Reviews for Telegraph Harbour Marina
Was OK, but doubt we'll be back.., 2016-08-08
Captain: , North Vancouver, BC (547)

Nice enough place, but tight docks, shore amenities that weren't much more than campsite-washrooms, no pub/food , $22 pies and the most expensive moorage (and power) we experienced on our 2 week journey. We can tick the "been there done that" box, but next time we'll find other accomodations..

There is something about this place, 2016-07-31
Captain: , Seattle (344)

It has that special feel to it, and we always have a good experience. This time was no exception as we were met at the nearly vacant docks by the owner. This was mid June and mid week. We paid for moorage and ice cream, then kayaked through the cut. Quiet and calm, just how we like it.

Well worth a Visit, 2016-07-13
Captain: , Seattle, WA (10)

This is our second time to Telegraph Harbour Marina and we love it. The owners Ron and Tara are great and always helpful. Ron greets you at the dock and helps you settle in. We love getting milk shakes and sitting up in the lawn overlooking the marina. Pizza's are great and they will deliver them to the boat... We will be back for sure...

Owner met us at the dock, to assist with moorage and explain facilities. We were surprised to see water at the dock (considering 2015 shortages) for filling tanks (no washing). Very friendly staff. Food was good in the Bistro. We took the ferry (30 mins.) to Chemanius to see the sights, well worth the venture. Great protected marina with lots of facilities.

beautiful place, 2015-06-11
Captain: , Anacortes Washington (45)

Our first ( and certainly not last) time was in early June so the marina was fairly empty. They have a beautiful setting, good docks and friendly owners. Many things for kids to do, very clean restroom/showers. This marina is one of the best in the Gulf Islands!

Great Place in Gulf Islands, 2014-08-15
Captain: , Rocky Point (60)

Stayed there for two nights in August 2014.
Great place to visit. Nice marina with good docks. Showers were expensive at $3 for 5 minutes. No internet available.
Went swimming in the ocean near the marina in warm water. The only place during our trip in the Gulf Islands where we experienced significant mosquitos (bring insect repellant).

A great place to stay, 2014-08-15
Captain: , West Vancouver (30)

We have enjoyed staying here because of the great location, good facilities and friendly and helpful staff. Although a little expensive, the food and the milk shakes at the Bistro is excellent. The fuel is reasonable priced. The marina is very well sheltered from the elements but it can get very hot in the summer because it is surrounded by land.

New owners = newer looks, 2014-08-06
Captain: , Point Roberts (230)

I was at both the marinas about 7 years agao and was very disappointed. I had heard that the northern marina Telegraph Harbour had improved so I went there with a group of 15 MacGregor sailboats. I have to say the new ownes have turned it into a first class marina. It is very family oriented and all of us had a good time, I highly recommend it.

Nice Place to Tie Up for a Couple of Days, 2014-07-20
Captain: , Liberty Bay, WA (400)

We spent a couple of nights here. Very nice couple own the property and are very friendly. Has a small little cafe in the marina but we did not eat there so don't know how the food was. Looks like maybe more of a breakfast and lunch place. Walk about 1/2 mile and catch the ferry to Chemainus and visit the town with all the murals on the outside walls. Nice little park and town to walk around in. We had a very nice lunch at Odika Cafe and would recommend it, but it looks like there are other nice eating places thurout the town.

Also, take the dingey and cruise thu the cut over to Clam Bay.

Another gem in the islands!, 2013-03-29

Had a great time here, August 2012. Power was a LITTLE weak. But it was really nice overall- swimming on the flat rocks was great for the kids (the rocks at the head of the docks slope into the water gently and are warmed by the sun). Ice Cream and cinnamon rolls were a great treat! Very busy place, tied up in "parallel" parking format and had to slide to other side of slip then reverse to leave the next day. But it worked well and folks were glad to help. Staff was good. The "dip catch" wildlife for the kids was great- they had a ball catching minnows by the dozens. All safely released before the bucket got too hot.

Good place, neat location- we'll be back and would recommend this marina.

One warning- the yellow jackets / wasps were THICK when we were here- be prepared!

