance to the marina. I draw 6.5 feet, and I am reading 6.1 on my depth sounder with the tide at 0.6 feet. Fortunately, I am waiting on a rising tide.

Finally got off thanks to the wake of a kind power boater. I'm now tied up at the north face dock with my depth sounder reading 6.6 feet and the tide at 1 foot. This place is not suitable for deep draft vessels.

Mediocre marina , 2012-10-25
Captain: , Rock Hall, Md (230)

This is one marina we will not return to. The sailing vessel in front of us grounded just a few feet from the face dock. The dock hand had to know of this shoaling but just stood there and never said a word. He barely helped us. They advertise wifi but there is no service on the face dock. The walk to the bathrooms are a hike. No courtesy car or bikes to get to any grocery. Yes, there is a beautiful pool and hot tub.

Excellent marina - excellent staff!, 2012-10-25
Captain: , Mystic, CT (270)

This is one of the best deals on the waterway! $1.25/foot which includes electric. Nice showers and a nice walk across the bridge to Barefoot Landing and the Bi-Lo supermarket. Lots to do in Barefoot Landing if you need a culture fix! The staff here is super friendly and attentive to your needs. We will stop here every time we pass through.

Hard to leave, 2012-10-14
Captain: , Jacksonville Fl (1459)

Such an awesome place we just wanted to stay. Pulled in on Monday for a day or two and stayed untill Sunday. Bill and his staff along with the locals make you feel right at home. Sat they had a pig picking and free beer to boot. Boaters brought a dish to pass and a great time was had by all.

Engine problems prompted a 3 night stay, 2012-07-22
Captain: , Southport, NC (706)

Planed on one night, ended up staying three. Vacation not a total bust though, lots of shopping, House of Blues concert and other Entertainment walking distance. Actually we had a great time. The marina staff was very helpful and friendly. I stayed on the T-dock on request all three nights. Jets ski wakes were constant but not a problem. Actually rude boaters caused more wakes plowing through the no wake zone. The Marina staff would blow a horn at them and tell them to slow down. What else can you do? Wakes were still not that much of a problem. The marina shares a pool and hot tub with the Barefoot Resort. Nice but crowded with lots of playing kids with no parental oversight (even at 9:00 pm). There's a restuarant at the resort in front of the marina (Docksiders). Live music and good food. Overall, we turned a bad thing into a good vacation. We will be back in October.

Great for fireworks, 2012-07-12
Captain: , CHARLESTON (330)

stayed 2 nights. First night on T dock but had to move for fireworks the next night. Was placed on las slip - low water for my 4.5 draft, but can's say enough about the staff. Very helpful, and pleasant. The pool was nice, baths and shower adequate.

Holiday Night, 2012-07-08
Captain: , Sodus Point, NY (678)

This was my first stay here. We have a sailboat with a 5.5' draft. July 4th was the next day, so were told to dock at the southern most end of the southern T-dock. I told the dockmaster we had never stayed there before. On approach we ran aground (near low tide). There was only one other boat on all of the face docks (next day was fireworks, so he couldn't have anyone there), he knew we were only staying 1 night, but he tried to put us where there is a sandbar on approach. Very frustrating.

Besides that, very nice concrete docks and friendly atmosphere. Pool was closed due to cleaning. Bathrooms were OK, not that clean, but it was a holiday week. The grill has very good bar food and a nice breeze.

Late Arrival, 2012-06-23
Captain: , London, UK (326)

We arrived late at 7.30 pm and the helpful dockhand remained on duty to see us in. Although on the facedock we were not bothered by the slight wake generated from a few passing boats. We highly recommend this marina - clean, organised, great showers laundry, pool, free wifi and a good sized shopping mall across the bridge. The dock rates are modest for what is offered and check out times are extremely flexible.