Nice stop when heading north, 2012-12-01
Captain: , Seattle (690)

We stopped in at Telegraph Harbour on the way up north in July and liked it so much that we came back on our way home. We took our folding bikes out and rode from the marina over to the ferry to Chemainus, and spent an afternoon over there. Stopped on the way back at Pot of Gold coffee for some very nice fresh roasted beans - and spent some time admiring their roaster. Bought an awesome pie from the diner... Also got a bug zapper racquet, which proved to be invaluable further north!

off-season limitations, 2012-11-23
Captain: , campbell river, bc (70)

planning to stay in mid-October but virtually closed up -- no facilities open, even washrooms locked up. They wanted $0.85/ft (self-registered) just to tie up. Lovely spot but we moved to the "other" marina which had open facilities for $0.95/ft off-season rate. We'll try again sometime between their very busy summer season (non-stop rendezvous and group-cruise destination) and their long closed period.

Great Dock , 2012-10-18
Captain: , Guemes Island (100)

Excellent docks; a favorite stop for our family. swings for kids. There is a small self-service fruit stand a short walk on the road at the head of the bay that sells frozen and fresh items. The pie is awesome. Walk to the Chemanus Ferry is reasonable and worth the trip across for supplies and exploring.

Best marina in Gulf Islands, 2012-09-19
Captain: , Tacoma, Washington (95)

This is an old well kept marina, with an outstanding staff and owners. Our favorite during a recent two week trip in the Gulf Islands

Friendly Place, 2012-07-08
Captain: , Port Angeles, WA (110)

Very friendly and welcoming proprietors. Marina shows evidence of continuing upgrades and maintenance. Popular place for group gaterings with plenty of space for on-shore activities. Bistro has a warm feel and serves artisan pizzas! (They even deliver to the dock)

Telegraph Harbor Update, 2011-07-27
Captain: , Brownsville, WA (558)

The facility has change hands and the new owners are improving both the service and the facility. The store has been rearranged a bit to expand the food service and is now a Bistro with a european chef. The menu is interesting and the food very good. Dock management has improved as well.

Some physical plant improvements have been made and a plan is in place to refurbish the docks on an annual basis.

A favorite stop for us, 2011-02-05
Captain: , Olalla, WA (342)

We make it an annual pilgramage to go to Telegraph Harbor. The hosts are great, the dock staff go out of their way to make you welcome and assist in docking or when departing. The old style soda fountain atmosphere is top notch. Pot Of Gold coffee is awesome and fresh roasted. The pennants that use to hang in the fountain area have been moved to the outdoor covered BBQ area that is perfect for large cruise events. Showers are nice and they have a few BBQ's available for cooking your own lunch or dinner. Shuffle board court for kids of all ages and swimming is great since the waters are warm and inviting. The cut to Clam Bay is well marked for shallow draft boats at high tide and dinghys can use it at almost low tide. There are millions of star fish along the bottom of the cut that is also great for kids. Very dog friendly. A short 15 mn walk to the ferry and the coffee roaster. We love the peace and quiet. They even have a ping pong table and maypole outdoors.

Nice Marina with Family Atmosphere, 2010-09-08
Captain: , Anacortes, WA (177)

Playground area for kids, horseshoe pit, covered picnic area popular with club rendezvous with bar-B-Q facilities. Owner is very accommodating. Arranged meeting with local Marine Biologist for our daughters interest in Marine animals. Clean and well maintained. Fresh pies and new food menu.

clean, quiet, good showers,, 2010-06-28
Captain: , St. George Island, FL (102)

The marina is a great place to get away, yet still have the necessaries --- good showers, a farm store a short walk away, and a little longer walk to the ferry to Chjemainus

Nice for lunch, 2009-09-12
Captain: , Seattle, WA (437)

We stopped by for lunch after Labor Day. Things were pretty quiet on the docks, but several boats still coming in.

Had a nice grilled panini for lunch and milkshakes. Nice, but not earth-shattering.

Side-tie at the docks. Not many 30A outlets from what we could see..

Great for kids too., 2009-08-25
Captain: , Cowiche, WA (350)

Nice clean facility with amazing ice cream dishes, good food selection and places for kids to hangout and play. Friendly staff, fuel, water, showers and laundry. Good local produce and pies a short walk away. Worth the trip. Local knowledge of "The Cut" available.