Holiday weekend, 2012-05-28
Captain: , Grand Haven (470)

They tied us up on the gas dock and the boat traffic on the ICW was heavy on the holiday weekend. Most of them did not know that they need to go slow past the marina. Dock hands are very helpful and restrooms are clean. All of the shopping is on the other side of the ICW. We had a fantastic lunch at the flying fish resturant.
I will have to contact C-map this marina was not on our chart.

Always a winner, 2012-05-23

We like this place a lot. Easy on and easy off, great help docking, good food nearby, and lots of shopping if you need it, though we never looked for groceries. Bathrooms are a hike.

Great Marina, Great Pricing, 2012-05-11
Captain: , Marion, MA (51)

Now here is a marina that is trying very hard to win customers by doing the right thing. At a $1.25 per foot it is hard to beat the dockage fee; hey and that included power!! Great dock staff, friendly and helpful. Floating docks are in good shape. The showers and toilets were clean and fabulously air conditioned; - it was stinking hot and humid the day we arrived.
Apart from the popular bar and restaurant at the end of the dock, everything else is a health walk over the bridge, including %u2018The House of Blues%u2019, (15 minute walk) which is worth a visit.

Clean and Helpful, 2012-04-26
Captain: , Southport, NC (82)

This was written a year ago but still pertains in April of 2012. Docks are in great shape, lots of water (8 feet at low tide in bukhead slip), and the head/rest rooms are very well cared for. The PWC rental is open but under control in terms of idiot operators. Dock hands monitor and try to control boats making too much wake (when will people learn that there is more wake at half throttle than on a plane?). The dock hands are also VERY helpful. Pool is a very nice amenity. Relatively short walk to the shopping center. Restaurant was open but did not try it.

Great Marina, 2012-04-21
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (1696)

Stayed three nights. Great docks and overall facilities. Very modern. As previously posted some kind of transportation into town would make it a five star, even if it were just a willingess to give a ride to the local grocery store. Met some great people there.

Excellent place, 2012-04-21
Captain: , Hubert, NC (20)

The Flying Fish had the best crab cakes I've had in a while. We were only there for a few hours as a stop for lunch in MB but, in my humble opiion MB is way overrated and I've never had a desire to go to a touristy destination but this was a place with a lot of options so well worth it.

Good Place to Stop, 2012-04-12
Captain: , Cincinnati (1800)

Great marina with all you need except courtesy car. Would be 5 stars with the car. Place is easy to fuel, pump out, and dock with plenty of helpful staff. Would stay here again.

A Great Marina, 2012-03-25
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (329)

This is the fourth time that we stopped at this marina and we typically stay between 3 and 7 nights. At $1.25/ft per night their prices are good. If we need to stay longer their monthly rate of $8.00/ft is difficult to beat. There is plenty of alongside docking or if you prefer there are slips, all with new floating docks that are high enough to keep your fenders out of the water. They have clean facilities including washers and dryers and a large salt-water pool. Also, there is a casual restaurant at the marina. The shops at Barefoot Landing across the ICW are an easy mile walk away and the Bi-Lo grocery store and Ace hardware store are not much farther.

you make the choice., 2012-03-23
Captain: , sassafras river, md (303)

either stay a a five star marina or a 3 star seawall.
bareboot landing has two good places to stop. The marina on the starboard side as you travel south, or the seawall on the port side. both cost 1.25 a foot. but the marina has a pump out, fuel, 5 star resturant, pool, showers, and great staff. There's no comparision. The marina is a great stop. everything you could want in one place.

One of the nicest marinas around, 2012-03-22
Captain: , N Fort Myers, Florida (516)

This marina has everything you could ask for, except for a courtesy car. We came for a night and stayed two weeks. The harbour master goes out of his way to accomodate your needs. Water, electric, and cable are all included for $1.25 per foot, and the monthly rate is even better!

Very clean, 2012-02-08
Captain: , SeaScape Marina (310)

Very clean marina. Food has a Carribean flare. Protected marina. Can accomodate large boats.

Very Professional, 2011-12-13
Captain: , Solomons, MD (464)

As advertised, very professionally organized marina with great dock help. Reasonable rates. We like it much better than Barefoot Landing on the other side.

Strong WiFi.

good food, nice marina, 2011-12-06

Part of a condo complex. Barefoot Landing bridge is closed for repairs so could not go across to the shopping center. Restaurant had great specials. Nice stay.

This is my 3rd stop here, 2011-11-19
Captain: , Greenville TX (580)

Wonderful staff, great restaurants (Umberto's is fantastic), and comfortable setting - even though right on the waterway, very little wake or wave effect.

Great overnight stop, 2011-11-15
Captain: , Solomons, MD (1290)

Stopped here 11/4/11. Aconenvient stop as usual. More complete and newer facitilties on western shore of ICW versus Barefoot Landing on eastern side. Can be rolly because passing boats do not honor the no wake zone. The price is reasonable at $1.25 ft. and the dock hands, George and Bill, are very helpful and friendly. Great place to get a good jog or walk in. Bathroom and showers looked nice and clean. Will surely return.

Feels like you hometown marina, 2011-11-14
Captain: , Denver NC (329)

When you pull in here you feel like your home. The dock hands are friendly and don't overhelp. The marina staff welcomes you kindly. They don't see a small boat they see guests, big boat or small.

Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (250)

$8/ft. plus $50 for electric-monthly rate
good pump-out, cable TV, nice walk across the bridge then left to a grocery store.(less than a mile)
Restaurant on premises (closed Mon and Tues) has nice outdoor fireplace and firepit.
Valvtech fuel at reasonable prices
Huge saltwater swimming pool during warm weather. Dockmasters are very helpful.
Came for a few days and stayed for a month!

Terrific facility, terrific dockmasters, 2011-11-07
Captain: , Nashville,TN (437)

One of those rare, really nice marinas that refuses to gouge you. Bill and George are real pros, the docks are beauthiful, electric and pumpout are included in the $1.25/foot dailty rate, there are fun places to visit nearby, there's an adjacent huge grassy field for doggy fun....what more can you ask?

Unexpected good stop, 2011-10-21
Captain: , Marco Island, FL (1135)

I thought I booked the marina across the way named Barefoot Landing Marina. But once we tied up here, it turned out to be great. George was so helpful and just a pleasure to talk to. There resturant is sports themed but the food was great. There was a whole outside part with a fire pit and fire place. And it's a short walk/bike ride over the bridge to all the shops.

great stop, 2011-07-31
Captain: , Palmetto Fl (545)

Spent 2 days here on the facedock to check out the area on our way south. End of dock leased to a jet ski rental business. He could not control the wakes put down by the people who rented his jet skis. When asked to improve the situation, as they were constantly waking our boat at the marina, he got beligerent and threatened my husband. Management at Barefoot said they have tried and tried to remedy the situation, but to no avail. They did speak to them again and hopefully things will improve. The jet ski business is not part of the marina. Other than that, the facilities are excellent: pool, bathrooms, showers, laundry, restaurant on site with reasonable prices, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy 1 mile bike ride or walk to the beach and less than that to the Barefoot Landing shops with lots of restaurant choices. Would have gotten a five star rating except fo the jet skis. We came by here in May and had no jet ski probelms at that time.

Barefoot Marina Ressort - Excellent Pool & Perfect ICW View, 2011-07-11
Captain: , Cruising (112)

Excellent floating docks with gated access from the parking areas. Restrooms and laundry were good. The pool is large and spectacular with a hot tub, too. It was perfect for our 3-year-old grandson's visit. We enjoyed the unobstructied view of the ICW. The beach is about two miles away, and a shuttle is provided.
The staff is friendly, helpful, courteous, and efficient. Bill, George, Zack and Hunter took very good care of us for our five week visit. The rates are very reasonable.
While there are No Wake buoys at both ends of the marina, they are largely ignored by rude boaters and obnoxious jet skiers. The marina staff made repeated attempts to slow down the jet ski guides based at the marina and their customers, but they continued to be rude and discourteious.

Great pool and restaurant, 2011-07-07
Captain: , Southport (11)

Stayed one night just as the Docksider's Grille restaurant was opening. It was good with reasonable prices. The pool was very nice--a good place to cool off and relax. There is bar service from the restaurant. Boat slips were good and the dock hands were very helpful.

good stop, 2011-06-22
Captain: , Gloucester, VA (514)

Nice marina. Easy access, helpful deck hands. floating concrete docks. price was great. we have 30amp service x 2 and the hookup was for a 30 or a 50amp. They provided us with the 50amp splitter. There was no charge for elec and water hookup. Ladies bath was clean. Mens bath was not. All the restaurants and entertainment were across the ditch. We took our dinghy across and parked at the Barefoot Landing for $5.00. There are tons of restaurants and shops to choose from along with the infamous Alabama Theatre. Seeing a show there tomorrow night.Restaurant on site was open but we did not try it. Seems like a nice place though with reasonable prices.

Don't be Confused, 2011-06-21
Captain: , Baddeck, Nova Scotia (160)

We thought we had reserved a spot at Barefoot Landing when in fact we had a spot at Barefoot Marina. Turns out there 500' feet apart on opposite sides of the ICW. The Marina offered everything we needed, clean fuel, professional and courteous dock hands, a fair restraunt, WiFi and a straight shot to the bridge in the morning. Everything you could ask for in an overnight stop. Looking to shop, stroll and visit downtown, go to the opposite side of the ditch.

Good Rates, Nice Facility, Fuel Discount, 2011-05-28
Captain: , Pentwater, MI (415)

Barefoot is a good marina with a helpful and knowledgeable staff. Do be aware if you stay here on a weekend, there is jet ski rental north of the gas dock. They renters scream up and down the ICW all day and seldom respect the no wake zone posting.

Very good stop behind Myrtle Beach/N Myrtle Beach, 2011-05-13
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (384)

Price is right, very good stone oven pizza will deliver, not much of a walk to go across the bridge to the landing. Has become a regular stop.

Nice place and good facilities, 2011-05-03
Captain: , Sunset Beach, NC (1122)

George is very friendly. Very nice locker rooms and laundry. Easy walk across to Barefoot (maybe a mile but nice walk). The guy at Barefoot Landing seems to say anything to convince people the Barefoot Resort Marina is closed.

Inexpensive place to stop in Myrtle Beach..., 2011-04-21
Captain: , North Carolina (344)

Nice clean stopover but it's on the wrong side of the waterway unless you want to walk about a mile plus.

Nice Stop!, 2010-11-11

Transient rate is $1.25/ft. Laundry is $1.25 (very good driers!). Dockside Restaurant is now closed.

Easy walk across the Barefoot Landing Bridge to stores.

Great Rendezvous, 2010-04-30

Great marina and the marina staff very helpful and nice.
The restaurant at the marina was not very good. They do have a good happy hour.

Great stop, but....., 2009-05-31
Captain: , Chocowinity NC (40)

Our stop in mid-May was shortly after the fires in MB had been put out, thus there was little activity at the resort or restaurant. BoatUS 1.50 rate included power and free pumpouts. There is no longer a courtesy car to get across the ICW. Also, the inside slips are wired only for 50 Amps, and they didn't have an adapter for my 30A plug. Had to stretch a ways across to the face dock for power. Guess I'll invest in an adapter of my own.

Excellent Stop, 2007-08-23
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, FL (79)

First class new facility, professional staff, great pool.
Inside slips, less wake than staying tied on wall across ICW at other facility. BoatUS Discount

First class Marina, 2007-07-31
Captain: , Wilmington NC (24)

Docks are superb; Personnell are very accomadating; Able to get boat fueled in slip. Restaurant on premises could use more help, slow service. Restrooms are First Class. Courtesy van available to take you to town or beach. One of best marinas in North or South Carolina.
